We’re A Voting Block!

Well, on my list of high points since beginning the blog, this rates right up there with the best of them – getting slagged in the provincial legislature by Learning MInister Andrew Thompson! From his throne speech reply:

” [And the] Bloggers are . . . weighing in [quote]: “Brad Wall is the real thing [says this blogger]. A gifted speaker . . . communicates with vision, optimism, conviction, humour . . . and apparently, without notes,” wrote Catherine McMillan of smalldeadanimals.com . . .
Well we may have to let the Leader of the Opposition have the small dead animal vote, but I will tell you that the Saskatchewan people that are going to go to the polls in the next election are not going to be swayed by the small dead animals approach to portraying the Sask Party leader as a visionary.”

The post he quoted from is here.
The Saskatchewan NDP hold a two seat majority in the legislature, a couple of those by only a few hundred votes.
Now, far be it for me to presume to “sway” my readers, but Mr. Thompson – perhaps you should meet my sitemeter. As of 9 am local time;

Total 1,245,624
Average Per Day 4,091
Last Hour 253
Today 1,108
This Week 28,639

A lot of those are Saskatchewan folk.
Now, what was that again about “the small dead animal vote”?

  1. If you can pull off that kind of influence, Kate, and actually kick the Sask socialists out of power – you may just convince me to move my family back to Saskatchewan.

  2. Sounds to me like he is tring to convince himself, more than anybody else. But I would thank him for making the uncommitted curious about SDA and bringing yet more traffic to this fine blog. This is where I send first timers when I have finally convinced them they need a source of information outside of the left-wing mesmo-zone.
If SDA is not a threat to him, why mention it? If it is a threat, why mention it? Nice move.

  3. Recognition by the MSM (Peter Warren) and now the governing party of Saskatchewan. Once again, well done Kate.

  4. Gawd, I love it!
Keep spanking them, Kate. We’re cheering!
By the way, I owe you many beers – or at least some free mechanical work on the Dodge!
    Mad Mike

  5. Good call by Shaken. If the NDP wasnt concerned about losing their stranglehold of the media in Saskatchewan, they wouldnt bother to bring it up. They know they cant count on 100% for their propaganda machine, and they are nervous. The false bravado gives it away.

  6. Just curious, since I am from Ontario, wich right there says I am challenged in many significant ways – what is the difference between ‘Education’ and ‘Learning’? Is it easier to spell? Faster to paint on the office door? Allows you to have both a Ministry of Education and a Ministry of Learning and nobody will notice?
Learning is the uptake of information, so what is this guy really? Minister of Information?

  7. Pretty amusing, eh? They made that momentous name change a few years ago. Perhaps someone close to the party was in need of a sign contract.

  8. Big effing deal. Daily traffic of 4,000 means you have about a 1,000 readers. Oops, probably 400 or so are either lefties who just want to see what stupid thing you’ll say next or American readers. So you have about 600 Canadian conservative readers. Lets say half of them are Saskatchewaners. That means you have a big whopping voting block of about 300 spread out over how many ridings. Bwahahaha!

  9. Ah Robert, Robert, Robert sit yourself down plant your face firmly between your legs and stick your head back up your ass please.

  10. They can fool all of the people-some of the time.
They can fool some of the people-all of the time.
But: how many people can they fool at Election time?

  11. As noted by “Robert McLelland’s” cackling laugh, he is actually Pat Morita reprising his Happy Days ‘role. Appearances by Ralph Malph (Donny Most) and Potsy (Anson whatever) expected very soon now.

  12. Dang, almost makes me want to move back to Moose Juice so I can write Mr. Thompson a letter stating I am part of the SDA block. Please note I said almost.
BTW: Looked up your link about the last election and noticed that the Dippers were almost all in the urban areas.
Also, does RM actually have a blog. Has anyone actually been there, and if so, why? Do conservative thinking people write in dis’ing him or does he sanitize the comments for that bright fresh moonie smell?
    Just wondering…

  13. Donny Most’s and the great Anson Williams'(toungue nearly bitten off here) charachters resided in the suburbs of Milwaukee, WI, which bears nothing on this thread other than I just wanted to pipe in, say nothing important or enlightening. Other than, of course, through my own learning and residence being not far from Milwaukee, I remember the names of actors in shows I despised.
Aside from that, I love our hostess’s insight and vitriolic humor, and beg her forgiveness for my trollishness.

  16. oh Robert McClelland does have a blog. And like most lefties edits the comments. In the new order freedom goes out the window first. Soviet systems can handle differing thought.

  17. The SDA vote may turn out to be bigger than they think. (small denomination bills in plain envelope, please.) Oh- Hi, Mama Sita! I’ll have the spaghetti, please- just a sec. I gotta use the washroom.

  18. Well we know that Mr. Thompson reads SDA. Now you just have to find out what pseudonym he’s commenting under. If he can’t resist shooting off his mouth in the Legislature, surely he wouldn’t be able to turn from the siren call of the open comment forum. Any sask.ca domains showing up in your comment moderator?

  19. Sitemeter envy.
Silly girl. I’ve transcended such egotistical nonsense as watching how much traffic I get. You should try to also. It prevents ridiculous bouts of megalomania.

  20. This robert idiot sure can show us all how to be more liberano like, can’t he? I hope he enjoys his fall from power.

  21. Robert McCLelland doesn’t actually exist.
He’s my own creation – a computer generated program that roams the net and simulates leftie commentors.
It’s really unbelievable how many people have been taken in by it.

  22. So Kate those magical words “every time you lie you make the baby Jesus cry” are actually yours? I call bullshit.

  23. C’mon Kate, next time invent a more intelligent-sounding simulation. This one is fun, but limited – like Pong.

  24. Kate,
Al Delvechio, Leather and Pinkie Tuscadaro, as well as Chachi just phoned to say that they’re very disappointed in Robert McLelland’s inflatable boyfriend pedigree.
Its really taken the wind out of their sails.

  25. Robert M. is demonstrating the integrity of the Leftie Way of Things: while espousing, nay, celebrating, the diversity and tolerance of religion, he reaches for it immediately to wield as a club.
A particularly oustanding example of a complete orifice.

  26. I hear that Thompson will probably be the next leader of the SK NDP. Is he afraid? I really don’t understand why he would mention your blog, unless he finds fault with the name? You definitely got their attention! By deriding tbe site, tehy acknowledge that it’s a force to be reckoned with.

  27. Thanks again Kate, You have saved the sanity of many of your readers who could not stomach the MSM ‘press gang’ and needed to hear a voice that reflected their views – you gave us more, you gave us inspiration and a space to write about the inspiration you sparked. Now you will have a major role in saving Sask from colorless culvert and his murder of crows/vultures. It has been a long time since so many owed so much to one (my apologies to Winston Churchill for the ‘misquote’- but on the same note).
Cost of getting rid of culvert(s) – +$1,000,000
Cost to Sask for not getting in on oil boom prices – +$1,ooo,ooo
Thanks owed to Kate for producing SDA – PRICELESS.

  28. When you folks in Sask. finally turf the wheatfield commies and drive that final stake through the heart of TC Douglas’ army of the undead, maybe we can do some mutually beneficial business.
    Signed King Klein

  29. I find it amusing how you all seem to say lefties. Not that I am on any political side other than the middle for the sake of keeping myself objective. Anyone that catagorises themselves gives one more prospect for free thought. When a person resigns himself/herself to a catagory it makes them have a sense of belonging. So they will try their damn hardest to be as much like the group as they can. Often times they will fool even themselves into believing every single thing that the group does MUST be the right thing. Therefore closing a door to objective analysis. Anyone that writes themselves off as one certain way automatically closes a door to new and free thinking.

  30. I’m sure that Mr. Thompson meant that we, in Saskatchewan, won’t need to be swayed by SDA about the Sask Party because we are smart enough to see how gifted Brad Wall is on our own. Rest in peace, NDP.

  31. Psst note to the Rev. Lorne C. : Annex Alberta before it Seppppparates; the pols in Alberta are arguing; they will not notice your stealth theft. See : Rev. 3: 5-16 RSV. [CP is the mouthpiece of the Librano$; the envy, malice is oozing out of their press releassses.]>>>
Alberta’s surplus swells to $5.9 billion
EDMONTON (CP) – It’s on track to surpass the entire budget of Saskatchewan, so it’s no wonder politicians in Alberta are arguing about how best to spend the province’s energy-fuelled budgetary surplus. >>>> via cnews
