In Imprimis: Does Diversity Really Unite Us?
Our progressive politicians and opinion leaders proclaim their commitment to diversity almost daily, chanting the same refrain: “Diversity is our strength.” This is the gospel according to political correctness. But how does diversity strengthen us? Is it a force for unity and cohesiveness? Or is it a source of division and contention? Does it promote the common good and the friendship that rests at the heart of citizenship? Or does it promote racial and ethnic division and something resembling the tribalism that prevents most of the world from making constitutional government a success? When is the last time we heard anyone in Washington talk about the common good? We are used to hearing talk about the various stakeholders and group interests, but not much about what the nation has in common.
This should not be surprising. Greater diversity means inevitably that we have less in common, and the more we encourage diversity the less we honor the common good. Any honest and clear-sighted observer should be able to see that diversity is a solvent that dissolves the unity and cohesiveness of a nation—and we should not be deceived into believing that its proponents do not understand the full impact of their advocacy!

No. Diversity does not make us stronger, but the cliche is indicative of the level of political discourse these days, with the media fully accepting any cliches the Liberals put forward. You can be very accepting of the positives regarding immigration without having to relinquish the right to comment on the negatives. Immigration works well when people accept a set of core values — which, of course, we do not have in Canada, at least according to our PM.

“Diversity is our strength” is Justin Trudeau’s mantra and anyone who disagrees is a racist, that will be his rallying cry for 2019 to suck up the votes, many of them streaming in illegally/irregularly daily.

This thing they so bravely proclaim, they being socialists, Canadian liberals, Canadian “conservatives” and the media cartel, is going to lead to the eventual decline of western civilization.
You can see, if you pay attention that the situation is well underway.
Once the diversity becomes intolerable for simple reason that the mythology of it is constantly moving the goal posts, as it were, the so called “human rights” courts will be the main business of political system.
The lawyers and hangers on never made the money that they will make once the diktat is instituted.
You may notice that when the politicians open their mouths all that comes out is hot air of nothingness as opposed to make way for free enterprise to create prosperity for all.
When the assorted little dictators assume the critical mass, of course they will be the first to go into oblivion, possibly by violent means created by themselves in hope that they can use it on the masses.
The lawyers and “human rights” courts will take care of the rest of the resistance.
The price is going to be unimaginable. Nobody will know about it due to the media cartel working with the politicians and rest of the ruling class will talk about the glorious socialist, diversified country.

Their absolute refusal to even entertain ‘diverse’ opinions is now legendary.
Their form of diversity is apparently not diverse enough to even include Conservatives.

Unity is a rowing scull where everyone takes their cue from the cox, pulling together and in the same direction. The boat practically flies out of the water, and reaches its goal directly. Everyone is happy and proud that they worked together.
Diversity is the same scull, but no one listens to the cox, each has his own opinion about which direction they should go, everyone pulls his own oar whenever he wants, in whichever direction he wants. The boat goes round in endless circles, and gets nowhere. No one is happy, and everyone points fingers at everyone else, blaming them.

Interesting how the most productive societies have been homogenous. There seem to be no highly developed countries that are not. A lot of shithole countries are in perpetual civil war.

I disagree. A sports team like say the Argonauts can have players of a sorts of diversified sources. Various provinces, states, countries, black, white, large and small yet once they wear the common uniform they must play united to have any chance of victory.

Those of us with a NATO medal with a “Former Yugoslavia” bar know where diversity leads. It used to be said that Yugoslavia had three religions, two alphabets and one Tito. When Tito died that wonderful diversity took over and the Croats, Serbs, Bosnians, Macedonians, etc. started shooting. Diversity wasn’t strength any more. We should heed that lesson – Trudeau doesn’t have the strength or charisma of Tito so we’ll skip the stable stage.
‘Diversity’ is a bit of a misnomer. I believe its just a euphemism for ‘Group Rights’; and as every free-minded and acting individual knows, ‘Group Rights’ are an attack on the liberty of the individual and that is the calling card of the neo-Marxists. Groups don’t need protection. Diverse groups cannot help but attack each other and certainly any dissent from an individual within a group merely creates an apostate, which some groups view as a capital offense.
Trudeau is a proponent because he doesn’t believe in the uniqueness of the individual and probably can’t even conceptualize an individual’s free will. His government pushes for all these diverse groups because it will result in more government control and power.

Consequences? Those are for fools and slaves. Ask any poor Boer denied asylum by Canada even though the preparations are already being made for white genocide in South Africa. Their betters agitated for an end to apartheid for decades—and fled the country the minute they got what they claimed they wanted. They did not have any intention of being the ones expropriated and murdered by gangs of black communists.
The nub of the issue is this: diversity isn’t a value,* it’s merely a demographic statistic. From the perspective of any given national polity, the effects of that statistic might be positive in some aspects and negative in others.
However, once politicians make it a public virtue, diversity can no longer remain a statistic, nor can we view it dispassionately in all its aspects, good and bad.
That’s because it cannot now be permitted to fail.
* We’ve always had the bona fide value that covers what diversity pretends to embrace: it’s called “tolerance”.

Our progresssive comrades gain great political strength from the concept of diversity, this carefully ill defined meme allows them to play blocks of voters off against each other.And they are very united in doing this as it allows them to steal while deflecting attention always upon some “other” who is always racist,evil and too blame.
