Dentyne Frost Bites

Is it just me, or is the Dentyne Frost Bites commercial about the most revolting ad ever created?
A man and woman in the back seat of a cab – he fills his mouth with the chewing gum, turns to ice, she and the driver start screaming and his head falls off in her lap.
Ugh.

  1. In my area a attractive young thing fills her mouth with it and kiss the nose of her annoying little yap dog ( looks cute inthe shot though).
Which proceeds to get a frosted nose.
    Whatever.

  2. Yes, I’ve seen that commercial. Revolting is not the word. I tried to e-mail the company but was unable. Strange. I wonder why. It should be banned. I’ve seen much milder ones banned. It is appalling what things they can show on TV, and yet no swearing or nudity on network TV. Makes you wonder.

  3. I have emailed my comments about this horror of a commercial to Dentyne:
they can be reached at: http://dentyne.com/index2.html (follow the contact links)
Also contacting the networks that air it is a good idea…I have.

The new Dentyne Frost Bites commercial you are airing; with the frozen decapitated head falling on the girl’s lap is in such poor taste it’s hard to believe! In the wake of Nicholas Berg’s beheading witnessed by the world, I would think if the Dentyne Company couldnt show a little sensitivity! Not only does this commercial show no consideration for millions of adult viewers, it scared my 4 year old, who went screaming out of the room (It is being aired in the mid-afternoon!). I can understand a bad advertising agency pitching this lame idea…I can’t understand why Dentyne would choose to pay for it and worseair it!
I can only hope you get enough complaints to take this horror off the air.

  4. To Matt:
Let’s see if you post the same comment once you’ve become an ADULT and have children who are exposed to this kinda crap.

  5. I’d also like to point out the picture of the dead animal at the top of the page. Good job being hypocrites everyone.

  6. Thanks Big Boo for the support – Matt your trying to be right with a point. My kids do not surf this site and are limited to only a few websites. We were watching an afternoon kids program when this commercial popped up…no one is being a hypocrite except Dentyne/Cadbury who sells a lot thrir product to kids.

  7. Hey, I just wanted to say that one one level, where the young male has no conscience until he has produced and cared for offspring, then the commercial is humorous, but, for those of us that have matured and have children, then the images are graphic and frankly, quite horrifying to younger kids. And, Matt? Please, grow up, responding with a “Please die” is not only unneccesary, but just further proves that you don’t have the maturity to make adult decisions or the ability to back up your argument. Thanks for your time, folks….

  9. Matt, Dana,
You guys are both right. It’s just tv advertising. But, a ‘beheading’ is the ultimate act of violence to a person. We are horrified by the beheadings in the Middle East.
Maybe those bastards would love this commercial.
    Maybe call it “Dentyne Terrorists”?
“A flavour you’ll lose your head over.”
