It looks like Jason Kenney and the RCMP are 0-2 as they tried and failed to pull off some kind of sting operation just south of Milk River( just north of the Coutts border crossing).  Story is still developing so take everything I put after this with a grain of salt but I’ll see what kind of details I can piece together.

Earlier today there was a meeting between a number of MLA’s and the blockade. They came to some kind of agreement but Kenny wanted to be the one to announce it and asked for some time to do so. Meanwhile the RCMP made a move on one or more truckers but got caught in the act. They were quickly surrounded and blocked off.

Word spread quickly and like yesterday the Calvary came in from all over. Farmers, truckers, town folks etc. have now blocked off areas north and south of Milk River as well as all of the side roads.

update: A separate convoy is now heading to Edmonton to shut the city down.

          1. Deputy Conservative Leader – interim until leadership race is decided. She may throw her hat in that ring with some others equally qualified.

          2. She may not throw her hat in the ring. The party rules prohibit the interim leader from doing that.

  11. I can’t help thinking the RCMP hearts can’t really be in this. These are people who most of the time strongly support the police. Would they not think something just not right?

    1. Why would they question. Because this is not public health policy anymore, it’s politics, one team against another with law enforcement in the middle. Like I’ve said earlier, the raging narcissist A holes in government cannot bend as they may be perceived as being weak. Violence is the last result of politics and I hope it won’t get to that point, but it will become inevitable if this continues.

      1. Violence works both ways. I’m sure the RCMP realize that a violent response to this legitimate protest would result in a death sentence for many officers for something they have no control over.
        That RCMP constable sitting in a cruiser on the shoulder of the busy highway, multiple big rigs with pissed off drivers, whizzing by, will not be impressed with orders to turn on the citizenry knowing how easy it is to become a highway statistic.
        If they don’t know it, they better learn fast

      That will be their cover for breaking up the protests.
      They play with fire to continue a totally useless vaccine and lockdown policy.

      They have done the math.
      How many lives are they prepared to sacrifice for the ineffective vaccine and lockdown policies?

  13. This Canadian thing has opened the eyes of Americans who see the courage of these Truckers and all who support them. We rejoice at their resolve. It strengthens us here at home. Canadians have a long fuse, but Lord have Mercy…never let that fuse get to the dynamite of the Canadian soul. It’s explosive. It’s miraculous. It’s GLORIOUS.

  15. The spike strips are a good idea. They are non-discriminatory and will work on all traffic. Effectively shut down all traffic to and from Edmonton.
