When is child pornography not child pornography? When your tax dollars pay for it.

Young teen boy goes to a waxing parlour to get his balls waxed. CBC camera man follows boy into parlour where the waxer asks him how often he shaves his balls. He answers, I guess I shave my balls about once a week….
Hes then asked to drops his pants, and he lies on the operating table. All of this is captured by the astute CBC cameraman who is employed by the state with your tax dollars.
The waxer then proceeds to wax his balls while the CBC camera films the event for the youth of our country at taxpayers expense.
They hope you and your children learn some of those liberal Canadian values from this.

  1. Horrible.
Much as I’ve learned about wasteful government spending by Uncle Sam, knowing that the Government of Canada subsidizes child porn makes me glad that I decided not to complete the Landed Immigrant application process.
Seems like some CBC’ers are on a mission to compete with strange shows on the Canada-only Showcase cable channel (i.e. Kink). That should not be the CBC’s job as a public entity.

  2. ok, thank you cbc. I never really thought of getting waxed before. I suppose “sugaring” would work too.
Anything would be an improvement over the philishave beard trimmer.
With all the violent hairy people’s photos on this website as of late, well it that’s not an untapped market, I don’t know what is.

  3. What’s almost more disturbing about this CBC show/Web site is Canadians’ apathy to such filth and degredation.
Years ago, when the Toronto District School Board was allowing pamphlets on the gay lifestyle in public schools (pamphlets that declared “it’s normal and natural,” showing very healthy looking teenage dudes of all nationalities on the front cover, and one entitled “Safe S & M Gay Sex,” which encouraged a trip to a veterinary supply store–for a certain type of rubber glove) I got a petition going to request that the TDSB stop the distribution of said pamphlets. In plain brown envelopes, I handed these pamphlets out to people who might be interested in signing the petition–AND WAS BLOWN AWAY BY HOW MANY PEOPLE THOUGHT THAT I WAS PERVERTED. Go figure. Kill the messenger.
Canadians are such wimps. We’re throwing our kids to the dogs (and WE criticize the Mayans for throwing babies into their sacrifical fiery furnaces?) and would rather criticize “up-tight, conservative killjoys” than run the perverts out of town.
I wouild like to know which politicians, businessmen, law enforcement personnel, lawyers and other members of the judiciary are getting rich off the avails of perverting our juveniles? I can’t for the life of me figure out why Canadians have sat still and said nothing while increasing numbers of laws legalize degrading and immoral practices, often involving our children?
As some sage put it: “All it takes for evil to flourish is for good men and woman to do [and say] nothing.”
    Come on, Canadians! Speak up!

  4. Now, if it was a girl or a grown woman, particularly a beautiful one, there’d be a monstrous outrage. Seems it’s ok to show male genital nudity to children, including underage nudity. And on a related topic, I wonder whether the so-called “Penis Puppeteers” are also somehow supported by taxpayers? You’ve heard of those freaks who go onstage in front of regular folk and play with their dinks and call it a “puppet show”? Yep, that was almost “mainstream” the way the MSM treated it. Can you imagine the state allowing women to do the same thing with their pussies or boobies? And I’ve heard of no minimum age for viewing that sort of “art”.
Now, for the record, I don’t care if some people want to be “gay”, but I must say this…
I smell a hidden leftist agenda to promote male homosexuality or something like that while forcing females to remain covered up. Makes me think of the Taliban. Maybe the left wants young boys to become orientated from an early age towards other males by hiding female sexuality and explicitly exposing male sexuality? I expect some ultra-extreme leftists to go ahead and insanely, furiously flame away now at my nerve to express my own point of view here in line with my Charter-guaranteed right to say what I think…
That’s kiddie porn, which is illegal, as we know.
And it was made by the CBC.
    In Canada.
    We didn’t make this up.
Choose your Canada… oh, good. Now the new government can clean up the disgusting filth the Liberal Party of Canada has been creating and make ALL instances of child pornography illegal, any ludicrous, assinine claims by moonbats of “artistic merit” notwithstanding.
I hope now that the insanity will come to an end. No more use of tax dollars for unnecessary, non-public-good bullshit that may potentially harm children and society as a whole.
This sort of thing is not a “Canadian value”. It’s just a “leftist” or perhaps a “Liberal” value (they allowed it to happen, didn’t they? many times, too, as I recall previous examples of taxpayer-funded porn over the years).
See, this is how the Liberals got so many inner-city votes. There’s a lot of sick freaks in the cities who like this sort of disgusting crap who think it’s just fine that you and I have our money stolen to produce such titillating stuff for moonbats, many of whom may not even pay taxes anyway.
Is all that what the Liberals meant as an example of “Canadian values”? Who are they to decide and impose what values Canadians are going to hold? That’s tyranny. Authoritarianism. Thank goodness the Liberals are out of power. Let’s keep it that way now!

  5. Rumour has it one of the sticking points during the CBC lockout was pubic hair (ball) waxing was being eliminated for part timers and available only for “on air personnel.”
    At the CBC.
    In Canada.

  6. SO……..
How do y’all feel about state-sponsored “early childhood education” now?
Can we really trust parents to instil in their children the appropriate “Canadian” values?
    Get ’em while they’re young……

  7. Not withstanding the fact that I do not support public funds going toward ANY tv show or website (including “round tables”), did you actually observe this video before reporting on this Kate?
There is absolutely ZERO pornography in the video. The teen, who did not appear to be a “young” teen – and who looked about 17 or 18 to me, did not have any of his private parts exposed whatsoever. Instead, the video focussed on this reaction – his face, when the wax was peeled off.
This is NOT child pornography. Calling it so is simply looking for shock value.
Now, if you want to discuss the opinion that NO public funds should support the CBC, regardless of whether it is documentaries of life in Saskatchewan or whatever, fine. But puleeease – calling this pornography is silly.

  8. Chris, perhaps – but don’t you see the silliness of calling this particular video “child pornography?” Perhaps there is another video that is child pornography, but this one certainly isn’t.
Fact checking (and silly insinuations) continue to be problems for some bloggers that are looking for “credibility.”

  9. Chris, just watched the one you referred to. While I would whole heartedly agree that public funds should not pay for this (but then, I don’t think CBC should have ANY public funds for ANYTHING), it’s still not “kiddy porn.”
“Proud To Be Canadian’s” characterization including “often zoomed-in on his butt” is simply false.
Hell, guys back in high school pulled pranks like this back in the time when “streaking” was done more than it seems to be done today. In fact, this video is nothing more then the back view of a streaker. Pornographic?? Come on.
Mooning teachers and students was considered fun. Even The Last Amazon recently had a post about “mooning Hazbollah.” There is absolutely nothing pornographic about this video. Some might think it in poor taste, depending on their “taste.” Porn? Give me a break.
Public funds to pay for it? I agree that is despicable.
Criminal offence involving pornography? That’s pathetic.

  10. You may say that the “ball waxing” video is not kiddie porn but that is besides the point; This was marketed towards our children and broadcasted at a time when most working parents are unable to supervise. Do you really want your 12 yr old learning the merits of ball waxing?
This crap’s sole purpose is to break down moral barriers and make this sort of thing acceptable to our children. This is leftist indoctrination at work and the very reason why the CBC must be silenced!

  11. i just had my first child 3 days ago, i try not to think too much about what the world is going to be like by the time he’s ready for public school, things sure have changed since i was a boy. already i feel like we live in a country where the voice of the parents is the least influential. how are you supposed to equipe your kids with the neccesary knowlegde to navigate the mindfields of childhood and adolesance, without turing them into paranoid, fearful, social outcasts?
i guess you just have to release the arrow and trust that it will hit its intended target.

  12. “Do you really want your 12 yr old learning the merits of ball waxing?”
Actually, if you saw the video, the pain on the guys face would likely turn off any 12 year old’s thoughts of ball shaving or waxing.

  13. “how are you supposed to equipe your kids with the neccesary knowlegde to navigate the mindfields of childhood and adolesance, without turing them into paranoid, fearful, social outcasts?”
    By taking responsibility for them.

  14. Ian: “Actually, if you saw the video, the pain on the guys face would likely turn off any 12 year old’s thoughts of ball shaving or waxing.”
Actually not, it will make them want to do it, like a rite of passage, belonging to the “teens”, doing the “in thing”.
Like those “shock” pictures on cigarettes, I see kids wrap the tin foil packaging around them now, so no big deal.
Me, I actually shuddered watching the first part of it, so not sure what the rest of the flick showed, but trust the CBC to do this stuff.
I get a sense everyone thinks the Conservatives will get rid of this type of stuff.
Nope. It is going to take a major overhaul of Canadian society values and ethics to do this, and that isn’t going to happen.
We’ve been building on sand since 1972. The storms are already here, where do we turn to?
Hockey, that’s it. Yes, the good ol’ hockey game and a beer.
Problem is, game ends, bottles empty, then what?
Poker! Yes, and I meant the card version.
    cheers
    tom

  15. The CBC is in it’s death throes as it empties it’s anti-Conservative, pro-Liberal, anti-Israel, pro-PLO, pro-SSM, pro-gay, pro-feminist, anti-family programming …. before they are either stopped by a new president or shut down completely.
Based on CBC participation ratings, the Canadian taxpayer is subsidizing it for a Billion $$$$$ annually and that comes out to something like a thousand $$$$$$ per viewer/user. Goodbye CBC … hello Fox News …???!!!

  16. There are so many interesting, informative things a outfit with some imagination could do with a tax funded communications company. The CBC does not have the talent to produce anything that intrests people – they have all the oppertunity and no brains – reverse bankruptcy. The fact that they make the lowest form of films (like the above) is an indication that they have NO IDEAS and NO TALENT. The whole sordid business should be wiped off the books. All the assests should be sold to independant film makers who would not have ANY access to taxpayers money. The news buisness has been so poor for so many years that a Canadian Fox channel would have viewers glued to the tube every night and could easily have all star ratings to ensure survival. As it is, Canadians have to rely on the internet for real news and they do – the MSM via CBC, CTV, Global have lost all credability. They are a bad joke. The reaction to this kind of cheap, digusting programing is the only NOTICE they get – there is no point in attempting to reform the programing if the programers remain the same. Getting rid of ‘spoon fed’ wonders is expensive and counter-productive; just close the doors and try to cut the losses – no point in throwing good money after bad. IMO this should be the first buisness of our new PM Stephen Harper and the Conservatives.

  17. Dear idiots:
Sure, this video clip is ridiculous, but if you took a nanosecond to go to the website, you’d see the guy is 18.
    That’d mean he’s an adult.
That’d mean this has nothing to do with child pornography.
And that you all think the CBC would air child pornography speaks volumes about how out of touch with reality you all are.
Please continue to make mountains out of non-existent molehills. It’s very entertaining.

  18. QUICK LETS BURN THE EMBASSY!!!! THE INFIDELS MUST DIE!!!
    LEAD THE CRUSADE SMALL!!!!
THEY MUST SUFFER FOR TALKING ABOUT BALLS!!!!!!!!!
    STOP THE BALLS!!!
    THE BALLS MUST DIE!!!!
    DESTROY THE CBC!!!!
    THEY TALK ABOUT BALLS!!!!
    BURN THE BALLS!!!

  19. Well, come on now folks…
After all, a lot of Liberals had thiers waxed at the last election. :))

  20. tomax,
“Actually not, it will make them want to do it, like a rite of passage, belonging to the “teens”, doing the “in thing”.”
You have kids that would think this way? Hmmm.. amazing that mine don’t think that way.

  21. Ahhhhh yaes good ol’ mothercorpse serving her mandate well.
BTW what is a teen worried about getting his scrote waxed unless he’s a prancing fairy god mother or out hooking in gay bathhouses for a few bucks after school….like where the hell are this kids parents??

  22. OK, could somebody clue me in?

I have heard that jihadis were hairless in that area when they martyr themselves, but why would a young Canadian boy even think to do this.

And why would he do it on TV?

And how would CBC even begin to imagine this is acceptable?

APPOINT DON CHERRY HEAD OF THE CBC!

  23. If he’s over 18, get over it. That makes him an adult, and he can do whatever he wants with his hair. What’s with all the homophobia? Maybe his girlfriend just doesn’t like hair?!? And who cares if a 16 year old shaves his pubic hair anyway? It’s not like their parents would notice, not that they should care if, say, his sideburns are too short.
The fact is that hair removal seems to be on rise among young people, and the CBC is interested in courting young people by providing information, which is understandable since from their schedule of Antiques Roadshows back to back, interupted only by comercials for walk-in bathtubs, you might draw the conclusion that they have a pretty narrow base.

  24. Dave Rywall,
“David”, the person in the “ball shaving” video is clearly labeled as 18-years old.
I am unable to find anything on the website showing the age of the person in the “naked guy” video and if you know where that person’s age is disclosed, I would appreciate your pointing it out.
At best, if the person is 18+, it is in poor taste and I’m not thrilled with having to pay for it. But what else is new? I’m not thrilled with being forced to pay through my taxes for the CBC at the best of times.
However, as of yet, I haven’t seen anything revealing his age one way or another and before the CBC puts nude young people on the Internet, they should make sure that they indicate the person’s age.

  25. The Liberal/GTA culture has promoted, and pandered at every turn to morally septic lifestyles which do not represent the majority of Canadians, who are forced to pay for such representations just because they happen to amusing to the smug sliding/no-values urbansim of “progressive” GTA unionistas.
And it’s typical that their ilk would describe as an overreaction a suggestion that a segment on some guy having his balls waxed may not be appropriate entertainment for the kiddies.
CBC has got to go. It’s a jet stream of crap unnaturally propelled by a pipeline of taxpayer money. Just shut it down, fire everybody, and then build it from the ground up on a PBS model. Let’s get Mansbridge and Boags explaining during on-air fund drives why the CBC programming is so vital to Canadians.
Maybe they can offer different “gifts” for different levels of dontations — $50 gives you a ball-waxing DVD, with bonus dog-ball footage, $200 gets you a “fear-the-conservative-dinosaur” retrospective from CBC news, and $500 gets you a replica senate seat.

  26. Pardon my language, but I’m pretty fed up with this crap.
You bozos who say “as long as they are 18 it is ok” must be silently brainwashed by USA culture. Good job CRTC! You do so well at advancing Canadian culture and keeping all others out that even Liberal Canadians don’t know THAT THE LEGAL AGE OF CONSENT IN CANADA IS 14!!! Almost the lowest in the world.
Let me just rephrase a famous liberal quote to apply to this situation:
IF YOU WANT YOUR NAKED 18+ MALES SHAVING THEIR BALLS ON TV THEN TAKE YOUR HOMO LOVING ASS BACK TO THE USA WHERE IT BELONGS.
    In Canada jailbait means

  27. 18, not 18, child porn, not child porn. whether the video is amoral or not, the continued existence of the CBC in 2006 certainly is.

  28. Chris Selley and Ian Scott: we’ll put you fine chaps down as “pro-teen scrotum shaving propaganda paid for with tax dollars”, mmm-kay?

  29. Nobody should be surprised, moms are taking their 12 year old daughters to la senza to bond buying them thongs, and helping make their daughters boobs out of mosquito bites with todays computer engineered bras . Its the new trend – look like a women, without THINKING like one, mothers included.
The boys are just following along, well dad’s learn to peacefully wait for the ” see I told you so’s”.
Its disgusting sure, and just because a kid reaches eighteen doesn’t mean squat, if they haven’t learned or been expected to think with the right brain, and many wander through life without a moral compass to guide them – which today applies equally to each gender.
What can you really do but prepare your kids, and make them aware of the pitfalls. As enabelers like the CBC, and pushover parents aren’t going away anytime soon, and your kids will still have to thoughtfully wade through the BS.

  30. Most ridiculous item of the day

“When is child pornography not child pornography?” asks Kate. How about when there’s no child, and no nudity? (Hint: actually watch the clip, which I find rather amusing.) And the ridiculousness spreads. The self-correcting blogosphere at work — it’s…

  31. Obviously I am going to have to add CBC to my ‘Parental BLOCK List’. I am shocked at this especially the time of day and subject matter.
Liberal values are not “FAMILY VALUES”.

  32. Pd; good point. And some think there is no problem with Liberals running a National Day Care? Oh, I guess it would be all right if they don’t allow TV’s esp. CBC!

  33. 18 or not 18, the waxing would be to make him appear younger.
CBCPravda tends to over report anything with the slightest hint of sex. I think its because its the only thing they think will make people watch their dull Avonlea strewn schedule.

  34. Anonalogue:
“Chris Selley and Ian Scott: we’ll put you fine chaps down as “pro-teen scrotum shaving propaganda paid for with tax dollars”, mmm-kay?”
You can put me down for whatever you want. It wouldn’t be the first time you misconstrued or utterly lied about what I wrote.
I’ll put you down as a liar, mmmkay?

  35. Re the “the kid is eighteen so there’s nothing wrong with it” notion:
Considering the antics of some of the I-assume-well-over-18-year-olds here, I am not so sure “eighteen” is much of a hallmark of adulthood anymore. In fact, I’d say just from all the “YOU IDIOTS” commentary here I’d say the age of maturity should be raised to about 35.

  36. Being a Conservative/Libertarian my view is almost anything goes as long as your a consenting adult but, this content belongs on “Showcase” late night not publicly funded CBC.
What disturbs me much more is Nerve’s attempt to be “cutting edge” and appear hip to the youth market while blatantly mixing in a little left wing “social engineering” & propaganda.

Great stuff, EBD! Maybe they can do it from Afghanistan; I hear they are keen on “ball waxing” there!
