  1. Irwin it sure is starting to look that way, The NDP want to nationalize everything but the roll of toilet paper in my can, They want to abolish the Queen & brand our brave forces, Criminals.
Are the NDP the Communist party of Canada in drag?
I think it is time maybe the NDP should be called NCP & branded criminals for trying to over throw DEMOCRACY in Canada.

  2. Jack/Olivia “Taliban” Layton wish all youse a Happy Trasnexual Remembrance Day.
The fringe has now become mainstream in the land of the NDP. …-

From the party that compared Canadian soldiers in Afghanistan to terrorists, another great idea: a Trans (gender) Day of Remembrance to be held every November — presumably when the rest of us are paying tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
The proposal is a draft resolution being proposed by a New Democratic Party riding association that will be voted upon at the NDP convention in Quebec City this weekend

  3. Mary T asks, “if they have no power, conveniences etc, how do they keep those white robes so clean.”
Their women wash them, scrubbing them by hand, probably in their backyards where they would have a couple of deep tubs: one for washing and one for rinsing.
Their women and girl children probably spend most of their day either scrubbing clothing, floors, or dishes and pots and pans or preparing meals for the males.
I’m no feminist, but what a waste of gifts and talent. Which brings me to another question, asked by others but never answered by either SOW or the NDP: If you care so much about women’s emancipation how come you’re pro-Taliban and anti-military intervention in Afghanistan?
I suspect the answer is that there’s no Canadian taxpayer-funded gravy train in helping women in the ME. The feminisists in SOW and the NDP would have to do some actual work, under trying conditions, without an expense account–or if they had one, there’d be no place to have a gourmet dinner with only the best wine.
Sober reality, in other words…’couldn’t have that, then, could we?

  4. Thanks, for the answer, I remember my grandmother doing that with a washboard back in the late 30’s. She used homemade lye soap. One advantage of the burka, no rich old man can show off a trophy wife. Bet Paul Mc would like to be able to follow their divorce laws.

  5. Jack Leyton is the only leader who has the balls to standup to America and speak out against our “Vietnam”. At least he has a heart, you rotten Tories have no heart. You’d let our young soldiers die to kiss ass America. You are wrong and no amount of double talk will change that. You all talk pretty smart when none of you are over there fighting. I work with a lady whose only son in over there. I think he’s been waiting for a chance to fight. I hope he comes back alive.

  6. ok4ua: “You’d let our young soldiers die to kiss ass America.”
What a load of absolute B*lls***, young man, old man, out to lunch man.
Canadian troops are in Iraq, wingnut, because we don’t want our women and children living in Dhimmitude. I like being educated (with two university degrees), thank you very much, and I like the fact that my daughters are educated as well: one has just graduated summa cum laude and is in the top 10% of history students at one of Canada’s largest universities, while my other daughter has just begun her second year at university.
Under the Islamofascists, if they win this WOT–and you’re just the kind of toady to forward their cause–my daughters and myself would be confined to wearing burqas every day and doing housework ad nauseum, while we waited for my husband/their dad to escort us to the supermarket.
ok4ua, you’re like a collaborator. You’re full of BS and you can just take you “kissing America’s ass” crap somewhere else.
I’d also suggest you do your homework. Your views are disgraceful, cowardly, and uninformed. Get a life. Because if you don’t soon, you just may find yourself without one, once the Islamofascists take over.

  7. I say we tax payers buy old Jack a white flag and send him on over to chat with the Taliban. At least we won’t have to listen to him talk out his ass anymore his good friends will shut him up forever.

  8. You talk like this war is a big game and Canada’s gonna kick ass. You cannot defeat an enemy you can’t see. It’s Vietnam, for those of us who remember, all over again. We don’t have the money or population to support a war effort. Be godamned if the people of Canada want to spend billions on a war for the USA.What next? Are we going to invade central America? Where the hell will this power hungry leader of ours go next? Did you know the US government in the late 50’s pondered invading Canada. We had Diefenbaker in at that time another ass kisser of America. You guys think the US gives a shit about Canadians? They treat their own people like crap. All we are is a source of natural resources. That’s all.

  9. Harper is trying to George Bush “light”. He copies everything Gorgeous George does to a “T”.
I hope his Facist ass is outa here soon. We’re sick of him. He wants an elected senate like???????The states……….He wants fixed elections like ????????????/the states. He wants to be President??????Like the states. He wants us at war Like??????????The states. He will get rid of every social program we have????Like???the states. He’s a wanna be Redneck American.

  10. ok4ua,
Boy, you seem a bit upset. I’ll bet you didn’t get your nap yesterday.
Actually, I’d be happy with good ole’ Steve, being a good old, Canadian Redneck. Works for me.

  11. ok4ua,
I just ran across your “Canada’s Vietnam” comment. What are you talking about? I’d wish that you’d engage your brain before you speak it (but maybe that is the problem…)
In Afghanistan, there are these REALLY BAD people called Taliban (remember they are the ones who harboured Bin Laden and supported his terrorist activities. As well, they are the same folks who don’t want the women in their society (or daughters) to be educated, able to work, or allowed to exist in society without their husbands, fathers, or similar male of position/power around to allow that. And don’t forget they were also the ones to use artillery to destroy that Buddhist (sp?) statue that was carved into the side of a mountain — a cultural and historic relic). All around nice ‘guys.
Now, after the US came in (again after the Taliban refused to turn over Bin Laden or to refute their support for terrorists) and with the help of the Northern Alliance (Afghan militia from Northern Afghanistan) removed the Taliban regime as the government of Southern Afghanistan and Kabul. We had troops there in 2002 to assist. Not surprising the removal was militarily simple and happened without many loss of Coalition troops (including Northern Alliance troops).
Now lets jump ahead to now. Karzai is the duly elected President of Afghanistan. However, because of the security situation through much of Afghanistan (especially in the south — the birthplace of the Taliban), the Afghan duly elected President couldn’t control or exert control on that region of his country. What is a President to do, when he can’t govern his country because his country doesn’t have the necessary security mechanism to ensure that the ‘law of the land’ can be upheld? He asks for the help of the international community! The UN? No, because they can’t muster (or won’t) the necessary military forces to come into Afghanistan and make/keep the law and order.
Now why would the international community (NATO) need to fight a war in Afghanistan? In order to root out the Taliban who kill the Afghan government officials who are attempting to build their country (just like the Canadian Gov’t sent troops into Quebec during the FLQ crisis). Why doesn’t the Afghan Army do this? Well because they don’t have one. Afghanistan was full of a bunch of private militias/armies that did the bidding of their local warlord (and yes, that included the Northern Alliance). So while the Afghan Army is being developed (and that is happening RIGHT NOW — In fact in every fight that occurs, Afghan soldiers are the first ones into the fight — it is their country after all) NATO troops are helping to fill the void.
Why? Again, to kill/destroy the people who would kill/hinder the Afghan government from developing its infrastructure so that its people may survive and exist in conditions that at least come close to a third world standard (right now many villages don’t have clean water, most don’t have any kind of electricity, you get the picture). So for the government and international aid organizations (including UN) to come into this backward country and develop/constuct communities (including girls schools — they can’t attend the same schools as boys), they need the PROTECTION of soldiers. That is what the international (NATO) community is trying to provide, protection. Now, the fact that the Taliban have a stated intention of militarily overthrowing the duly elected government in Kabul, they are an ongoing threat to the stability of this nation. They have to be dealt with. Thus, when possible, NATO troops have been trying to meet with and destroy the Taliban in battle.
It hasn’t been easy, since they don’t wear uniforms. Hide among the local population. Kill and intimidate the local population to ensure their ‘allegiance’, the fight has been hard. This isn’t the meeting of the French and British in Waterloo, where there is a clear winner and loser! The fight will be long and difficult. However, for NATO (including Canada) their responsibility will end once the Afghan nation has security forces capable of dealing with their internal problems, according to the wishes of the duly elected head of their government. Once that happens, then NATO will be able to leave (in a substantial number) since (just like Canada’s FLQ crisis — I know it is not the same) the Afghans will be able to employ its own soldiers to deal with persons like the Taliban (or other wackos).
This is not like watching Band of Brothers, where after 10 hours, the problem is resolved. And neither is Afghanistan like Vietnam. The circumstances were:
    a. completely different;
    b. the fight was handled completely differently;
    c. the Taliban will be unable to operate effectively in Afghanistan as soon as enough security is established to allow for the development projects to be done, to give the Afghan population hope and a reason to believe in its government. To believe that when they tell the authorities that Taliban have arrived in their village that a viable force, capable of defeating the Taliban, will come to their aid, and they understand that the Taliban are only about tearing down things, while their government wants to help them to live better lives. ONce this is achieved, then victory is achieved.
It won’t happen tomorrow. But trust me when I say, most of the Taliban are not ‘dedicated’ soldiers. They are local thugs, who get tired pretty quickly of seeing their brothers-in-arms getting killed in big numbers every time they try and stand up those soldiers who are there to enforce the will of the legitimate Afghan government (with them realizing little if any victories). It won’t take long before their will to die for an uncertain cause, evaporates.
Canada’s Vietnam? I hope you are joking, because otherwise you are an idiot.
