  1. Wow, The Red Crescent (red cross?) donated a million to the US to say thatnks for the blood shed.
I’m wondering why I never see these stories in the U.S. liberal media? Or CBC for that matter.
Furthermore, I wonder if Cindy Sheehan is sitting in Crawford Texas rethinking her position right now. After all, she wants the US to withdraw from Iraq and leave this poor, defenseless but thankful people to fend for themselves after they release Saddam.

  2. Kate, Sorry for the OT but I think this is significant:
The Globe and Mail’s whitwash of Gomery now appears to be on. In coverage of Steven Harper’s comments drawing a lawsuit threat, they’re describing Gomery as involving one person:
“Mr. Justice John Gomery’s report on the sponsorship program found that a friend of former prime minister Jean Chrtien, Jacques Corriveau, ran an elaborate kickback scheme. But he made no mention of links to organized crime.”
Hear that, it was just a single “friend of Jean Chretien”. Gee that doesn’t sound like it involved the liberal party at all. Just one guy did this.
The sad thing is the Globe holds itself out as an impartial perveyor of facts. The sadder thing is most Canadians believe this.
Kate, I hope you post on this, this is blatant. The article is here:

  3. We know that the MSM will not report this. Not on the front pages or teasers. Not unless the word gets out. They can’t. It would ruin any credibility they think they have. It also will upset their agenda no end.
This is very nice news to read. Gratitude is good thing to show, isn’t it?
Thanks for the link, Kate! Another blog I have to watch. Sheesh! LOL

  4. That’s why the Tories are forcing the issue. Everything related to Adscam will be evidence in a court of law, including any info the FBI have on Gagliano. As Kate mentioned last night in her radio interview, Google Gagliano and you get a motherlode of stuff. The Libs are terrified, the G&M losing credibility because even a brick on four two legs knows you can’t throw accusations like that around without being able to substantiate them. The Tories have evidence, and I suspect from an unlikely source. MY concern at the moment is Peter MacKay’s new girlfriend: Sophie Desmarais. How sad is that? If he replaces Harper, well, guess what? He’ll now be connected to the rest of the Quebec bunch.

  5. The trial of Saddam, the Butcher of Baghdad, starts again on Monday, 28, November, 2005. Will it be live-blogged? Podcast?
Iraqi TV will have live coverage. Watch for Middle East reaction(s). >>>

Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005 9:08 a.m. EST Saddam’s Hangman Details Torture One of Saddam Hussein’s official hangmen is speaking to the media for the first time – offering a firsthand account of some of the torture techniques he used on Saddam’s orders. Recalling his time working at Iraq’s notorious Abu Ghraib prison, Abu Hussein [last name withheld] recalled that a new batch of political prisoners was brought in – without being charged with a crime – every week. Deserters from Iraq’s war with Iran faced the firing squad, the hangman told Reuters, while prisoners who had insulted Saddam were hanged…

  6. I think whoever concluded that the Red Crescent donated the $1M to Katrina relief is mistaken.
I’m pretty sure the donation really came from Bono.

  7. Does BellglobeMedia really think anbody cares what a lame-duck PM and a limp-dick rock star think? I mean really? Who cares? Both are washed up, one completely, the other fading fast.

  8. Someone (maybe, sda?) should put up a petition with Stephen Harper’s exact words on it, for MANY people to sign; offering Martin a chance to keep his lawyers busy by suing all who sign the petion.
