Is Liberal-friendly Jim Patterson setting up Telecaster to run interference in a future election campaign ?
[W]hen the Liberals rolled out their attack ads, claiming Stephen Harper was going to put “soldiers in our streets”. It was absurd, and it backfired.
The point is Telecaster*, run by Jim Patterson, didn’t censor them, even though they used images of Stephen Harper without his permission.
But when the Conservatives produced a response to those attack ads — showing video clips of Liberal MPs admitting their own attack ads had gone too far — Telecaster censored the ads. Telecaster ordered the Conservative ads off the air.
The story gets worse: Telecaster yanked the ads after a complaint from the CBC, because it was their footage that captured the MPs making those statements. The CBC actively intervened to knock Conservative ads off the air. And the Telecaster censor, who just happened to be a major Liberal donor, was happy to comply.
Isn’t that a cosy little family?
Has the CBC ever complained about the Liberals using images of Conservative politicians taken from CBC cameras? Don’t be ridiculous. The CBC is a wing of the Liberal Party — the left wing.
When it’s not busy trying to yank Conservative ads off the air, it’s running Liberal propaganda using tax dollars — long infomercials, thinly disguised as political talk shows or “documentaries.”
All this came out in the open last week when Telecaster refused to allow the Canadian Renewable Fuels Association to run a TV ad briefly showing Harper’s own image — even though the CRFA owned the footage themselves.
Why hasn’t anyone in the MSM tracked down this Patterson guy and asked him how he likes being referred to as a liberal lackey.
Let him explain his actions during the last campaign. Who oversees his activities in running a type of broadcasters ‘star chamber’. Expose his backers. They are as guilty as he is in allowing him to subvert democracy in Canada.
His silence is an admission of guilt!

Cbc did a halfhour show on the retiring of Dryden’s hockey number last night. Can anyone remember this being done for any other hhockey player? Hmmm,I wonder if Kenny’s political stripe had anything to do with it?

wallyj: The CBC actually showed the entire Stevie Y ceremony live and also showed the game that followed and has done so for others – Gretzky, Messier, Tie Domi and any other Maple Leaf come to mind. If anything they did less for Dryden than for some of the others by only doing a 1/2 hour recap.

Those are not stupid laws. There are prepared to fight the islamofacists before they take hold. And, remember, the no smoking thing started with one town council. If nothing else, making these laws it puts in the publics mind what islam is all about. Thats more than the weenies in TO do, as they tried to bring in sharia law. Wasn’t there a man recently convicted of burning his wife, in Canada, and haven’t there been honor killings in Canada, in BC.
maryt – I did not say stupid, I said meaningless. A town council passing a law banning kirpans when the SCOC has already ruled on the issue will only make lawyers rich.
Present and Future immigrants need to be reminded that they come here to follow Canadian law, like those in the early 1900’s that came from Eastern Europe they are allowed to keep their traditions but are also expected to become full contributors to Canadian society. This is a federal issue that successive governments have failed to address and the results are now evident.

murray rennie – when the Conservative Party ads are shown on the news (CBC, CTV etc) – this isn’t as an ad; it’s part of the news program.
So..If a car ad pops up during the newscast its not really an ad…just part of the news program? Interesting…
The ads are to be shown on the Super Bowl, and the time for their airing is asked for and paid for by the Conservative Party.
And supposedly approved by Telecaster. More on this later…
Please understand that when a news program airs those ‘ads’ – they aren’t being asked to do so by the Conservative Party and they are not being aired as ‘ads’. That’s why people are here referring to the News Program’s airing of them as ‘free time’.
Sounds like special pleading here. Ad time on news programs isn’t really ad time…it’s “free time” (whatever that really means).
Or are the ads appearing as part of a News story on attack ads? Please be more specific.

ET, you missed the entire point of this. Kate was implying that Conservative ads would not see the light of day because
a) Telecaster is a clearing house of ads
b) its current head is someone who donates money to the Liberal’s and is supposedly “biased”.
c) by “biased” meaning he will, willy-nilly, kibosh conservative ads.
d) therefore any conservative ad will not see the light of day because of this supposed “Liberal Bias” at Telecaster.
HOWEVER…
The Conservatives ALREADY have election style ads out…ads dissing Stephan Dion. Now, according to Kate’s thesis, these ads will never see the light of Day.
BUT….
At least one ad has shown up on CTV NewsNet…a channel under the umbrella of Telecaster.
THEREFORE…
Either the guy at Telecaster forgot to read his instructions, or the “Liberal Bias” of telecaster is just not that powerful.

KevinK. Yes they show the ceremony when they are showing the game,no problem with that. But a special program for Kenny! Gretzky is a national treasure and deserves it. Also,I don’t think the leafs retired Domi’s number,but Belinda did retire his family’s.
Tie Domi retired himself. he made enough political missteps that he could become the next NDP candidate for kickinghorse -ass.
