The Royal Bank of Canada, the largest financial institution in the country, is currently experiencing a temporary downtime of its nationwide computer system. A simple glitch that occured during a program update, they said. “All fixed by tomorrow!”.
That was 3 days ago.
So, I’m thinking I’ll be rushing in the door of my bank in a few days and screaming, “Betty! What happened to that $10K deposit I made Wednesday????”
Don’t laugh – the payroll firm our company uses makes deposits through the Royal. I was supposed to get paid yesterday. A quick look at my bank balance this morning through President’s Choice Financial shows that I still haven’t been paid.
I switched from the Royal to PC Financial 4 years ago to avoid shit like this, but the bastards are still dogging me.
I have a wire transfer coming in from Finland…..
