It would seem to me that AntiFa is only partly responsible. They require their enablers within the government to do the dirty work as shown in Mr. Buckby’s case (or within the lefty arts community as with his fiancé).
I can answer how a Leftist would react – my entire clan (except me) is somewhat left of Karl Marx*. They’d either
1) flatly refuse to believe it
2) indulge in a “wuttaboutery” orgy of biblical proportions, or
3) flatly refuse to watch it in the first place. Fake news, y’know…

I am surrounded by more than a few leftards in my neighborhood and I handle most of them with the same tact. I don’t challenge their ideology straight on, rather I challenge their ignorance in relying on the MSM to be informed and ridicule them for being totally unaware of some of the big stories we see on Breitbart, Fox, SDA, etc.. For example, ask them if they think an angry mob attacking a nationally known journalist’s home is news. After the majority answer YES, OF COURSE, then embarrass the oblivious ones for not knowing the Tucker Carlson event of the other night. There are countless examples like this out there that you can use. In other words, I give them multiple doses of their own condescending attitudes, but I do it without getting emotional or ranting. The only people I have alienated by this approach are a couple of hardcore anti-Trumpers who are beyond reason or hope. Ha, everyone seems happy we see less of them, anyways.
BTW, my favorite favorite T-shirt to wear to some of these neighborhood ‘events’ proudly proclaims… “I’m not arguing with you, I’m just explaining why I’m right.”

My approach to dealing with my neighbourhood’s leftist denizens is to accept they can’t handle the truth, and avoid interacting with them at all if I have any choice.
I have nothing to gain, for myself or the Dominion, from giving leftists an excuse to have me fired from my job, insult and harass me whenever I dare step outside my own house, and pelting that house with rocks and cat excrement while the city’s finest make a point of looking the other way.
They have a world of free media at their disposal. It will be waiting for them when they come to their senses, if they ever do. If they dismiss it all as fake news, they won’t listen to me.

I think we have Obama to thank for the thuggish behavior of late. While he was reduced to little to no legislative action after his first mid term in 2010 (kinda like where Trump is now), he poisoned the bureaucracies deep enough to take years to repair if at all possible. It’s likely that he also acted as his old self as community organizer to catalyze such organizations.
