Hundreds of women are murdered every year in the USA by their spouses. A significant percentage of those will be pregnant.
So, please, someone explain to me – why does the Scott Peterson trial merit any attention whatsoever outside of the Modesto, CA area? What can possibly be in the minds of the editors and news directors who choose this schlock to feed us day in and day out, at the expense of real news items?
You’ll notice, I have provided no link to any of the reports on the trial. It does not deserve one.

In that vein what’s the Jon Benet kid still doing on the tabloids?

I agree completely. I felt the same way when Diana died. Sure, she was a Royal, and her death meritted front page news for a couple of days. But weeks and weeks of wall to wall coverage? It might seem cruel of me to bring this up, but I think this trend of making relatively minor tragedies into non-stop grief orgies is indicative of some sort of shared masochistic streak.
I have said since Diana’s untimely death-by-rich-playboy, that it was only a matter of time until she ended up
underwaterwith a Kennedy, anyhow.
