Two reasons Duceppe is staying put

Angry has two theories as to why Gilles Duceppe plans to stay in Ottawa instead of taking the reins of the Parti Quebecois.

Possibility #1: The PQ might win the next referendum.
Possibility #2: The PQ might not win the next referendum.

How can you argue with that?

  1. Eh, and here I thought it was because he was a coward. From Lapierre’s mouth to God’s ear, and all that. *cough*

  2. The swag continues to get shovelled into Quebec, either way. And what better place to be, (for a person representing only a fraction of the population of Quebec), to negotiate the separation of Quebec, with a collection of criminal losers, who mostly come from Quebec?
Cheque, svp- small bills in plain envelope, even better.

  3. The real reason Duceppe is staying is that he is no longer a separatist.
Ten years in Ottawa cashing federal govt checks and seeing the country-wide attention paid to Que. he has seen the light…
Stay in Ottawa, keep beefing up your pension assets and never be responsible for anything other than saying “fiscal imbalance”, no budgets to write, no referendums to organize, no radical separatists…that party is so Ottawacized at this point none of them ever want to leave.

  4. I had heard his reason was it would be difficult to play in two elections at the same time, watch for him to step down after the next fed election
