  1. i did not filed the 2005 taxes ….i do not want my money go to commies, I left commie land 20 years ago and hate, I think our PM should be shut, one dead for the masses.

  2. Hmmm… if the former Soviet Union called in the KGB to investigate stuff the government had done, does anyone really think the KGB would pursue evidence that led straight to the top?
I really don’t see the RCMP as being the organization to trust to investigate wrongdoing when the government is involved. There’s way too much political control of it. Besides, they’ve been kept deliberately underfunded, understaffed and underresourced by the Libranos. Strapped for cash? Nope– huge surpluses galore, but none for the RCMP. It all goes to friends of Librano$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!

  3. We need a new organization– one with absolute, impervious-to-political-influence power and unlimited funding to investigate and, if necessary, prosecute, the government, including the Prime Minister.
I see no evidence of such an organization. The Auditor General has a limited mandate and no powers to force accountability on anyone. Gomery’s mandate and scope were carefully limited to protect Paul Martin and his regime. The RCMP is out of the question, thanks to political interference and control.
There’s a huge, gaping hole in the system of governance in Canada. It’s a hole that exists in totalitarian regimes. It makes Canada a special case in the world, with free elections, but beyond that, the government pretty much does whatever the hell it sees fit. The people are tolerating totalitarianism as long as they keep electing this corrupt Liberal regime.

  4. I can bet Laydown, Layton has been doing some fast Constituency polling, “should I or shouldn’t I vote with the Opposition to bring down the Gov’t”? The NDP have not moved in the polls, and should Layton affiliate himself with what he admits to “Corruption” with the Liberan$, he could possible scare the real NDP’s, the old CCFers out of the party, and the the party would be left with a handful of the hard chore Marxists? Then again, if he goes with the Opposition, he could steal votes from the Liberal dissenters and try and steal a few more ridings, and become an NDP hero with the balance of power with a minority Conservative Govt, with the Bloc and the Liberals as Opposition LOL.
Stranger things have happened: only in Kanada you say?
    Stephen Parkville BC ww2 vet.

  5. It looks like Stephen Harper has entered the fray now, basically saying that if the LIberals werent in power these investigations would be much further ahead now. Landslide Annie has come out screaming against Harper, the usual bullshit, and most likely all the attack dogs in the media will be on it today. Lets see where it goes. Via neale news.

  6. The NDs have always whored themselves on principle. Then they practice the indignant act- Ed Broadbent, Steven Lewis , Svend and Layton, always in front of the press wideeyed and indignant but deflecting from the issue to some pet issue whether health care or “walking hand in hand with the man I love”
Gotta love New Pravdas spin to the NDP and to Chretiens take , I suppose they think we are tired of hearing they stole 300 million and will pay back 1.14

  7. That’s actually a very good message for Harper. It’s not that I’m totally enamored with Harper and the CPC (’cause I’m not), but we need to change our government to root out this Liberal garbage. The real problem in Canada right now isn’t that there’s an independent investigative body (as good as that would be), it’s that so many Canadians cannot see fit to vote for anybody but Liberal. CBC this morning talking to some immigrants in Winnipeg who are feeling disillusioned by the Liberals – the CBC take on the story was ‘how hard the Liberals will have to work to get back their vote’. Why is any group that stuck on one party? I’d vote Liberal if a CPC government was pulling 1/4 of the crap that the Liberals are getting away with right now. How do so many justify their votes for these crooks?

  8. The judiciary and all commissioner’s have to be appointed by something other than the PMO and the PM. Perhaps a council of the Premier’s and Territorial leader’s. The current RCMP Commissioner was appointed by Chretien and does anyone recall the problem with a bank account that the RCMP had that was outside the normal operating rules? Shortly after it was exposed Zacardelli said he fixed the problem by putting the funds into an official RCMP account. Investigation closed!

  9. Will Cretin’s judicial review of Gomery effectively shut down any further discussion questions about Gomery in the House? Not sure about the legal aspects of this, but since even bitter rivals know when to join ranks when winning is at stake, it seems to me that by demanding an inquiry into the inquiry (sigh…), Cretin has done Martin and the Liberals a favour.

  10. Look, you could even appt judges out of Parliament if you stuck to the Judiciary Committee (is that what it’s called) and left the PM out of it. In the States it’s a function of the executive to nominate judges, but in Canada perhaps it would be healthier to keep it in the legislature. I forget at the mo if you’d have to amend your Const for this tho.

  11. I like your attitude George….if more Canadians engaged in a tax revolt we might be able to force government to stop running in secret and be accountable, accessable and open to the public…..this is what I want in exchange for the vast tax burden we shoulder…..It is a fair exchange I believe.
Personally I won’t be satisfied with just the mounties charging and indicting adscam crooks…I want them sentenced to the same severity you or I can expect when we rob or plunder public funds…..In the Liberals case this is far more serious a crime…it was criminal, bordering on treasonous, breech of public trust. Jail the perpetraitors, then maybe I will recognize this government’s moral authority to govern….but not before. As far as I’m concerned the stage play they are putting on with inquiries and the RCMP are pure theater…..I want liberals and liberal bag men, mobsters and politicians who are found complicit behind bars…THIS ( as Martin is prone to say) SENDS THE RIGHT MESSAGE!…..and I want a systemic change that will never allow this amount of unaccountable power to rob us again.

  12. I also can’t understand what Layton is doing.
The Liberal party is corrupt and disgusting when it uses $100M of taxpayers’ money to buy Quebec votes because it’s an insult to Quebecers.
But when they use $4.6B of taxpayers’ money to buy NDP votes…this is “doing something for Canadians”?
Has anyone thought to point out the obvious to Mr. Layton? I.e. that we’ve now established what he is but are just haggling over price?

  13. Corrupt or not, the Liberal strategy will be the same. When the election is called the Liberals will travel the country (except Alberta) to tell Canadians “Even if we did steal your money, do you really want those scary American-loving Conservatives to be in power? They’ll take away your health care, they’ll ban abortions, they’ll force everyone to buy guns and grow mulletts and watch NASCAR! Do you really want that?!” Paul Martin and his gang could stand on Parliament HIll and wipe their collective butts with the Canadian flag, and millions of people would still vote for them.

  14. “The question now is: Can they stomach voting for Stephen Harper and the Conservatives?
On the strength of yesterday’s performance by the Tory leader, that answer is likely to remain a firm no.
Harper was correct to point out the Liberal party campaigned in two elections using millions of dollars stolen from taxpayers and must be held to account. But he still looks like he was weaned on a pickle — too black and bitter and angry to offer hope to Canadians who are desperate to feel good about their government again.”
the Liberal party has lost the moral right to govern

  15. Take your time. No hurry. Feed the horses. Polish your belt. Clean your guns. No hurry. Clean the stables. Take your time. No hurry. Take … ten years, 20 years, coffee break >>>> AdScam Martin told us not to hurry. Take your time, Const. S. L’Heureux. Maintiens Le Droit.
RCMP spokesman Const. Sylvain L’Heureux said “fraud investigations are always long-term, and because it is not an urgent matter, you take your time.” >>>

  16. Prime Minister Martin said the following in his statement November 1 on the Gomery Report:
“I have instructed that 12 additions be made to the list of people and companies against which the federal government has filed suit to recover public funds.”
    http://pm.gc.ca/eng/news.asp?id=621
This action to have gone largely un-noticed by the media. But it should be carefully considered as it is deeply frightening. On what authority does a prime minister personally order that civil suits be brought by the government? I can think of none. This action is clearly unconstitutional, usurps the authority of the Attorney General of Canada (justice minister), and constitutes an abuse of position and power.
Even Nixon could not legally order a prosecution.

  17. I disagree that Harper looked black, bitter and angry. He looked cool, calm and collected. And if he were black, bitter and angry, why shouldn’t he be. He’s a Canadian isn’t he? Wasn’t his tax money stolen ,too? I’m black, bitter and TWISTED that those people stole my money and I’m a Canadian. Why should Harper be denied the same feelings as ordinary Canadians? Oh, yeah, because the Eastern media doesn’t like angry people. Go ahead, everybody, vote Liberal and you won’t get classified as “angry”.You’ll still have to work yor ass of to make ends meet and you still won’t meekly inherit the earth. But at least you won’t be “angry”.
    What a country!

  18. …”fraud investigations are always long-term, and because it is not an urgent matter, you take your time.”…
Well that’s one way to ensure that you have a job for life.
I wonder if the same strategy was used when the Air India bombing was being investigated.

  19. You can see where all of this is going: Nowhere. But if the Tories manage to pull off a win, Gomery will be re-opened, the mandate expanded and a REAL investigation will be allowed to take place. I’d even expand the auditors roles so they can dig deeper. Ivison’s column in today’s NP is something else. When I looked in the mirror this a.m., I saw a prune-faced old bag not because of sun damage but I FEEL sour and pissed off because Layton won’t do the right thing and pull the plug. The Libs must be laughing their asses off at him. What is he afraid of. Mind you, this is a guy who lived in Ontario subsized housing while a city hall councillor, so I guess it’s no surprise if he’s lacking in the ethics’ area. Too bad the rest of us have to pay for it though.

  20. Zimbabwe North?
    Good over the top stuff!!
I guess the bulldozers must be knocking down your home right now; with all those, as Trudeau
    called them, “Westmount Rhodhesians”!!
Canada has some 1/3 of the worlds fresh water supply, if my geography lessons serve me correctly. Thus we may conclude on the other hand, that many native bands don’t even have third world class drinking water according to recent news stories. Hence the Zimbabwe North analogy may hold some water!
Of course Mugabe would never let himself be investigated, nor his party.
One could perhaps make the case for “Bananada”.

  21. JM caught the “20 years” in the comment above. Did not the so-called “investigation” of the Air India murders take 20 years, more or less? Was this not the murder of Hindus by Sikhs?
The systemic rot/sickness in the Canadian psyche has no bounds. Canada, a country which is now a third-world dictatorship;Canada, a country with no soul, adrift in a murderous world.
Canadians are slaves of a criminal socialist regime with AdScam Martin as the putative leader. The power rests with the Cartel built and managed by Power Corp.
There is one sliver of hope: the Liberal Party may self-destruct and commit suicide. Is there not one decent, honourable person of integrity in the Liberal Party? We await your name?

  22. Nov 2
ADSCAM already off of Pravdas website headlines. back to finding anything they can hate the yanks for.

but not to what matters to the taxpayer.
should have a watered down report tonight from keith the cheerleader boag.

  23. Sliver of Hope? Fear is the little sister of Hope, being tied to Hope’s apron by solid strings. Have no fear, Peter Adams. Do the right thing.
Walk into the sunlight, Peter Adams, Liberal MP. Jump off CSL AdScam Martin’s pirate ship before it takes you down with it. >>>>>>>
    Lance Anderson –
The federal Liberal Party isn’t off the hook, says Peterborough MP Peter Adams, even though Prime Minister Paul Martin has been exonerated in the highly-anticipated Gomery Report.
Released Tuesday, the report, authored by Justice John Gomery, names those responsible for the mismanagement of millions of taxpayers’ dollars in what has become widely known as the sponsorship scandal.
It paints the Liberals a nasty colour of red that MP Adams admits will be difficult to clean.
“I take my share of the blame,” said MP Adams late Tuesday afternoon following a turbulent day in the House of Commons.
“I supported the sponsorship program. I thought it was a good idea.”
However, he never anticipated the scandal that would explode from a program apparently aimed at promoting federalism in Quebec.
MP Adams hopes Prime Minster Martin is credited for commissioning the report and making the scandal’s details known to the public, despite how that makes the federal Liberal party appear.
MP Adams admits to being “ashamed” of being a Liberal a couple of times during his political career, adding the party can’t undo what’s been done. >>>>>

  24. Crap on the RCMP….Firewall Harper finds himself another sure-shot vote getter. What a dork. This is becoming so pathetic. Next it’ll be the international Tim Horton conspiracy that will be denying the CPC power. Appaerently double-double is a code for something really, really, really mysterious and bad. Only you losers could find a way to keep a turkey like Martin in power.

  25. From the pile of shit on the left.
“One hundred million bucks! And Chretien comes in, wipes the floor with them in thirty minutes, doesn’t spend a cent, then goes home to watch the hockey game. Chretien wins again, without breaking into a sweat. We were laughing at that, and my friend said I should put that up on my little website. So I just did.”
Is this guy a parody of himself, like Madden? I have to assume the dude is the only one SERIOUSLY havin’ a Good heary chuck about this? I mean, if you long for the days of a Prime Minister MORE than willing to keep “improprieties” under wraps(#4 “key fact”)… So I guess martini should do well in the polls, as he’s just a guy “Good” enough to be getting to the bottom of this, and “lucky” enough to know 0.00 about it while it was happening.

  26. From Canadian Sentinel:
“We need a new organization– one with absolute, impervious-to-political-influence power and unlimited funding to investigate and, if necessary, prosecute, the government, including the Prime Minister.”
Yeah, it’s called the American Military. We should be so lucky.

  27. Our system lacks the checks and balances required for true democracy and accountability. Dramatic reforms are required. I hope for my children’s sake that this country turns around. The Liberals have made a mockery of it, at home, and abroad. Where’s George Orwell when you need a good satire written? Scrap the Westminster system. It’s useless here, and has led to the Quebec tail wagging the Canadian dog. Hence the power of the Liberal Party, and their increasingly bold acts of flagrant betrayal of public trust. Disgusting, power-hungry, hypocritical, lying thieves.

  28. OF course I can’t find the photo anymore, but the picture of Paul Martin at his press conference flanked by Brison and Laperierre(sic) brought to mind this quote:
“The first method of estimating the intelligence of a ruler is to look at the men he has around him” (Niccolo Machiavelli, The Prince).
