  1. I wish the Vatican would as strongly deplore the terrorists as they do Israel. They don’t see that the constant missiles from Lebanon lobbed into Israel aren’t an attack on a free and sovereign nation?
As Stalin observed, “how many divisions does the Pope have”? His cynicism and failure to understand moral authority was inappropriate in those times, but, the Vatican’s present spineless inability to grasp real evil and support a just war makes they very foolish. As Eurabia closes in around them they might need to arm those Swiss Guards in the future.

  2. I guess on this site, Israel can do no wrong hey?
What goes around, will come around.

Well given that Pope Benedict was in the Hitler Youth against his will and risked being shot for desertion towards the end of WWII; you might at least give him some credit for understanding the nature and substance of oversized ‘shitstorms’.
It is pretty plain that provocations have taken place , I don’t buy that the Vatican doesn’t see the missile attacks as baiting a free and sovereign nation.
There is some speculation that JPII was shot at the behest of Bulgarian communists. In answer to the question, ‘how many divisions does the Pope have’? The reply given John Paul II critical role in slaying communism through Solidarity in Poland is “How many divisions does he need?”
Perhaps it’s time to send in the Pope.
Lastly, when I visited Rome in ’86, I recall the Swiss guards carry halberds in case anyone gets some “head lopping” ideas.

  4. You know, “j_N” – looking at the sheet I used to do the calculations yesterday – neither do I! I’ve (hopefully) corrected that with the more accurate number of 9757 (ish)
Items were coming in so fast yesterday, I didn’t double check until you mentioned it. Thanks.

  5. my spankin new tattoo reads:
“blessed are the peacemakers” Mt. 5:9
hint: col. Chuck Sweeney piloting bock’s car over nagasaki was a peaceMAKER.
hiroshima was the wake up call, nagasaki was the message, which was ‘hellloooo tokyo !! THIS will continue until you STOP your aggression. we will MAKE the peace happen if you do not chose to.’
hezbollah needs to mandate reading history books more. things can take an about turn real quick in war. and very uncomfortable. ask japan if they have any stirrings to commit military conquest in the western pacific area.
this is simple demographics; the arabists of this generation are too distant from the bloody nose their fathers got in 67 and 73, so they too are about to learn the same lesson.
maybe the stuff about ‘giving back’ gaza and west bank was just Isrealis going thru the motions knowing full well the rockets would rain down, ascribing it to a cost of doing business.
God bless the nation of Israel.

  6. I think it was Israel who broke the last cease fire they had with Hamas, by targetting some of their members. So, of course more rockets would come.
God fix the nation of Israel.

  7. And to think they gave that jerk JIMMY CARTER the NOBEL PEACE PRIZE hey i can think of a few who could have gotten it better then that peanut brained idiot

  8. “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. They shall prosper that love thee.” Psalm 122
But sometimes, war’s the only way.
    IMO, Israel, let’s roll!
P.S. I’m so proud of PMSH, a Canadian PM who’s speaking the truth for a change.
(In political terms, I hope that the many Jewish Canadians who seem to vote Liberal as if in a trance will contribute to a Conservative majority next time around.)

  9. penny, plover, kate…. The genesis of the ’79 revolution was in the ’53 subversion of democracy in Iran by the US and Britain. The ousting of the Shah was just another CIA chicken come home to roost. Those who don’t remember their history indeed. Those who willfully don’t remember are beneath contempt.
Say what you want about the Carter presidency, he has shown himself to be one of the best ex-presidents, if for nothing else but his efforts in eradicating guinea worm from the planet. He is neither twit nor idiot, unlike some posters on this site who bandy about such invective so freely.

  10. gotta agree with that assessment maryjane. regardless of his record in the white house mr carter has MORE than made up for any shortcomings.
jimmy builds housing for the economically disadvantaged and oversees elections the best he can.
mr ford, republicanist to the core, swarrays around exclusive golf courses and charges loadsadough for personal appearances preaching to the converted.
