      1. Oh, so that’s what Prinz Dummkopf meant by a “transparent” government…..

  1. When the CFIA is looking for input on the size of potato cubes in cans so that they can be regulated, you know that nothing is safe or out of bounds!
    Separation from this mess anyone?

    1. Technically, they were looking for comment on the change in size of potato cubes in cans, as they continue to regulate them.

unfortunately, “let the market decide” was not an option on the survey.

  2. They keep pushing, pushing, pushing.

The backlash is going to be gloriously epic.

    1. I was at Loblaws today and several staff were brandishing pride rainbow T-shirts. I felt insulted; I think I’ll write to Lobalwas and give them a piece of my mind.

      1. I was in a nearby grog shop yesterday and there was a Smirnoff display which was adorned in–wait for it!–rainbow colours. Then again, I don’t drink the stuff.

    2. “The backlash is going to be gloriously epic.”

There will be none. And they know it. The Wuhan flu was all the proof they needed. So you can expect more and more of this.

  3. Good questions from the Twitter thread.

Where’s the warning labels on cookies, pop, and junk food packages?

  4. Also heard feds are thinking of putting a freeze on meat grinders and likely will force people to register them. And only allowing one seed potato per family, and the resulting growth must be picked before the spud is no bigger than a ping pong ball.

  5. Don’t worry, the government will continue to eat steaks and caviar with champagne, while they will expect the ignorant masses they lead to eat bug protein instead to prevent “Global Warming™”

    1. You mean fat, creepy, Epstein Island Bill Gates? That weirdo has ZER0 self awareness.

      1. He seems to have some sort of fetish with human waste.

Yes, you can drink water extracted from it, just like he did. That’s been done on the space station for years, though that’s more a matter of practicality and cost reduction. Hauling water to orbit costs fuel and the crews produce bodily waste anyway.

But bringing an actual sample of you-know-what to a presentation? I’d have to question his mental health. On the other hand, he’s been telling us for years to eat it through that abomination known as Windows.

        1. I drank it (in coffee) and washed up in it up in Norman Wells in about ’84. Esso had lots of money and set one up at the drilling rig camp. It was quite the contraption. I just looked in and closed the door. They hired a guy to run it and I survived.

  6. The industry should simply create their own stickers to put on the packages which show the many BENEFITS of the meat. Sort of like the ranchers equivalent of the Biden (and Trudeau) “I did that” stickers on gas pumps.

  7. Nothing left for idiot politicians to do except make our lives miserable.. I for one am tired of government that does noting but level sanctions against me.. I want them sanctioned as painfully and petty as possible.. See how they like it..

  8. There should be a warning on main stream news that it is actually liberal propaganda.

  9. Here’s a thought- Developing brains require dietary fat and lots of it. What if much of the insanity in the world today can be explained by trendy diets of the last 50-60 years that eliminate almost all of it? Would not be surprised if an autopsy on a child who grew up vegan would reveal a smoother than normal brain surface.

  10. L – You are what you eat.
Thus, if you only eat plants.
    You become a vegetable.
    Or perhaps, a fungi.

  11. Yesterday’s article said the warning would be in reference to saturated fats. This article says the warning would be in reference to trans fats. They aren’t the same thing.

    So which article is accurate?

    1. Does it matter when you hear that the Milk Cartel got an exemption, despite having a lot more saturated fats in them?

  12. Seed oils and their hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated progeny are pro inflammatory and damaging to human health. Saturated fats on the other hand are our friends. Normally, Health Canada only accidentally approves something for our health.

      1. Unfortunately, no. Hydrogenation is a process by which food manufacturers extend the shelf life of vegetable and seed oils. Trans fats are one of the by products. Saturated fats are animal fats and a few others such as Coconut oil and avocado oil. Pure olive oil sort of straddles the line and has green phytonutrients and Omega-9 fatty acids.

  13. Ground beef? Grind your own – round, chuck, and brisket make wonderful ground beef, when slightly frozen and in a food processor. I’ll never go back to store-prepared ground beef.

  14. I drank it (in coffee) and washed up in it up in Norman Wells in about ’84. Esso had lots of money and set one up at the drilling rig camp. It was quite the contraption. I just looked in and closed the door. They hired a guy to run it and I survived.

  15. I’m old enough to remember when fries were cooked in liquified tallow; they were really good. Fast forward to the demonization of animal fats and the promotion of vegetable fats (and there are issues as to how that was organized); we’re hearing trans-fats are so much better than animal fats. A mother at our offsprings’ school took exception to that new edict and was known to openly say that trans-fats were worse than animal fats. Turns out that’s true. Also, the recommended nutrition guide – the pyramid – which has a lot of carbs at the bottom and minimum animal proteins at the top turns out to be (per a vet I know) the ideal feedlot diet. Canada Health – or whatever its name is – has a lot to answer for in terms of really messing up Canadian diets.

    1. Dispel your self of any thoughts that anyone in the government has anything to answer for.

    2. “when fries were cooked in liquified tallow”

Back in the 1970s I rendered animal fat at a packing plant. We sold a butt load of 50 pound cubes of beef fat to restaurants. After that they preferred hydrogenated vegetable oil to eff people up more than animal fat.

      1. Julia Child was a big fan of cooking fries in beef tallow. They tasted better *and* were better for you.
