People told me that when the volume broke on their expensive-to-fix television sets and when they wanted to watch something on CBC they would turn the radio dial to the CBC and voilà, problem solved, Foster Hewitt plus TV viewing, at least for the good old hockey game, anyway. It was the best of both worlds, provided the rabbit ears didn’t break!

            Thanks for the Stompin’ Tom Connor videos. Didn’t always like his music but he has a way of growing on you. I once read a biography of Tom Connors. He led an exciting life. Wrote his own songs and lived a tough life. The book exposed the misery of the Recording World. They said that Tom was no good. But, Tom persisted. He had an audience and sold his music at the clubs where he literally sang for his supper. Read his life story and you will cry.

But you could also spin it that Republicans are better at perceiving fake news than Democrats, yet the built-in assumption is that Democrats are less likely to believe news is fake (and that’s a good thing right?).

    There is an article on CNN losing 55% of the 25-54 yr olds from a year ago. They have gone from millions of viewers to hundreds of thousands. And they believe the reason is that 60% of Democrats and 70% of Republicans stop watching when they perceive fake news. Combined that is 65% of your viewing audience and you can’t figure out why people are tuning out?

    A Toronto-area organization that was suspended by charities regulators and fined $550,000 over concerns it may have funded armed militants in Pakistan has been awarded a federal summer jobs grant.

    Although the Islamic Society of North America-Canada is serving a one-year suspension imposed by the Canada Revenue Agency, it was approved for 2019 Canada Summer Jobs funding.

  40. WTF, I was just going to post that article on summer jobs for ISNA (known
    financer of radical mosques in North America). Wanted to call attention to the REAL journalist, Stewart Bell who authored it. He wrote the book “Cold Terror” on Canada’s radical muzz groups years ago. He actually went to Pakistan to gather information placing himself in danger. I’m sure many sda readers know about him. He is an unheralded Canadian treasure. Especially under a government that took 4 cops to remove a Sun reporter from a meeting.
