Y2Kyoto: Targeted For Extinction

Peter Hitchens;

It will soon be impossible to criticise the fanatics of Extinction Rebellion.

In fact, I will not be at all surprised if, in years to come, I and others face prosecution for having dared to doubt them.

Soon we will be sitting in an impoverished, dark country, with a trashed economy, incessant power cuts and dismal standard of living, caused by their dogma.

Putting people on trial for warning against this will be one way to keep warm and occupied.

So, while I still may, I’ll say that this is one of the nastiest and stupidest outbreaks of intolerant, irrational zealotry since mankind emerged from the Dark Ages. I speak as a former intolerant zealot, who grew out of it.

I know the fierce joy which comes from despising others, only too well. And I fear it.
So, off we go into the cold and dark, while the red-clad propaganda mummers simper and gesticulate. Protesters are pictured at a ‘grief march’ in London last week
Will sane people have to glue themselves to aircraft and bridges to get anyone to listen? And if they do, will they be indulged by our politicised, biased police, as the Warmists are?

Perhaps the most dispiriting version of it is to be seen in the painted, beatific faces of the red-robed mime-artists who are to be found on so many of the demonstrations demanding that this country commits economic suicide.

Who can tell what is going on behind those self-satisfied, ethereal expressions? But they give these marches a strong whiff of the Age of Inquisitions, which I once thought we had escaped.

I won’t try to argue here on the rightness or wrongness of the Warmists’ theory about the causes of climate change.

I know from long, multiple experience that they respond to reasonable doubt with fury and defamatory cries of ‘denier’.

I spend much of my life in debate, and will take on any rational opponent. But there are some causes you can’t reason with, and this is one of them.

They prefer fury to logic. This is always the sign of someone who is not sure of his own case, and hates to hear his inner doubts spoken.

  1. Mother Nature will have the last word and last laugh. We are in a Grand Solar Minimum and will be facing food shortages soon. When that happens the pitch forks will come out finally. Londoners are a sign of what to expect. When families get hungry, the greasy politicians and their UN brainwashed Extremist’s will be hunted out and tracked down. Just like in the French Revolution. We will hear the clack of the knitting needles. Go UDI Alberta.

      1. Crop losses world wide due to low solar output. What is all that ice and snow on the fields when the UN and IPCC said we were all going to overheat and melt. Total UN IPCC Green Communist Scam. Prepare for food inflation and shortages. NASA is predicting the lowest solar output next year in Solar Cycle 25 in 200 years. I was a farmer/rancher and low solar output means late springs with early frosts and early frost and snow in the fall much earlier than normal. The bread baskets of Canada and the USA are devastated this year. And next year will be worse. Wake up and prepare.

    1. Well Watcher, if government policies create a survival problem for me then I know where I will be getting everything necessary for survival, and the government will have to kill me face to face to stop me from taking what the so called political elite have.

    1. Food shortages? The increased food production from increased CO2 has saved the world from famine.

  2. I keep thinking that at some point a line will be crossed and the general population will wake up and realize what a giant hoax has been perpetrated upon them…but lately I’m starting to think the majority of people deserve to have their bank accounts emptied by the proverbial Nigerian prince.

Alberta needs to get out of this disaster in the making sooner than later.

      1. JJM, do you live in a different country? You don’t seem to have much of a clue, if you live in Canaduh.
Usually the first to die scream the loudest. After a while, they become resigned to their fate, and soon they march right on in. You seem to want to destroy the economy of Alberta forever. Maybe, the people that live in Alberta would like to make a living again after 5 years of IMPOSED government, and associated economic depression.

      2. clarification if I may:
        it’s about . . . . HOW THE ROC TREATS . . . . . . Alberta.
        m’kay? aka it’s ‘about’ Canaduh.

        1. There is no “ROC”; it’s a figment of your fevered mind.

There are 10 different provinces with 10 different agendas, all juggling for some advantage or another.

          1. Different agendas:
Newfoundland: bribe us with social services funded from other provinces’ successful industries, e.g. Alberta’s oil.
Nova Scotia: bribe us with social services funded from other provinces’ successful industries, e.g. Alberta’s oil.
New Brunswick: bribe us with social services funded from other provinces’ successful industries, e.g. Alberta’s oil.
Quebec: bribe us with money from other provinces’ successful industries, e.g. Alberta’ oil, we are a separate nation, we’ll fund our own social services.
Ontario: bribe Quebec with money from other provinces’ successful industries, e.g. Alberta’s oil and leave them alone so they’ll let us run the rest of the country.

      3. What planet are you from…? seemingly one where they dont teach reading skills. There are tons of subjects being debated talked about here. And SDA is situated in Saskatchewan.
Go read the red star sonny.

  3. The religion of Wokeness and one of its off shoots, the climate emergency cult, is in it’s teenage phase – angry, self centered, rebellious, irrational, the constant crisis and drama, poor decision making, oblivious to the needs of others, dangerously immature, ignorant of economic reality, naively idealistic thinking, obnoxious.

      1. It’s not a suprise that the poster child of this religous/political movement is a 16yo girl and not someone with adult responsibilities and life experience. It is certainly not a movement driven by the urban working class or rural poor. In fact, it harms these groups the most. This political religion is upper class with Hollywood style marketing – like a low budget Divergence or Hunger Games knock off.

      1. Religious fanaticism always looks stupid to those not brainwashed by a cult. Within the cult, it somehow makes sense.

XR aren’t the most radical environmentalists the world has seen. An ancient Buddhist sect would walk around naked and broom the path in front of themselves to live modestly and avoid harming any living things. These XR jokers won’t even give up their electronics or any other fossil fuel provided conveniences

  4. After this election Alberta and Sask. best prepare for the Green Equalization Plan for Alberta and Sask. The Green Communism of the Lib/CPC/NDP/Green Party etc will destroy Alberta and Sask. Families. So Prepare, it is coming. It will happen because who ever is elected Monday will do as Quebec demands. And the BQ will be in the cat bird seat. Albertans need to force Kenney to hold a binding referendum on a UDI and prepare to get off the Slave Ship. This is not being talked about in the MSM in Canada. But this is what will happen.

    1. Whoever wins this election is pretty much a moot point. Quebec, Toronto, and Vancouver control this country. 10 wolves and a sheep voting what’s for dinner. Alberta is about to go through some VERY tough times.

If you care at all about the future of Alberta/Saskatchewan and the future of your kids and grandkids, we had better start making plans to get off this ship of fools that is canada.

      1. Add poorboy Manitoba to that mix. They have more resources than Africa and lets everything sit, rot or go to waste.

  5. Seeing all the costumes of these “protestors”, such as the people in whiteface and red rags (bandages?) or the dude (assuming its gender) being carried off by the police, it makes me think 2 things. First, these people must have a lot of time, money and coordinated organization to assemble these costumes. Second, it seems more to me like “performance art” rather than actual protest.

    1. I imagine they were all positively orgasmic as they carefully painted each other’s faces in anticipation of the public fuk-fest. Some real greasy-paint foreplay for these simpletons.

They’ve consciously made themselves look like Cardinals and Nuns of some dystopian Church State. Their garments are meant to intimidate, and project “righteous” power and “authority” … as well as mock the REAL church. And their sacrament is the “disruptive protest”. Oh yes, this IS a new religion… adopted from the same primitive Aztec Religion depicted in the film Apocalypto. These compulsive commanders of “sacrifice” want YOUR head to roll down the steps of their temples of doom.

That’s what I see. Bemused … but ultimately seeing the extinction danger these lunatics present to our contemporary society. They are ushering in OUR extinction … by their own hands … while blamed on your sins against their mountain gods

    2. “Second, it seems more to me like ‘performance art’ rather than actual protest.”

      Yes. AKA “posturing”.

They all think it’s Paris 1968. Or wish it was.

  6. I’ll be feeling much better if Climate Barbie loses her seat this election, she really is one of the incompetents. Spouting off and scolding us with a haughty attitude on a subject she really has no grasp on beyond rhetorical clap trap.

If the gods are with us old Ralphie Goodale is another who should be put on pension, he’s stayed too long at the fair.

    1. Climate Bi*ch is Ottawa Center. Currently holding a few points lead over the NDP and many points over the CPC. PPC non-existent in Ottawa ridings, bunch of imports with no umph.

Ottawa Center bounces between Lib and NDP regularly, prior was NDP. Poll aggregators show Lib but are ignoring how close the NDP are. Hopefully a rude awakening happens.

She posted some new signs this week that don’t carry the Lib colours, grey with white lettering. Climate, gun control, etc. Even she is distancing from Trudeau.

    2. The only thing better would be for her to keep her seat, but in the opposition, without any ministerial privileges or authority.

It’ll drive the busy-bodying joyless meddler nuts.

      1. “The only thing better would be for her to keep her seat”

You do know that MPs have to win 2 terms to get that Gold Plated MP Pension, right? McKenna only has one term under her belt.
Nobody should forget that until 2015, the LPC was the 3rd place party in Parliament. NDP was Official Opposition.
This is a chance to see a plethora of them being single term MPs with no pension.
So you’d like her to get that pension and tax free lifestyle again for one more term, eh?

        1. I can do nothing about her winning or losing.

And neither can you unless you are a voter in her riding.

        1. Good decision, would have done the same thing. Whoever has the higher chance of unseating Libranos should get the vote.

          1. OK, that has been the dumbest bleat throughout the freaking election cycle. I thought some of you had at least a modicum of intelligence. Vote for freaking communists because you don’t like the liberals brand of socialism, yep, sure freaking thing. Not in a million damn years. IDIOTS.

          2. Voting against the most dangerous enemy. There is no point to vote for a third place. Fell free to do so if you like to help Libranos. I much rather have the left as fragmented and at each others throats as possible. If a Conservative was polling third in my riding I would vote for who ever had the best chance unseating Libranos, if that is NDP or Green then so be it. That is the same reason why Libranos want useful idiots to vote for Maxipad.

          3. “Whoever has the higher chance of unseating Libranos should get the vote.”

Yes. Even if the Communists or the Rhinoceros party are the ones, to DENY even a single seat to the criminal Liberals, whatever it takes to Lower the Liberal seat count.
The Westminster Parliament Rules by which the Canadian Parliament runs permit the Liberals to cobble together a ruling coalition if they have a minority because they are the Incumbent Party. However if their seat count is too low… no they don’t.
It will be up to the Governor General or even the Queen herself.

    3. More than I wish him unelected, I wish he doesn’t live to collect his pension. If that means he goes back to Ottawa for another four or five years long chance to get cancer, so be it. But if he has a fatal heart attack or stroke this week it would be like Christmas come early.

  7. broken brain syndrome.
one *cannot* engage in anything, even a veneer of rational debate with them.
it will all have to play out at whatever pace and degree it will. it’s just too big. like a 1,000 foot tsunami from some record size underwater landslide. can that be stopped?
do what you can in the interests of self preservation ’cause it’s literally and figuratively biblical.

  8. Our chance came when nuclear power was attacked, largely successfully. We waffled and went along with the attack, largely. And learning some physics is HA-A-ARD. Maybe some of us were a wee bit afraid.

That gave them the taste for blood. Our blood.

It would have been much better to have fought from the start.

  9. Someday people will realize that designating CO2 as a pollutant was a stroke of genius, especially when one considers humans exhale a Kilogram of it each day.
And what better excuse does one need to rid the world of its “useless eaters” all in the name of Gaia.
And let’s be honest, isn’t that Extinction’s endgame?
And Scheer isn’t doing a lick to make me feel better about what’s coming down the pike either.

  10. Hey, you’re the one who believed Andrew Scheer when he said he was going to personally help you and your family “get ahead”.

He got your vote. You won’t see or hear from him again till your next scheduled fleecing.

There is no cure, for stupid.

  11. Our own extinction rebellion will take power after Scheer tries to form a government next week if they can prevail with the GG. The eco-fascist left will stop at nothing in pursuing the anti-industrial revolution / war on prosperity, premised on their adopted green theocracy and cultural dominance. Given enough political power, we can logically expect the potential for another Holocaust. Provincial defiance could trigger civil war. Green zealotry knows no bounds.

  12. How hard is it to eliminate the AGW zealot’s…They all have IQ ‘s in the low 70’s…..point them at any shiny object and they will give chase…..

The Quebec French Debate was very different than the English debate.. The French asked pointed hard questions..Dizzy May was asked if she could guarantee results….NO! she could/would Not…

A fake problem must have fake results! A consensus (97%) of scientists say so

    1. I lived in the UK and used to commute into London every weekday. Indeed, I was even on the Tube on 7 July 2005. Millions of Londoners rely on the system to get them to their jobs (you know, the boring stuff ordinary people do that actually keeps civilized society running for feckless university students and precocious 16 year-old Swedish schoolgirls).

The crowd at the platform, desperate to get home on the outskirts of London after another day of work, is not known for putting up with unnecessary delays from petulant protestors. Never test the patience of a couple of burly Bob The Builders after they’ve had a long day at the construction site and you’re the reason they can’t get home or to the pub.

  13. Soon be time to just keep your head done, smile meekly and nod like a f**king sheeple when required while you double efforts to prepare for the cold dark days ahead.
Might be time for some networking with like-minded locals.

  14. from the link:
    “government inaction will cost lives”
ya, well gubbamint ACTION costs FAR MORE lives ashwipe.
read a history book ‘political causes of all major wars in the last 1,000 years’.
that is if you bothered to learn to read in a lifetime of street theatre.

  15. These folks are Khmer Rouge.
See how the city folk / professionals like being sent out into the wilds to subsistence farm.

Green Party seems on this track too. Elizabeth Pot?

  16. Every so often I will check out ctv news to recalculate the bullshit meter and there low and behold was lisa la phlegm asking poor Andy some pointed questions . In the span of 2 minutes , which is about my maximum tolerance level for said network she harped on about he and Ambrose not agreeing on the merits of the US , Can , Mex free trade arrangement . Of course then she went for the jugular and wanted to know why he did not march in either the pride parade or the climate protest . At that point I shut er down and returned to bed . Canada is so screwed ………………………………………

    1. I’m sure they were ‘shocked and appalled’ by such ‘ignorant’ resistance. More fun to come at every future stunt.

      1. If you know they are going to make an appearance in your area, take advantage of that long put off opportunity to empty your fridge of those stale veggies and go to the protest and “feed’ the more than likely hungry vegans with your tomatoes and carrots. Recycling .

  17. There is a show known as the TWD (The Walking Dead). In the latest seasonal offering they introduce a new enemy who skins the zombies and wears the zombie skin like clothing to survive, while undermining, attacking, and sabotaging the efforts of anyone else trying to survive like human beings.

It’s like the Babylon Bee, no longer a parody but a paper of record, now, TWD is a news video of record rather than fiction.

  18. All those who believe in Extinction can hold hands and jump off the edge of this flat world. The rest of us will manage quite well with the reduced numbers of vocal idiots, street theatre stunt performers and Henny Pennys.

  19. I suppose a separate issue for debate is whether or not it would be wise in the longer term to try to cool the climate by any means when there is more chance of a natural cooling than a natural warming of our climate going forward. We caught a bit of a break in terms of the glacial-interglacial cycles because some of the orbital variables identified by Milankovitch go rather slack for thousands of years now and so the general consensus is that the next glacial period would not start for as long as 50,000 years. But the trend is generally slightly down from those slowly changing variables before a more protracted cooling sets in. What if this were not going to be the case, and the glacial cycles have some other factors in play that we have not yet identified? Then to use the fanatics’ rhetoric, our grandchildren are going to be angry that we cooled the climate as they stare into the face of impending glacial disaster.

Another paradigm for reasoned discussion is this — why would gradual melting in the arctic be all that bad a thing? There are benefits.

Having said that, I still don’t really accept that human activity is the main cause of any recent warming trends, which are really just extensions of warming trends that began in the late 19th century. My own analysis of the data shows that the warming has just about stopped in recent years and was stronger between 1995 and 2007 than it has been since then. Maybe the climate reaches equilibrium at some point when it just cannot sustain further warming without increasing snowfall in the polar regions, a trend which would likely short-circuit the process since even now, heavy snow cover in the subarctic would remain on the ground well into what passes for summer up there. Even as recently as 2018, Resolute Bay in the central arctic had its coldest summer in many years and snow only partially melted before the next season began to increase it again. In the Canadian arctic, there was warm interval from 2007-12 but since then less anomalous warmth.

I think these climate zealots have overestimated the problem by a factor of 10:1 which may mean that their draconian solutions are far worse than the impacts would be if we ignored the problem, and therefore they amount to eco-terrorists. I am sure many in Alberta would agree, not wishing to sacrifice their jobs to the misplaced concerns of out-of-touch coastal radicals.

    1. The zealots are cynically saying that the permafrost is melting.

Well, shock to everyone, the Arctic actually has summers, as a normal occurrence. Normal means, above freezing temps. Above freezing temps means……..there is normal thaw and melting of permafrost in the summer.

Of course, none of this is pointed out by the zealots, it’s ALL new and terrible!

We need a good famine, and a 2 month sub-zero cold spell on the coast of BC to wake up the zealots and Greentards. No doubt they would still blame Glowbull Warming.

      1. The zealots will point at any natural phenomena as proof of a crisis. I simply tell them I saw better proof, “l saw dogs peeing on trees.”

      2. Bring back the trees and beavers to Ellesmere Island. They lived there 2 million years ago when the high Arctic was obviously much warmer.

And the planet with all it’s life survived just fine

  20. At the considerable risk of triggering Jenni, I’ll repeat my comment from the previous thread:

It’s quite simple. Victory goes to the side that has the balls to take action. And to date, that has been the left.

  21. Might as well engage them in legal battles, the last place to run out of food, water and electricity will be the courthouse.

If you time your case just right, you may be able to get a dramatic boost from the end of the light.
