Truckers are saying “fuck the log rules, I’m hauling”

Truckers are saying “fuck the log rules, I’m hauling” and they’re getting supplies to the stores. People are stocking the shelves all night and letting old people shop first. Folks are buying meals for truckers, who (obviously) can’t go through the drive-ups. Asking ’em what they want, then buying it for them.

Carnival Cruise Line has told Trump “We can match those big Navy Hospital ships with some fully staffed cruise ships”.

GM and Ford have said “hold our cars and watch this — we can make ventilators where we were just making car parts, starting next week” — by re-engineering seat ventilators which their engineers hacked together for a new purpose. In under a week.

In a project with which I’m loosely associated, a very-effective agricultural disease-control agent was re-purposed and re-labeled specifically for Corona-virus control by the FDA and EPA in under ten days, from initial request to distribution.

Restaurants and schools have said, “we’ve got kitchens and staff; we can feed the poor kids who used have school lunch.”

NBA basketball players have said, “Hold our basketballs while we write checks to pay the arena staff.”

Construction companies are saying, “Here are some high-end masks for medical staff and doctors”.

Distilleries are making sanitizer out of distilling “heads and tails” which are normally discarded. Nasty shit to drink, but effective sanitizer.

People are tipping grocery check-out clerks and thanking them for taking the risk.

Local, state, and county governments are taking control of everything the feds cannot do. Some are doing it wrong, but for the first time in decades … they’re doing it. Federalism is re-emerging, and the smallest unit of government is the individual and the family. This, too, is re-emerging after decades of dormancy.

As Japanese Admiral Isokuru Yamamoto said, after Pearl Harbor … “I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.”

I sense this has just happened. We have a wonderful country, the greatest single force for good in all human history. We have closed our borders, with good reason, yet we have top medical people now assisting North Korea in their response to the virus.

Many things have been re-set, and will never be the same.

By microbiological accident, we are living in profoundly transformative historical times.

    1. It’s that sweet spot where any bureaucrat that wants to cite obscure regulations will be impolitely ignored, and they know it.

The swamp may even drain itself at this rate.

  1. And pm twinky????.. Not so much.. watching Fox and Trump today, they are hitting this like a massive construction project.. Getting shit done .. North of the border?.. Racist chinese chick running the health approach.. No sayee bad things about chinee.. you rasszzzist Canadians,…stay home!.. Politically correct fkn no minds.. I’m sick of their BS.

    1. Well, that’s what you get with a trans person as your medical health officer…………

While the states are pulling out all the stops with a STRONG LEADER challenging all his staff to do better and not take no for an answer, including fast tracking drug therapies used elsewhere, Canaderp has its 6 figure, socialist doctors telling everyone to hide, crawl under rocks, and shut down everything for good, until the bad little bug goes away in 18 months or so.

Thank you Canadian doctors, for re-inforcing 19th century medical strategy for a 21st century battle! YUGE SARC………

  2. Huzzzah…normal ordinary people using their God given intelligence and creativity to the benefit others!

It doesn’t have to be grandiose, it is the little things done daily that make a difference.

Government ain’t gonna help you, its your neighbours, friends, family, and people of good will who are going to lead the way.
    As it should be…

  3. When the history of the pandemic is finally written, it will underline how the “essentials” demonstrated their bravery, resourcefulness and selflessness, and how crisis brought into sharp relief the cowardice, self-absorption, pettiness and utter worthlessness of the “non-essentials.”

What to add?…yes. Bart Hall does not hide the fact that this was an act of War—and act that will result not in the overthrow of President Trump but the undoing of the People’s Republic of China in its current form, and globalism with it.

Americans do not start wars. They just win them—when led by someone who allows them to defeat the enemy so utterly that he never dreams of picking a fight with Uncle Sam again.

The Japanese are gentle as lambs today. Perhaps one day so will the Han Chinese.

    1. The Red Dynasty will fall, as do all dynasties. Centralized state ciontrolled by a dynasty being overthrown leading to periods of anarchy and war lords is the Chinese Way. I can only be thankful that perhaps it will not be a 500 year dynaasty.

I predict its end in 2028; the 80 year dynasty. Rather like the Soviet Union.

      1. Something like that. China is almost three thousand years of periodic dynastic upheaval. It’s usually from an outside source, but occasionally it happens because of internal forces. Was actually discussing this with the missus a couple of weeks ago…she’s pretty historically naive…and once done, she agreed that some internal upheaval was likely to unseat the CCP.

Xi was well on his way to cementing his permanent, personal control over everything. This may be the event that makes him only president for life. This type of regime-changing upheaval in China is rarely resolved quickly, and depending on when and how it starts, we might not notice anything for some time. I personally think Hong Kong was the start of the end, and Meng Wenzhou was another piece breaking off. The virus is a big problem for Xi and his cronies, and if US and Eurozone manufacturing exit the Middle Kingdom, he can kiss his ass goodbye.

Within a decade might be right, but I’m looking more towards mid-century.

  4. I love the fact Trump is going to put a few troops along the border It will have keep the lying buzzard shit here in Canada awake tonight because the UN won’t like it

    1. Those troops could be in Ottawa in an hour, and Chinada Province could be liberated in two.

      Faster, please, Mr. President.

      1. Yes, BRILLIANT move by Trump! A show of strength to TruDOH! that he has not been enforcing the border whatsoever. The focus has been all on Mexico, its about time the focus was north.
I can hardly wait for the exploding heads of the left with their TDS over this. More troops, POTUS, MORE troops, faster please!

        1. A thousand troops only. Drone control/patrol. Keeping an eye on things for illegal border crossings coming their way. Have the backs of the border guys and gals. What’s not to like? A message sent to Kanaduh. “We’re watching, more than usual. We don’t trust you.” Bets they can monitor wifi and cell traffic as well. That’s you Lower Mainland BC especially.

      2. Would be great to have a sensible adult in charge instead of Gerald Butts and his UN Carnival Barker.

  5. The Reddit consensus is very Ontario. Everything is “Thank god I’m Canadian! Hate to be in the states right now!”

Free healthcare! Not like the states!

Trudeau’s doing a great job, unlike Trump!

Twitter, Reddit, Facebook…it’s like a parallel universe. Truly bizarre.

    1. Brainwashed millenials, typical. Sick of TruDOH! emoting his speeches, just sickening. The dope cant think on his feet. Trump’s pressers are a lesson in street smart leadership.

    2. Jeff: Why do you think Canadians have FREE healthcare. We all pay except low income people either through your TAXES through payroll or monthly depends what Province you live in how it is handled. Trump is working on getting rid of the Obama costly health care…you can keep your doctor which was a total lie.

  6. It would be nice if the swift reaction to this crisis leads to changes in the way government does business.
Where government must act, it should get to the point, and perhaps adopt Churchills report guidelines to the actual actions instead.

No more taking over a decade discussing whether or not we should give permission to pursue studying a project further.
No more spending more money on a study to see if something needs to be done than it would cost to actually do it.
I know in Winnipeg in the past, the city would often spend more money on a study to see where they needed to spray for mosquitos than it would have cost to spray the whole city for mosquitos.

Even the media in the US accidentally learned (by praising Trumps response) that they get better ratings when not being hyper partisan shills.

  7. Thank you, Kate, sometimes we need a reminder that we are all in this together. ALL of us, race or religion irrespective. I’m a white man, my children are adopted and Chinese, and despite the racism I have seen on other sites I am proud that Canadians are coming together. I have checked on my elderly neighbours, and I am watching a house where the occupants had to move out. It’s not heroic but it is neighbourly. I’m now an “essential” worker but that’s ok, too. We’ll make it through this, and as much as this isn’t a famine it may be just what we needed.

  8. History tells us that our Ancestor’s came together and had Barn raising events, Tribal communities came together to fight a common enemy… But after the event everybody when back to their Family/tribal Unit…

Individualism can Co-exist… The Communists are fucked

    1. You hear that comrade Juthtin.
      Dont despair.
You’re gonna get some before Sofie let’s you near her again.

  9. And the party that was supposed to topple the criminal gang in Ottawa at the first opportunity, declared their complacency and tucked their tail between their legs. C.A.N.A.D.A.

  10. Well, we rolled up interstate 44
Like a rocket sled on rails.
We tore up all of our swindle sheets,
And left ’em settin’ on the scales.

    1. I got ten forward gears and a Georgia overdrive…
I’m taking little white pills and my eyes are open wide!

  11. I for one am damned glad that President Trump is the guy in charge, could you imagine what things would be like if Biden were President. The USA is very fortunate in having a leader who knows how to get get things done and handle a crisis. The Demoncrats only know how to exploit one. Trudeau is only worried about what his globalist pals at the UN will think while he sits around doing nothing but admiring the Chinese dictatorship.

    1. How ’bout those CONS, ‘eh? Straight up crew. Got yer backs, too. Just got a raise for sweet bugger all.
      #WEXIT

  12. While our “leader loser” stays inside with likely a bout of cornolavirus Trump gets things done. Real people go ahead and produce while millies clutch their therapy teddy bears eh blackie.

  13. “…agricultural disease-control agent was re-purposed and re-labeled specifically for Corona-virus control…”

    That must be asian orange?

  14. I’ve noticed in the past weeks people in cars doing strange and dangerous things. I truck everywhere in western Canada and have for a couple decades. Truckin’ is 99.9% unrelenting tedium and .!% sheer f#@cking terror. I don’t have the Facebox but I occasionally see what’s on there. People have been putting stuff up that makes truckers into saints for doing what we do every day. We haul goods. Every day. If, as a 4 wheeler, you just realized this please just give us a little space to merge or change lanes, that’s all we’ve ever wanted or needed. In the last week I’ve experienced bewildering displays that, frankly, put motorists at large in more danger. People slowing down upon approach and putting flashers on, same when I overtake them, immediately upon passing they continue at speed again. I worry that some inexperienced drivers will cause an accident by their actions as they try to avoid these spontaneous displays of “respect” for truckers. Just give us a friendly wave, a toot on the horn or maybe a flash of the goods as we pass. We’ll all be safer for it.

  15. I shared this post on my Facebook page and some of my Leftie friends actually got offended by it.

I’ve grown convinced that Being A Victim is an aspiration, a drug if you will, that they don’t want to part with.

So every time they see someone taking charge and doing something, they get jealous rather than inspired. I believe this, in a nutshell, is one of the main problems facing our society today?!
