Because Marxism must be applied to everything,not just economics. And Marxism dictates equality of OUTCOMES, regardless of input. Just as some lazy occupy type should get the same wages as a hardworking oil patch laborer, some lazy lardbutt who never works out should get the same ogling as someone who regularly exercises and uses self restraint at the supper table. That is the basic difference between a true socialist and a true capitalist. A true capitalist demands equality of opportunity. After that, it is up to the individual to do the best they can. True, some will have somewhat greater aptitude than others, but most healthy individuals can be quite successful if they truly apply themselves. A true socialist demands equality of outcomes, regardless of the individual’s input. Failure is due to “societal issues” rather than the individual, and success is due to “privilege” rather than hard work and diligence. Interesting that those who demand that all things be shared equally are rarely the ones working hard to better themselves on their own. They have to pretend that everybody is equal in all areas of life, lest anyone (the Usual Grievers) feel inferior. And we all know that feelings are soooo important. Usually, simply striving for excellence in even one area of life provides individuals with enough compensatory capital that they no longer crave affirmation in other areas of life. But striving for excellence is something most of these Marxists don’t understand. Wonder Why?
