  1. Andrew Scheer must stop betraying social conservatives and his Catholic faith

During the speech, Scheer used the LGBT-speak of “sexual orientation” to threaten that certain people are not welcome in the Conservative Party of Canada (CPC):

I find the notion that one’s race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation would make anyone in any way superior or inferior to anyone else absolutely repugnant. And if there’s anyone who disagrees with that, there’s the door. You are not welcome here. (emphasis added)

    1. Reply to Angel:

I know a lot of Conservatives are upset at Andrew Scheer, especially after he sacked Michael Cooper during the recent free speech hearings. I believe that Mr. Cooper over-reacted to a situation that would have been forgotten overnight had he kept silent.

This poll shows that Andrew Scheer is being perceived by former Liberals in Atlantic Canada as an effective alternative to the poster boy Trudeau. Given the gains Scheer has made recently, Trudeau will be defeated in October.

      https://ipolitics.ca/2019/06/05/liberals-losing-ground-in-atlantic-canada-poll

      1. So Mr. Cooper was to keep silent during a freedom of speech discussion in which a person was stating blatant falsehoods and tarring millions of people with the same brush? Ironic because that person is a Moslem and that’s what many Moslems claim to be Islamophobia’s basis. Mr. Cooper apologized for saying the hypocrite should be ashamed and that’s debatable but the Corrupt Liberals and the Neo-Marxists look to crush conservatives at every turn, for every syllable uttered for any casual interaction.
They are on the attack against freedom of speech and thought and individualism. They are attacking anyone who doesn’t agree with their group-think and they narrow those parameters daily. Mr. Cooper is nothing compared to what’s to come.

        1. Well said, as is your prophecy. The silencing of conservatism is only the beginning.

          1. Conservatism isn’t the only game in town and cannot stand electorally on its own. It must fuse with libertarianism.
That is a darn sight better than the present Grit fusion with collectivism. Centre left or centre right; take your pick.
It seems the centre right can’t stand prosperity. Let Bernier do his damage in QC and Atlantic Canada.
Let the Greens eat the Grits’ lunch elsewhere. Don’t let perfection become the enemy of the good.
Part of being a viable, vibrant and successful party is having disagreements and debates, and not doctrinaire.

          2. Shamrock, you are right. I should have said libertarian/conservatism as compared to the societal destructiveness of class warfare collectivism.

Unfortunately the “Part of being a viable, vibrant and successful party is having disagreements and debates, and not doctrinaire” quite often leads to a dispersed uncoordinated effort and ultimate defeat against a single minded opponent. Witness a diverse minded White Army/government effort against the united Bolshevik collectivists. The White effort was diluted and weakened by diverse thinking, while the Bolsheviks executed any diverse thinking outside of the leadership accepted norm.

      2. BS. Cooper did not over react whatsover.
In that instance he certainly spoke for me and anyone with one iota of brain power.
Saying what needed to be said.

I have Zero use for this pandering so called “Conservative.” I’m not Catholic nor religiously oriented in any way, shape or form. Agnostic would likely be the best description. But kissing Gender Bent – LGBTTQ2sFU/BS – Dairy – Paris – Islamic (_i_) simply does not endear himself to me whatsoever.

I’m w/MAX. And dont give a flying fk if it does split the Vote. Should that vacuous MT finger bowl retain his majority..? It will hasten the West out of this JOKE of a CON federation and that would be just fine by me.
        Long friggin overdue IMO.

        1. The idea of AB and BC separating is still a pipe dream, but not surprising given marijuana is now legal.

        2. again, the choice betwixt scheep and max, is that of short vs long term.
with the scheep’s current musings, suffice to say *I* am now looking more to long term.

        3. My kinda guy!
Hope Jason is reading here, ’cause he’s got some planning to do. I’m quite prepared to snip those tracks, east and west and build to Alaska. It’s shorter to Asian markets by a long shot.

    2. Scheer: “And if there’s anyone who disagrees with that, there’s the door. You are not welcome here.”

Sounds like Justin Trudeau berating the older woman from rural Quebec; he was trying hard to sidestep her question and used the same tactic.

      1. So you don’t have to rely on the glick below, the full quote, which is reasonable regarding self-righteousness?

“I find the notion that one’s race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation would make anyone in any way superior or inferior to anyone else absolutely repugnant. And if there’s anyone who disagrees with that, there’s the door. You are not welcome here.”

What, so you think you’re better than me? But this not a Seinfeld episode. Once again, conservatives eating their own.

        1. Scheer has gone and is currently going everything possible to alienate the base.

      2. I don’t think I can vote for Conservatives next time because of Scheer. He is a moral relativist and seems unable to stand up for important principles — like truth. It is not Max who is dividing the party. It is Scheer.

    3. “I find the notion that one’s race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation would make anyone in any way superior or inferior to anyone else absolutely repugnant”

      Like Israel and the Palestinians.
Or Rich Jews who manipulate events for their own gain.

Leaked Pompeo Recording Reveals Failed US Attempt To Co-Opt Venezuela Religious Institutions

“Pompeo also told the Jewish leaders ‘off the record’ how difficult it would be to manage Venezuela even if Maduro is ousted. ”

      Huh, Jewish leaders being briefed?
      I smell Gefilte fish.

    4. “And if there’s anyone who disagrees with that, there’s the door. You are not welcome here. “

Who does he think he is?
Why do SO MANY politicians of today get that so bass ackwards?
It is NOT you who shows us the door, it’s US who shows YOU the door and DON”T YOU BLOODY FORGET IT!

  2. Reply to WTF:

No doubt that David Menzies is right. However, of what use will free speech have been if it leads to the defeat of the Conservatives this fall?? The left are using the free speech issue to have Cdn. voters perceive conservatives as violent offenders.

Free speech is also what often gets a lot of people fired from their jobs, thrown out of bars or end up handcuffed in the back of a police cruiser?? Is it really worth it?? Lets (Conservatives) win the election and change the legislation when we have the power to do so.

    1. What use is a conservative government having power if they are going to act like Liberals?

Also, Cooper did not overreact, he stated the facts and corrected a deliberate lie. He was sanctioned for stating hate facts that go against the official narrative.

I would really like to save Canada, as I know it is finished with another Trudeau government, but I fear The Dairy Queen will simply be like taking antibiotics until you feel better and stopping before you are cured. If the country is too end, perhaps it is better to just get on with it before the damage inflicted by the Laurentian Imperialists is too great to recover from.

      1. IMO your comment has merit. The range of ideas tolerated in public discourse (Overton Window) in Canada has shifted to the radical left from the centre left. I hold the Conservative leadership responsible. The current leadership has failed to defend traditional conservative principles and values. IMO this pusillanimous leadership is to the detriment of the country. Even if the Conservative Party is able to win a majority in the October Election it is no guarantee that public policy will change in a substantive way. If what is posited above proves to be true then IMO Canada will break up. The country will not be able to continue under the leadership of people who cannot unite its different regions to work collectively for the economic benefit every province. If Canada is to end then lets get on with it.

        1. JIM:

And there you have it…NAILED. “…under the leadership of people who cannot unite its different regions to work collectively for the economic benefit every province…”

And that my friend will never ever happen. Canada, is since Pierrres Day, Quebec Centric & Centered. All things revolve around that Province and its incessant demands. Run by the Cabal of Power Corp, Bronfmann & Desmarais Families and assorted Laurentien Elites, Canada is nothing more than a Feudal grouping of Tax Rich havens reaped anually (raped.?), for the pleasure of that Eastern gang.

Scheer has often signaled his willingness to go with the Liberal flow on every major issue facing the country. Nothing more than a willing stooge who will bend the knee to said Cabal. Justin Lite with a goofy grin.

          MAX is the only alternative.

        2. Without a change to the constitution that fundamentally re-works the Senate, “Canada” is doomed to becoming a rump state, through secession.

Senators must be directly elected, not appointed, and every province ( not region ) must have exactly the same number of senators. If these changes were made, the Ontario/Quebec delegation in the Commons would cease to have a stranglehold on the government and the needs of the other provinces would be addressed in a workable manner.

          1. And that will never happen as the vested interests in Quebec and Ontario, or little PEI, will never agree to making changes. Canada has no second chamber to keep Parliament in check and one man can run rough shod over the regions as we have seen.

          2. I disagree Ken. I have not seen a pro forma on the effect of the federal budget but if Alberta and Saskatchewan left I think the entire liberal racket would crumble overnight, as it could not be financed with 2 net donors gone. Plus if it happened what any Canadian government debt be negotiable in the financial markets? But first you have to have the premieres in various unhappy provinces start talking about this in a very serious way. By the way I think many some of the recipient provinces of liberal largess have very large simmering beefs with confederation as well. A friend from Nova Scotia is livid with how his family’s businesses have been comprehensively screwed by the Trudles government. This small province discontent has not been reported because after all who would report it? The CBC? I think it is a mistake to consider Atlantic Canada as part of the unbreakable liberal phalanx. They aren’t they’ve simply been bought at a very cheap price.
One last thing, when have you ever seen an MP pass up a huge increase in their power? All MPs from the small population provinces would receive huge new clout if their province would have the same vote in the senate as Ontario or Quebec. Who would be powerless, then? Ontario and Quebec would lose their ability to ram legislation through that primarily benefited them, as it would be stopped dead in the Senate if it didn’t benefit the majority of provinces.

        3. There has not been a conservative defending anything in Canada for decades. Max may prove to be conservative but until his party gains a majority all is speculation based on words.

        4. It’s been like that for quite a while, so yeah let’s just get on with it.

      2. Exactly. After this Cooper incident I do not trust Scheer any further than I, an old man, could throw him. The whipping of his MPs in the Paris Accord fraud was the beginning of my disillusionment with Scheer, and I supported him to begin with.

        1. You guys are the best hope of Trudeau winning re-election; that will be the result despite your self-satisfied “principles.”

          1. So we should bury our principles decade after decade. Might as well just vote Liberal then.

          2. GOOD!! The same BS was spouted when Harper ran the CPC. Liberal Lite. Stick it where the sun don’t shine! This country has been done since 1968, you just refuse to see it.

    2. Been there. done that but thank-you for your comment and providing this opportunity to crap on the CPC. I welcome further comment by the CPC faithful. I donated to the Harper campaign hoping for change after Chretien and Martin and attended the local hug-in in where Baird was guest speaker.

Then the windturbines got built in SW Ontario first with Fed production incentives and then accelerated FED tax credits. The windfarms were subject to FED EA legislation but low and behold the Harper Feds fell inline with the Provincial Liberals and OKed the windfarms despite the windfarms being health hazards. It was good business for Bay Street Bankers & Lawyers and the Oil patch Cos.

The more I looked into the scam the more it became obvious that the CONSERVATIVES were in on setting up the scam going back to Mulroney. I have concluded that the elites who run this plantation are globalists and the LIB-CON party is the means to implement the globalist agenda. Paid & owned MSM.Ca controls the narrative while dissenters are marginalized & censored and the CPC plays along.
Insanity is thinking things will be different this time. Harper got his majority. How did that turn out? The ringing in my ears (tinnitus) is a constant reminder of what supporting the CPC did for me.

Seems other share similar experience being thrown under the CON bus. Over at amazing Polly the score is 4k to 21.
She gets that globalist thingy? Do you???

    1. After watching that video all I can say is Fire up the BBQ and toss(out) the salad honey.
Best comment on the video though “Previously on AMC’s the Walking Dead”

    1. I have no evidence but I would wager that Harper had is thumb on the scale to get Scheer elected as CPC leader instead of Max. I wager a lot of arm twisting and jawboning, and back room dealing to get the Scheep in place. No use for Harper he was a timid little man. Even with a huge majority he had no balls and no backbone. Never trust a damn cat owner.

  3. I watched some of the CBC News coverage of a live D-day commemorative event yesterday, at 8-9 am Eastern, and for the whole hour that entailed a CBC camera following Prime Minister Justin Trudeau around the Normandy beach, with Heather Hiscox in Toronto doing background commentary. And CBC News led off the National with Andrienne Arsenault doing a 10 minute interview with the Right Honerable One, lobbing softball questions the whole time, the interview consisting of well-meaning babbling about our war veterans, their sacrifices and how well our federal government is treating our veterans.

I spent some of yesterday reflecting on D-day, naturally. But the CBC’s coverage, essentially that of Justin Trudeau in Normandy, could be a harbinger of what’s to come during this fall election.

Ok, I’ll say it: look for an elected Libersl-Green-NDP coalition government this fall.

    1. “Ok, I’ll say it: look for an elected Libersl-Green-NDP coalition government this fall.”

I agree. I hold no hope for the flaccid and castrated Scheer.

  4. Socialist Calgary looks to government to offset 10% tax increases.

    https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/calgary-office-vacancies-taxes-1.5161450

“Mayor Naheed Nenshi said if council approves the initiative, which will use $70.9 million for rebates to business properties, it will result in a virtual tax freeze this year for business property owners.”

Don’t do the right thing and cut spending. No that would be a horrible idea. Instead, take tax payer’s money and give it back to them – this year … maybe … some of it anyway.

  5. Why does the city of Calgary “still has to collect about the same amount of money”? Why is this baked into our heads?

    https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/calgary-property-tax-business-1.4974978

“The so-called business property tax shift was essentially triggered by falling oil prices, which led to layoffs, a drop in demand for office space and a steep plunge in the value of office towers.”

“Big drops in assessments mean lower tax bills. The city, though, still has to collect about the same amount of money, so that means someone else has to pick up the difference.”

“It means increases in tax bills for business properties outside of the downtown core.”

The Calgary government of Nenshi wants to subsidize (cover) $70 million of business tax this year. Problem is, high vacancy rates in Calgary are expected to be the norm for the next five years “at least”. Five times seventy is $350 million in tax subsidy to (essentially) the oil industry.

Question Calgarians: Who will pay for the $350 million subsidy that Nenshi is proposing?

Hint: Nenshi does not want to increase taxes on home owners.

    1. Steve….let me correct this for you
“..Nenshi does not want to increase taxes on home owners…”

The Hell he doesnt..!! I now live in an 900′ 2 bdrm condo and my Property tax bill went up some 30 % this year: $128 to 158/Month… He has also Totally slammed the remaining tax base in downtown with increases up to 400%. This is how you end up with a Detroit Scenario.

This Council of LEFTIST Legacy seeking progressive bastards is (IMO), bought n paid for by the Public Service Unions – ZERO BALLS to make the CUTS that are needed. Like a 15-20% CUT in the Trough Feeders pay and benefits.

Business is leaving for greener pastures and no one can blame them. All it takes is a move to the East side of 84th St E, and now your in a different rural jurisdiction with huge tax savings. I’d do the same if I could.

      1. Did you read the comments in that article? Absolutely disgusting!! How can anyone in the west justify staying in this serfdom? Canadians are a disgusting, envious lot. I call them the four letter C word, U for a vowel, NTS.

      2. I was paraphrasing Nenshi. He doesn’t want to increase taxes for home owners, but he is happy to shift the commercial tax shortfall … to residential taxes … indirectly by subsidizing the commercial tax payers in the short term. Then he’ll retire with a fat pension and leave a big mess behind. Five years of $70 million commercial tax subsidies in the downtown core with an vacancy rate of 25% and a $300 million annual shortfall in revenue. He could trim his budget by $50 million and subsidize commercial taxes by $20 million, thereby leaving behind a little mess. But he won’t do that. Calgary has an annual budget of $4.09 billion. Cutting spending by $50 million would take 10-15 minutes.

All it would take (as you rightly point out) is for a few oil companies to define a new “downtown” by moving their offices beyond Nenshi’s reach. This would force Calgary’s hand to reduce commercial taxes and to stop massively leaching off the fossil fuel industry while trying to kill it at the same time. Calgary is run by socialist morons. Edmonton is full blown communist.

        1. Nenshi is the logical extension of librano mares that Calgary has elected for decades. The last quasi conservative mayor they had was Rod Sykes. Everyone since has been a liberal including Klein.

As pointed out here many times, Alberta is as liberal as the rest of Canada.

The tax policy has been in place for years. They are now running out of other peoples money. Looks good on them.

        2. I wouldn’t call it a “subsidy”. A vacant building isn’t worth much, and property taxes are supposed to be based on what a building is worth. Just because they got x amount of tax revenue from a property during the boom, doesn’t mean they can expect that much now. The leftists destroyed the oil industry, deliberately. As a result Calgary is now a poor city. The city government, and residents are going to have to live with what they keep voting for.

      3. The people keep voting for the dumb f–ks. I wonder just who is the dumbest a hole in Canada. Don’t say Trudeau, because there are dumber people who voted for him.

  6. After the senate committee travelled the country to gauge the merits or consequences of Bill 48 ( no tankers bill) and came to the conclusion it should be scrapped. The senators voted 35/58 to keep it alive. So really what was the point? Now does it really make a difference if TMX gets approved? We won’t be able to load a tanker and ship it abroad. 3 Western Senators voted for it.
    Stoking the fires of UDI?

    1. You mean the no tankers bill in the Pacific Ocean because they don’t seem to mind tankers pulling up to the Irving refinery in Atlantic Canada.

      1. Actually guys its the “No Tankers that carry ALBERTA OIL” Bill.

No mention of course of the 550,000 bbls of Alaskan Oil that sails BC’s Left Coast DAILY… right into Juan de Fuca Straight…’cause apparently that Oil is “harmless”.

        UDI..?? the sooner the better.
Turdeau hanging from on Ottawa Lampost…also, the sooner the better.

    2. Batten down the hatch. The Senate road show was just that – a road show for the proles. The libranos knew all along they had it in the bag. The vote was secure and they knew it.

The election will be much the same. Victory will be secured with vote buying and we will have 4 more years of grousing on SDA.

2024 might be a time for change but conditions right now dont suggest anything is going to happen.

  7. A day can’t go by without Groper trashing a world leader. Today while meeting with his bum buddy Macron, Groper was asked a question about Trump, and he went on a rant about the evils of populism. Meanwhile Trudeau’s CBC is ranting that Trudeau is wonderful because of the booming economy.

  8. If the current philosophy of the federal government is going to lead to the breakup of this country then I would prefer history record that it happened under a liberal minority supported by the NDP and the GPC.
That being said, once the breakup happens how long will it take for the US to declare the territory of the failed state as a protectorate?
The irony is that the current philosophy permeating the corridor tends toward anti-US sentiment and likes to give the pretense of sovereignty while enjoying the benefits of being in such close proximity to the superpower they loath. The benefits such as being able to neglect our military and use the US as a backstop allowing the government to fund all manner of social engineering patronage programs.

I would advocate that there be a shrine built on Parliament Hill devoted to the goddess Karma but my personal preference to the original ten laws forbid me from doing so.
So I will repeat the addage.

    Enjoy the decline

  11. with respect to the Carbon tax, initiated by the Liebral gov’t.
