  1. So, instead of “retiring”, I should move to Illinois and declare myself “unemployed”. I just have to figure out how to hide the monthly pension payouts.

    1. Offshore accounts, Mike and a fake ID. Not legal, but neither is the current regime.

  2. Every policy, regulation, bylaw or Act ever implemented by leftist governments (left or right) is always driven by a mindset to undermine the “free market” economy, property rights, and a personal moral code.

    1. True. Also true is that they can never foresee how the free market will subvert the rules whilst following them.

      1. Politicians take by the threat of imprisonment from the working proletariat.
        Hence other people‘a money.
Proletariat doesn’t mind until it will be too late. By-then, heh, they will find out how economics work.
        Too bloody late.

  4. I spent much of the 1980s on the dole, thanks to the aftermath of PET’s and Mulruin’s policies. I didn’t want to be. I’m of the generation that thought that collecting pogey was shameful and would rather have earned that same amount by working for it.

Evidently, that attitude is now considered antiquated in this “me me me” society.

  5. Gosh. Has anyone counted the percentage of people who play the system and do their working in the cash economy, all while enjoying their entitlements? Time to acknowledge your white privilege and embrace the black market. As for these whiny, snivelers called small business owners, they should smarten up.

  6. With media scrutiny an historical footnote, corporate social media Oligarch censorship of those questioning state profligacy along with mass Eloi apathy and amorality, the political competition for vote purchasing on the pretext of COVID Stalinism is at frantic levels never before seen as bankrupt welfare states race to the cliff to see who reaches the bottom first. Canada appears to be ahead but the US is tough competition. Cue: John Cleese narrating a neck and neck race.

    1. The natural “parasite” class, the public sector, was protected from the Chicom-virus Stalinism which was directed primarily at the service sector, many having been easily converted to a temporary “parasite” class which continues. The facts are that for every dollar of lost income due to his Stalinism, the Spawn spent twenty dollars. The scattergun approach pretty much touched everyone else in addition – industrial-level and unprecedented vote buying. The Eloi will happily re-elect him.

  7. When there is a lack of honor in government, the morals of the whole people are poisoned. There is no such thing as a no-man’s land between honesty and dishonesty. Our strength lies in spiritual concepts. It lies in public sensitiveness to evil. Our greatest danger is not from invasion by foreign armies. Our dangers are that we may commit suicide from within by complaisance with evil, or by public tolerance of scandalous behavior.” – President Herbert Hoover

  8. First time in history that we’ve had leaders smart enough to just print trillions and trillions of dollars and pay people to do nothing!!!!
It’s amazing that we get to be the recipients of this astonishing breakthrough in economics!
    Are we lucky or what?

    1. “un” is a form of lucky. Yes, we are very lucky to live in inflationary times. I would have preferred “blind” or “dumb”, but we’re stuck in the age of “un”.
