    I haven’t decided if it’s supposed to be a spoof or, simply, a badly-made flick. One commenter on IMDB likened it to a combination of Austin Powers and Plan 9 from Outer Space. Yeah, it’s that bad.

    At least the first Casino Royale movie adaptation was a deliberate send-up. (By the way, both CR and OKC were released at almost the same time.)

    If you’re a fan of the Connery James Bond movies, you’ll recognize a number of actors who appeared in them. If you don’t like the film, you can entertain yourself by trying to see how many of them you can find.

    1. I have a personal connection to that movie.

      When I was in Grade 10, I was a member of my junior high school’s cinema club. We rented movies and showed them to students, charging admission to cover the expenses.

      One night, I took home the distributor catalogues we had and I looked through them. I discovered some obscure titles (such as Number One, in which Charlton Heston plays a football quarterback), but there was a lot of stuff meant for drive-ins or TV stations for their late-night movies. (You have no idea how much rubbish has been produced!)

      I came across a listing for this film and my reaction was “Huh?” It was shown on the local TV station one night about a year or two later and I considered it eye-rollingly bad. I watched it again last night and it hadn’t improved with age.

      1. Watched a movie about 6 months ago in which the lead was Clint Eastwood’s son. I believe it was intended as a send-up of one of Clint’s spaghetti westerns. Absolutely horrible.

        1. In many cases, acting ability isn’t genetic. I remember starting to watch a movie featuring Tom Hanks’s son. I quickly switched it off. Apparently Tom Cruise’s kid can’t act his way out of a paper bag.

          On the other hand, sometimes it is. Alan Alda’s father was Robert Alda. Brian Keith’s father was Robert Keith. There are Jeff and Beau Bridges, son of Lloyd. John Carradine’s sons (David, Keith, and Robert) had successful careers.

          Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn’t. Jane Fonda had more talent than her brother Peter. I’ve never like any of his movies.

            Also, John Wayne’s son Patrick often had minor roles in a number of the Duke’s movies.

          4. BAD – I saw Peter Fonda in a Thomas the Tank Engine movie years ago. I couldn’t get over how terrible his acting was. If you can’t make it in a children’s movie, how bad are you?     Well today I had a Walter Mitty moment.
    Walking along the sidewalk on S Granville here in Vancouver I passed the front window of a restaurant with many privileged people enjoying a nice lunch which, as a leper, I would not be permitted to enjoy.

    I thought a cool STUNT would be to pop in and ask the celebrants at the closest table if they approved of the BC “vaccine” mandate. If so, to pop out and press my nose up against the window like a desperate supplicant looking longingly at the repast on the table.

    But I’m too timid.

      New Hampshire and now Maine have rejected this project. Leftist Vermont would almost certainly reject it as well. So maybe they’ll route it through New York State. Or possibly an underseas cable from NB to Mass?

    I felt a cold coming on yesterday, so I wore a mask everywhere I went, just in case it wasn’t really a cold, but normally, no mask. Interestingly, even though I had solid symptoms, the cold cleared up in twelve hours. The data says that we get mini colds from coronaviruses all the time, and this keeps up our immunity, like little booster shots, and that if we go more than a year without a mini cold, we will get a full blown cold from that strain of virus next time we catch it. I am no scientist, and this is just my interpretation of the studies I have read on coronaviruses other than COVID, but I would bet money that in five years, this will be the conventional wisdom on COVID.

  19. It’s beyond a laughing matter the way Popinjay Trudeau is cavorting about on this useless trek to Glasgow to shoot the breeze on climate change. He’s acting like he’s on a tour, picking up souvenirs and enjoying all the local cuisine and of course top of the line potent potables.
    If anyone finds out what he contributed or what collectively these “leaders” and their mascot Greta accomplished please let us know. So far I see a lot of fuel spewed to spread bullshit.

    1. Canada likely had one of the largest delegations in Glasgow as they did in 2015 when Climate Barbie led the Canadian delegation to the Paris climate extravaganza. At least in 2015, CTV reported on the massive size of the delegation.

I haven’t been in a restaurant other than my pub, which lost their license for refusing to do vax passports, since I left I left Florida almost two years ago. Mexico is a place I would never go, but if I could skip the crap I would go back to my perch in Florida and stay there. I told my wife we should not have gone back to Canada the very day we left. Nothing would have happened to us as our income is fluid and is connected to at least one US Bank. The things one is willing to do for someone you love. Could that be considered stupid?

        And I will be packing every single day. Up on the mountain I have 2 neighbors in a square mile. 9 miles up an old logging road. With my own creek and all black bottom dirt in a nice box canyon.

  25. Now I have another reason to eventually move out of my apartment. A few minutes ago, I saw a notice that gym hours are extended somewhat, though not to my liking. But the catch is that I’d have to be–ta daaaaaaaa!–properly gunked.

    Then again, the complex is run by a manager who thinks that she can do her job without leaving the office. She has absolutely no idea what’s going on.

Early in the COVID-19 scenario, Dr. Peter Hotez, of Baylor College of Medicine, testified before Congress about the dangers of accelerating coronavirus vaccine development, saying “(The) unique safety problem of coronavirus vaccines” was discovered 50 years ago while developing the Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) vaccine.”

    He went to register that this “‘paradoxical immune enhancement phenomenon’ means vaccinated people may still develop the disease, get sicker and die.”

    Researchers had seen this same “enhanced immune response” during human testing of the failed RSV vaccine tests in the 1950s. The vaccines not only failed to prevent infection; 80% of the children infected required hospitalization, and two children challenged with the RSV died (see Openshaw, 2005). In April of 2020, Hotez told CNN, “If there is immune enhancement in animals, that’s a showstopper.”
