Brought to you by the team at Small Dead Animals – “where there are more daily readers than Liberals have delegates!”
We begin our broadcast with a friendly shout out to the Mole – still providing endless entertainment for conservatives!

Now to formal coverage of the Liberal leadership convention. First, the results of our poll…

In local leadership news, Saskatchewan MP and former finance minister “Weathervane Ralph” has hitched his wagon to Bob Rae. Mr. Rae’s primary political achievement to date was to plunge the province of Ontario into massive debt during a single term stint as an NDP premier.
Which raises an obvious comparison (and a question I’d like our Liberal and NDP readers to ponder)…
How is favouring Bob Rae to become the next leader of the Liberal Party of Canada differ substantively from an endorsement of former Saskatchewan premier Grant Devine for the office of Prime MInister?
(Open thread.)

CBCpravda “all Liberal, all the time”
they are so busy fawning over their pseudocelebs they dont realize how ridiculous they look. Its the CBC version of the academy awards except the interviews come off more like hollywood squares.
Has anyone seen any negative commentary on TV that discussed the fact that they chose an American, Howard “Yeeeeoooorgh” Dean and the head of the Young Democrats to address delegates?
If this was the Conservative Party and they had a Republican keynote speaker, the Corpse would be all over it accusing them of being Uncanadian.
Well I identify myself as a lefty not a “Liberal” or “NDP” voter as my vote is always up for grabs. But no I’m not a fan of Bob Rae he is a twit.
“Well I identify myself as a lefty not a “Liberal” or “NDP” voter as my vote is always up for grabs. But no I’m not a fan of Bob Rae he is a twit.”
Do they even have a NDP party or a Liberal party in the country in which you reside, Jose? And when are you planning on visiting “Hotel Canada” again? Oh right, you hate Canada because Canada is too racist for you. Well, looks like you’ll have to pick a passport soon…
😉
I suspect all the candidates share one common trait.
That in their teens these guys where the ones most likely to be the recipient of a wedgie.
Pencil-neck geeks.
Heck even Chrtein had balls, even though he has to carry them in his brief case.
Martin offers Liberals no apologies
Brison hosts intimate gathering

All is unfolding as it should*

You’ve said it all, “‘been around the block”.
That had to be the most shameful bowing out speech by any Prime Minister in Canadian History.
Though it was was typical Paul Martin, the Great I am, one has to wonder if perhaps Scott Reid wrote it.
The man still has no grasp of the mess he made as leader of the Liberal Party. Everything backfired on him. He was out to do a job on the Petit Gar from Shawinigan and failed by taking down the Party and himself along with it. They should have presented him with a hook, line and sinker.
They’re not particular where they stamp their logo either, with items like red thongs and condoms, we know where their heads are.
Given the fawing over the Trudeau spawn by the Libs and their mouthpieces (MSM), I wouldn’t be surprised if some delegate made a motion to crown him Liberal leader for life – with a codicile that his male heirs inherit the crown for ever after.
It would be fun to watch all the delegates bow to the feet of the Great One as he accepts – with surprise – WHO, ME?
It’s the RED Campaign.

The CBC ran this show for ex-pmpm for 2 hours and couldn´t sell any advertising time…
Now should we be surprised?
Is it next year that Hockey Night in Canada´s broadcast rights are up, and most likely going to the CTV? I heard once that this 1 program accounts for more than a third of CBC funding. I cannot verify that now, but I can see the desperation creeping from CBC´s accounting division. It must be very difficult for these folks to focus on anything past the next election.. er.. coronation?
*Barb at 1.13am puts an idea to be concerned with in print* ah but this money is pocket change for Bob… who of course has learned his lesson. But have the Liberals learned anything? an obvious answer here.

All the theatrical hoopla is fun to snicker over but we all know Bubba Rae will win because Bubba Rae is the Powercor candidate and the Powercor candidate always wins…until recently in the federal election…but they always win the LPC leadership.
The LPC has always had a big thing for keeping a corporate trust sugar daddy… with King it was Rockefeller with Mike Pearson it was the Bronfmans and with the PET-Chretien-Martin era it was the Desmarais powercor….oh ya by the way, Iggy is the second Powercor horse in the race….so it looks good for the continued Powercor LPC leadership bund continuing….unless magna steps up to the plate, but they really are not there yet in their ability to deliver associated corporate patronage to the LPC coffers.
Let the carnival begin….over to you, Craig Oliver for some media cheerleading of this elitist farce!
It seems to me that its not just the CBC thats giving the LPC an enormus amount of free advertising. Living on Vancouver Island I occasionally tune into CKNW, although less and less. It seems that every time I turn on “Red” Bill lately he’s going on and on about the liberals.
The worst is that it doesn’t matter who they chose to be their next leader they will win the next election.
The CPC did not win the last election, the Weasel Martin lost it.
Now the CPC has the same problem with their leader and they don’t have the msm giving them a leg up.
I voted Reform since its inception and voted CPC last time. Harper blew my vote away some time ago long before the extra special status that he instigated for Quebec.
I’ve said it before, Canada died on 24 June 04 when it elected a known thief and any chance of resurection died with Harper.
For all you staunch CPC suporters, open your eyes and see what Harper is doing.
I liked how Martin pulled the knife out of His former boss’s back, now where will he place it when they take the stage together?
Well, Tony W, I like what Mr. Harper is doing. If you care to be a little more specific, it might point out something ive been missing.
If Bob Rae wins the leadership I will be voting CPC in the next election.
From Rae Daze to alienating his support base this guy was the George Costanza of decision makers!
Bob”Oh right, you hate Canada because Canada is too racist for you.”
Where did you get that idea from? I love Canada, heck I even love Alberta (used to live there). I got along with Albertans fine while I was out there although I had plenty of good natured arguments with them over politics.
Don’t be so quick to fill in the blanks on people like that all you’re doing is impairing your own judgement.
Not according to many comments you left here previously, Jose.
You effectively said you hate Canadians because they are racist and you said it repeatedly, as a search of Kate’s site proves well beyond any doubt. Face it, Jose; based on your own words you’re a hardcore anti-Canadian racist.
How does this relate to the topic at hand? Michael Ignatieff wants to triple immigration so more racist folks like Jose can come to Canada and tell us how racist and uptight we are! Enough.
All I need to know about Bob Rae came when he was premier, during a CBC Radio interview one morning while I was heading into work (yes, I used to be able to stand listening to CBC). He was bitc…, um, complaining about the fact that Ontario paid more in taxes to Ottawa than it got in services. Considering that the NDP’s whole world view is based on taking from the high earners, I thought that was pretty hypocritical. Big shock there!
The winner? Two points:
– The Libs have elected alternating Anglos and Francos back to, when, WW2? (interim leaders not included)
– Mr Dithers is an Anglo.
I’m with mbaron – it’ll be Dion.

Rae looking forward to candidate speeches as delegates get set to vote
MONTREAL (CP) – One of the front-runners in the Liberal leadership race says he is looking forward to today’s all-important candidate speeches in Montreal.
Good work, Kate. You are providing a perfectly legitimate alternative, from the perspective of the ‘ordinary Canadian’ with a mind of her own which she uses, to the MSM Liberal-loving spin.
Do keep it up. This is what people want.
We don’t need some fancy-schmancy, expensive medium- we only need our perspective and our blogs.
The MSM is no more legitimate than you or me or any other blogger. So let’s do our best to annoy them via presentation of a more realistic, mainstream point of view.
Hey, MSM, are you paying attention? Your transparent partisan orientation is turning off more and more of your audience, who see y’all less and less as a source of information, analysis and commentary. You no longer have a monopoly.
The people are now being heard. But will the MSM bother to listen respectfully? Choose to discount us at your peril, ye ivory-tower elitists!
“You effectively said you hate Canadians because they are racist and you said it repeatedly”
By “effectively” I assume you mean “to those of us on crack”. I didn’t say any such thing plain and simple.

2 very interesting polls CanadaAM & ipso’s
re: whoever leads liberal party in next election would you vote for them or cpc.
both show Harper win
Bob Rae, lets see:
While premier of Ontario he turned a two guarter recession into a four year depression, the only jurisdiction in North America with a recession that long. He hiked personal income tax by 7 percent over six years, giving Ontario the highest marginal personal income tax rate in North America and his policies and record high budget deficits led to two downgrades of Ontario’s credit rating (in ’91 and ’93). In addition, he closed 20 percent of the hospital beds in Ontario, cut nearly 7,000 nurses between ’92 and ’95, cut the number of places in medical schools, cut $200 million from the ministry of the environment, eliminated grants for students and increased the tuition fees more than any of the last five Ontario premiers, including Mike Harris.
By ’93, three years into his guvnaship, an Environics poll showed 41 percent of Ontarions would have seriously considered leaving the province if they had the means, which of course we didn’t, because we were broke.
I’m one Ontarian that well remembers the prick.
If he wins, the Conservative’s next election attack ads are gonna be fun to watch.
Biggest convention in history?
Yeah, right. So they claim.
If they aren’t lying (they could be- hey, they’re the Liebrano$$$, after all!), then I wonder how they pulled this off? I mean, it’s just implausible. Not too many folks really give a crap for the LPC these days, or are members, either, unless you count dead people and pussycats, for example.
Maybe they bribed folks somehow. Maybe they called in some zombie moonbat forces to artificially boost the numbers (there’s a significant and influential moonbat faction in the LPC, after all).
Hmm… wonder if there was free beer? That’d do it! It’s worked in the past! And the thongs and condoms likely gave the atmosphere a titillatingly exciting feel, prompting attendees to call their friends in, etc.
Maybe it was really just some big, brainless moonbat rave and not a serious political convention. Yep. Could be!
Yep. These folks are qualified to lead a big, complex federation. Suuuuure. Can anyone name one decent policy that came out of the convention that one finds the least bit useful? Nah… just a lot of leftist stuff, like lowering the age of consent for riding the Hershey Highway and the warm-and-fuzzy, crocodile-tears, false-compassion obligatory “Liberal” lip service stuff about the homeless and the poor and so on. Sounds no less leftist than the NDP!
Lee you asked what I think is wrong with Harper. Not complete but here goes. At the outset he insulted me and I beleive every conservative by taking a liberal into cabinet. At the same time appointing a senator and then putting a nonelected person in cabinet.
The final that turned the switch to off is non comunication. It has become obvious to me that he is just like the lib’s and dippers, if your com’s are not patting him on the back he doesent want to know. this strain runs through the CPC in Alberta and B.C. Proof, during the summer, after several letters and e-mails I sent him a last e-mail. I also copied all MP’s in Alberta and B.C. except 3, 1 for obvious reasons and 2 because I screwed up address’s. Do you know that I received only ONE thats right ONE reciept of mail response. When I can’t comunicate with a government I’m certainly not going to support them.
Through the 70’s and 80’s I voted against the liberals. I used to believe that it was every ones responsibility to vote. I was glad when the Reform came along, it gave me something to vote for.
Now with the new politicans first law I can’t even protest vote because some crook gets an extra $1.70 “whatever” and anything more than zerro is way too much.
Hey Tony W,
Non-communication? Prime Minister Stephen Harper?
He just doesn’t use the MSM to communicate, and why would he? They just twist everything he says anyway.
You want to hear what the Canadian Government and the Prime Minsiter are doing? Here’s the link to subscribe to his notices and speeches. I get more than a few of each from the PM’s Office every week and know far more about what he’s doing and saying than I ever would if I relied only on the Probe and Fail, the Red Star, the Commie Bored Corpse, the MSM in other words.
3ws.pm.gc.ca/eng/default.asp
Scroll down, and on the left you’ll see a photo of PMSH on the phone; click on the photo, which says “Join the PM’s E-Mail List” and you’ll be hearing far more about what the government is doing than you EVER did when the Liberals were in power, even with their fawning toadies in the PPG.
I am waiting for the results of the first ballot, to see how many voted, and then how many don’t vote on the rest. Those free booze parties will have priority, and a bunch of drunks with hangovers, overuse of red condoms and red thongs will elect a liberal leader. And they say Harper is scary. Will these delegates use those props to take part in the world orgasim for peace on Dec 20. Yes, there is such a thing going on.
Been around the block. You missed the point. Read my comment at 10:29am and my last one. Comunication isn’t being preached to its Q & A. When I can’t get the answer to a question or in this case even an acknowledgement that the questions been asked, I tune out. Because of this the CPC has lost my vote.
My assurtain that the CPC will not win again is based on past elections. The CPC won minority last time because of the ineptness of the weasel Martin and because the media turned against him. I believe that at one point the CPC was headed for a majority until the media “came to their senses”. The media will not let this happen again. They will go all out liberal suport from the outset, I give you what is happening now.
“I believe that at one point the CPC was headed for a majority until the media “came to their senses”. The media will not let this happen again. They will go all out liberal suport from the outset, I give you what is happening now.”
If that happens, I’m afraid Canada is done. Alberta is getting restless…
“If that happens, I’m afraid Canada is done. Alberta is getting restless…”
Spoken by a man who obviously loves his country more than I do.
Tony W: “I believe that at one point the CPC was headed for a majority until the media ‘came to their senses’. The media will not let this happen again. They will go all out liberal suport from the outset…”
You’re probably right, and then, as multirec says, Canada’s done like a dinner.
On the other hand, if ex-CPC supporters like you jump ship because you don’t get an answer to your questions from the PM’s office (the Libs sure as heck never gave a straight answer to any questions being asked, and nine times out of ten they lied) then the CPC definitely haven’t a snowball’s hope in H*ll of getting a majority, let alone a minority.
So, who are you going to vote for, Tony?
