DoubleMint Dingwall – An Insider Blows The Whistle

Tune into Peterwarren.ca if you can’t pick him on on radio. He has a former high-ranking official from the Canadian Mint on at the moment, who is disputing the Liberals claims that David Dingwall was responsible for “turning around the fortunes” of the Canadian Mint.
Initial point: the price of gold has skyrocketed since Dingwall took the posting. (From $330 – $475)
(The media can sound a collective “D’oh!” now.)
Listen live here. If you catch this post after the fact, the show keeps radio archives.

  1. It’s just a matter of time before Dingwall burys himself. It will be an interesting tuesday when Gomery throws down–

  2. It’ll be interesting to see the Lie-beral spin doctor’s try to twist this into a pretzel.

  3. Peter Warren said also on his program this morning that, within the next two weeks, he will be talking about the Federal Govt. giving the Native affairs in excess of $3 Billion (That is 3 plus nine zeros) for water treatment in the last 5 years.
I guess the money had to be Martinized or Cretienized before it could be used for clean water on the reserves.

  4. MOST band chiefs and councils are just as crocked as the gomery goons. And the DIA allows it to continue because they don’t require ANY accountablity.
IT IS A WELL KNOWN FACT THAT MOST INDIANS VOTE LIBERAL so there is no impetus to correct it.
I get so discouraged when it is so apparent that EVERY F**KEN thing the federal govt does is ONLY in the interest of getting re-elected. Never mind if it is good or bad for the country, will it get us votes.

  5. There is a ton of corruption within a lot of Bands and I also agree that there is little or no accountability but to say they all vote liberal is a bit of a stretch.

  6. “Just as crocked as the gomery goons. ”
Puhleeze, let’s call a spade a spade! They are Thieving Liebral Mafia goons – let’s not mislead the poor Kanuck sheep anymore than the pathetic left-wing MSM has done already!

  7. Daycare deal announced
Montreal Gazette – 11 hours ago
The signing of a new $1.1-billion federal-provincial deal on child care financing turned into a federalist love-in yesterday as politicians boasted that, despite occasional spats, Canada as a country works>>>>>>>>>>>>

  8. Good for Quebec, maybe.
But not for New Brunswickers. No deal for us herring chokers from Paulie. He won’t allow us to have the flexibility he gave Quebec. He even sent Scott Brison over to do a drive-by slam against Premier Lord. This kind of federal-provincial partisan sniping hasn’t been seen here in a long time.
Once again the ruling Paul Martin Liberals want to treat the provinces differently. For Quebec, they’ll give them whatever they demand whereas for NB, they want to keep us dependent. No way do they want to cut the strings attached to the transfers. They obviously have a different, hidden agenda for each province.
This on the heels of the Libranos’ refusal to help the NB gov’t with the refurbishment of the Point Lepreau Nuclear Generating Station. Why did they give our tax dollars to the always-iffy Bombardier in Quebec? Isn’t electricity generation important, too? Isn’t New Brunswick as important as Quebec and Ontario to the Liberals?
Nope, under the ruling Paul Martin Liberals, the federation doesn’t work. It is in danger for so many reasons, many of which are directly attributable to the Liberals. Just look at the rise of separatism not only in Quebec but especially in Alberta and the West. Do the Liberals want the Maritimes to break off from the mainland while they’re at it?
I would predict the Liberals will lose more seats to the Conservatives in NB in the next election. More vote-buying in key ridings might not be sufficient to compensate for the way they’ve treated us in NB.

  9. Don’t blame the liberals for getting themselves elected, blame the idiots mostly in Eastern Canada and more specifically in Toronto, for re electing these gangsters.
Yes my pretty, a gangster is a membert of a criminal organization, and the Liberals are a gang AKA political party, but in reality and by evidence at Gomery and many other places, they are also a criminal organization. Why don’t they go to jail …. because they own the jails, the police … what’s left of the army and a large enough pack of Canadian fools to guarantee their continued operation.
We get what we deserve and only a civil war (which will happen in the US first) will change anything.
Remember this … no meaningful has EVER come about peacefully. So when you hear someone say that war is never the answer, you say … war is ALWAYS the answer and our history proves it time and time again.
One can only guess at what a great country this could be if we had a REAL government. Same goes for most backwater one party states eh what?
Even a wall flower … with a bit of excersize, dieting and some make up can get laid. Canada prefers to masterbate under the covers .. with a flash light. And don’t bother checking the sheets .. the laundry room is off limits.

  10. Meaningful CHANGE that is. Sorry. I just got off my bike and my brain is still frozen … finger too.

  11. Tuesday we shall see. While it will be nice to see someone FINALLY call the Chretienites to account I fear a Martin whitewash. I do think Mr Dingwall and his Chief of Staff are going to be angry on Tuesday.
On another topic, Duke…gentle reminder that only in Quebec and Alberta are the Liberals NOT in first place. Every other province has the Liberals in first place. Gentle point, Sir Duke, gentle point….

  12. Nah, “they” (hint $$$$) didna do it. No, “they” can/will go into your accounts at will; garnishee your wages at will; rifle your “safety (sic) deposit box” box at will; bug your phone/’puter at will; audit your income tax return at will; dole out cash in brown envelopes at will, & etc.
OTOH, …. who knows all, all, all about you? What’s a passport? >>>

  13. I’m too lazy to listen to the piece. Anyone want to sum up how the price of gold rising would help the mint? I’d assume they’d have to pay higher costs for acquiring gold if the price rose, wouldn’t they? Or does the mint own the gold?

  14. Stephen…the LIEberals are playing that most sucessful of gambits in their war on a democratic Canada: Divide and Conquer. And it is working very well, thank you.
Hey CS…didn’t know you hailed from my neck of the woods. And I hate to disagree(naw, not really),but the Feds have been screwing us herring chockers since this joint started.

  15. Todd, rising gold prices signify (usually) political uncertainty/instability in the world, and can also be a precursor to inflation. When people aren’t sure where to park their money, they buy gold. In fact, up until the late 80s you could buy it without any tracking done (i.e. the gov’t didn’t know you had it). Of course, they changed that (I can’t recall whether that was Mulroney or Chretien, but people were pissed…I think Mulroney), so that in the event of a monetary collapse and the need to back the dollar with gold, they would know who had it (and could, if the paranoids out there were right, confiscate it).
In short, in times of instability, people hoard gold – it’s compact, easily moved and you can sell it just about everywhere. (Remember the gold fillings the Nazis were after?)

  16. I guess I should finish that: so MORE people were buying the Mint’s product than might normally, at higher prices (and who knows what price the Mint originally paid for the gold? If they’d bought a bunch around the $300 mark, think of the profits).

  17. Todd: Check out the Mint’s Pope Paul 11’s commemorative gold coin- your cost:500 bucks, gold content: 75 bucks. (And is it still possible to buy Maple Leaf gold coins in Quebec without paying sales tax on them?)

  18. The Liberals always make a good showing in the polls in BC prior to elections. Then the election comes and we see the real unvarnished poll.
If ya believe one of these Liberal polls you are as dumb as they want you to be.
    enough

  19. Actually, Justthinkin’, you do know me. I just changed to a new identity in September.
I agree to an extent about the feds screwing the Atlantic from the beginning, but it got to be far worse ever since the Liberals invented Canadian socialism. I’m too young to pinpoint exactly when it started, but also ACOA (with Mulroney, I think it was) was a big mistake for the region. It doesn’t help; it distorts. But it’s certainly possible to fix the problems as long as there will be politicians with ‘nads to do what it takes and take electoral risks. Stephen Harper’s the one to watch. He understands the region, actually. He cares about the truth about what works and what doesn’t and will do what’s necessary as PM to help the Atlantic to prosper again.
    We’ll see.

  20. Trick, or treat?
As night falls on the nation’s capital this Halloween, Paul Martin’s government will once again be haunted by the ghosts of Liberal slime and sleaze, the money-sucking ghouls of Adscam rising once more from the pages of the first Gomery report.

  21. Horny Toad is right about the Aboriginals being LIEberal voters.
We live right in the middle of 23 reservations, 4 right next door to our town, 70% of our town population is aboriginal. For them voting out LIEberals is voting in accountability, they will not have that. I worked for years within their organizations and on their reserves, this is their view. It is called “block voting” here, not so obvious at the town polls but on the reservations someone stands beside the voter and says something like “second one from the top” or whatever it is and they do it, no questions asked, don’t even know the candidates name. Not a single ballot from any reserve here was cast for another party. I have written to the Conservatives a few times telling them that they must figure out a way to appeal to the aboriginal population which only continues to grow. I am thinking a million bucks per man, woman and child but complete self government with no more money would do it. Okay, I didn’t write THAT part but they must work on it. Yes, several family members are aboriginal but thankfully they are decent Conservative folk who actually WORK and earn their own money.
Funny story: last election the NDP here killed themselves and pulled out all the stops for the aboriginal population, they supplied every single ride, courted them to excess and spent a ton of money on them, we all thought they had it and the LIEberals hardly lifted a finger. Nope, landside victory here for the LIEberals and the NDP nearly went nuts, it was funny! We have NEVER had a Conservative MP here, starting to think we never will.

  22. Todd, Mint profits are tied to production runs for outside customers. It’s a specialized printing and minting service. Small countries like San Marino get their currency and stamps printed by off shore shops.
The mint is like a print shop. It makes profits on the printing orders it fills.
    It’s a service TG

  23. Yup, but I still don’t think anyone has answered how rising gold prices would have helped the mint. I assume the mint doesn’t have huge stores of gold (but maybe I’m wrong). I know the mint does work for other countries, but I assume their costs go up if the price of gold goes up too. Oh well… Maybe I’ll listen to the piece to try to understand it. 🙂
