Angry’s chase of what appears to be an aboriginal company shell game has run smack into an iceberg.
David Smith, who sits in Parliament for the riding of Pontiac and claims to be an aboriginal, ran a company called Abotech, a computer consultancy firm, out of his home. Now the company is run by his wife, a nurse. Smith insists he has no idea what is going in Abotech.
Abotech has been caught up in a KPMG audit at PWGSC. Several contracts between Abotech and the federal government have been terminated. Why? No one is saying. Also, a bureaucrat named Frank Brazeau has been suspended without pay in connection with the audit. Frank Brazeau is also David Smith’s cousin. Why was he suspended? No one is saying.
The theory is that Frank Brazeau directed contracts meant to go to an aboriginal businesses to Abotech. Smith took his cut, and passed the work to a non-aboriginal firm. The evidence to back it up is in his archive of Abotech posts.
But then came news about a $30 billion lawsuit going forward against the Liberal government. Unions representing 300,000 public servants are suing to recover pension surplus money that Liberal finance minister Paul Martin took to pay down the government’s debt.
What does that have to do with Abotech?
Here’s something the newspapers haven’t reported. It turns out that the company that managed the RCMP pension fund, Morneau Sobeco, did not deal directly with the government. The government gave a lucrative contract to another company that would direct Morneau Sobeco in the management of the fund. In fact, that company set up the contract, selected Morneau Sobeco to execute the contract, and dealt with any contract amendments.
Presumably that contract included directing Morneau Sobeco to hand over pension fund surpluses to Paul Martin.
The name of that company? Abotech.
Was all that about aboriginal set-asides just a side business for Abotech? Was all this time the real story about David Smith’s involvement in the management, and mismanagement, of the pension funds of civil servants under the direction of the Liberal government?

On an aside the MSM has finally picked up on the proposed wiretap/e-mail legislation and now I hear the UN wants to take over the management of the internet from the U.S. agency that currently overseas it, smells of Maurice Strong don’t you think?
I’d suggest that we have a referendum in Canada to see whether we want to keep Quebec in the country. If Quebec were to separate, we’d get rid of Paul Martin, Jean Chetien, and all these Liberanos with one YES vote.
To coin a phrase from Brian Mulroney, what a complete abdication of responsibility we are seeing from our “free” press.
Whatever your political ideology, this kind of complicity can only be bought. I’d love to see the money trail that keeps the media onside.

The “money trail” linking the Libranos to the Media is right out in the open. The Libranos crime family has been appointing media darlings to patronage appointments all over the place. The last two GG’s just being the tip of the iceburg. Pamala Wallin is another. The list is long (although I don’t have a link to any difinitive source that lists them all. If someone else does, post it.)
Also note that the head of the Canwest Global empire (the now late Izzy Asper) was a card carrying Liberal who received $100 Million taxpayer dollars for a new museum in his home town of Winnipeg right before he died. His (also Liberal) son is now in charge. The family has been active in campaigning and funraising for the Liberal Party for a long time.
The head of the G&M (Greenspon) is reputed to be a close personal friend of Paul Martin. PMPM can count on the Globe’s undying support in any case.
The list is endless. That is why the press was all over the Mulroney Tories and couldn’t have been less curious of all the obvious criminality of the Libranos. They are the crime families insiders, the Made Men.

Up until now they have been beneficiaries of the scam. Like J. Edgar, having all of this dirt on the LP gives them tremendous power in leveraging money and other goodies. The only exception was during the cutbacks that were brought in early in the Chretien days when the RCMP moved to cutback on its most recognizable PR vehicle the musical ride. I have little doubt that the musical ride was selected for the axe precisely because it was the most visible and damaging to the LP (its soooo Canadian). In response the LP cut the RCMP in on the Adscam deal and the illegal deed was done to get the Musical Ride its funding.
Now this scam is different – the money is being stolen by liberal cronies not from the RCMP but from RCMP employees themselves. The gloves will come off I bet, and the leaks will begin just in time for the election.
