As part of the NKR (national knife registry), the sale of metal knives will be banned. Only plastic hand-knives will be allowed in the country.
Long knives and swords will of course need to be registered.

Yes, a ban on knives! … but in cooperation with individual provinces, of course, and with the exception of knife throwing ranges, during the hours of 6:00AM and 6:00PM, 6:00PM and 6:00AM, weekdays and non-weekdays.

I’m all for a gun registry for knives. Since the long gun registry cost $2 billion, I suspect it would cost us about $45 billion. Money well spent, that’ll stop the carnaige.

There is an apparent scam going around (as reported by a caller on CFRA) where a caller asks what party you are planning to vote for. If the reply is Conservative, the caller says ‘OK we’ve registered your vote, no need to go to the polls’.
Spread the word and make sure this doesn’t happen in your ridings!

“Sharp eating instruments are against traditional Canadian Values” Martin said. “Once elected, our main priority will be to ban all knives, forks, chopsticks and shish kabobs”. Martin, wildly gesturing, said “Stephen Harper actually eats with a knife and a fork! I’ve seen him! George Bush eats with a knife and a fork too! Stephen Harper and George Bush are too scary to be trusted with Knives and Forks!”
John Duffy, Chief Liberal Strategist, was quoted as saying “We can’t trust Stephen Harper or the Conservatives with chopsticks or shish kabob skewers.”
In other news, it was noticed that Ralph Gooddale and his finance department sent an email just prior to the announcement to the Canadian Spoon Council of Canada stating “Thanks for your support. Here’s payback!”

I’ve always liked Miles Heidt for his “lets take a second look at this before we commit” attitude, but his suggestion that the City of S’toon should ban knives just proved he’s a moonbat. Maybe he’s jealous of Atch’s award for Canada’s Craziest Mayor and wants to stake a claim for the next go-around.
Here’s a suggestion Miles: Enforce a 11pm curfew for all under 16’s. That’ll get half the knives off the streets at night right there.
