containers for export to places like West Africa.
Border officers stationed at Canada’s ports seize suspected stolen vehicles when they find
them and then notify police, who are supposed to investigate.
But interviews and internal government emails obtained by Global News reveal that the
system is falling apart at eastern Canada’s busiest port.
The issue is that police have allegedly become reluctant to investigate stolen vehicles found
by Canada Border Services Agency officers at the port of Montreal.
And the CBSA says that if there is no police investigation, it has no reason to hold the cars and
must release them — effectively allowing them to be exported overseas by crimes groups…

Here’s the true story.
Harper is going to meet John Boulton who as Trump’s security advisor must keep a record with White House staff who he meets with and when.
The White House staff contacted the PMO when they found out to confirm if anyone else from the government would be coming, likely to confirm if this was official state business or not. The PMO confirms that the visit is not official as they had no previous knowledge of the trip.
So what did the media do?
They selectively edited the story to sensationalize the story.
Now why would they present this story this particular way?
There is no visit to the WH the truth is that the WH contacted the PMO to inquire if this was official business or not, which it is not.
The “convention” is that if someone in an ex-offico position visits another state government on official business that ex-officio do so with the endorsement of the current government so that when they do visit the host is confident that the ex-officio is a representative of the government of Canada. Not so in this case. The WH wanted to make sure Boulton wasn’t talking to someone from the Canadian government without POTUS being aware such a meeting would be taking place, particularly his security advisor.
The meme of late has been the “stand shoulder to shoulder “, this piece of fake news seeks to present Harper as not a team player. Did Wynne check with the White House to find out if this was an “official visit” or a personal one? I don’t know how typical I am, but I cannot “celebrate” Canada Day in an era when I see the country’s values being undermined and our heritage obscured. I simply feel increasingly detached from the country and all it once stood for. This is not an anti-immigrant sentiment, as in the past there have been many immigrants who have embraced Canada and its values and contributed greatly. That is not happening now, and some of that is deliberately being orchestrated by our current “post national” government. It is very sad.
