  1. I watched this interview and my takeaway was that Lara Logan excoriated the biased media and their fake news. She actually seemed quite bitter toward the MSM.

    1. I agree. She appeared on FNC’s Sean Hannity Show in a shorter interview and got the same point across to viewers. She is a smart lady and won’t allow a powerful network to bully her.

      Reminds me of the book you recommended “The Smear” by Sharyl Attkisson who had similar issues with CBS which you wrote about, in your comments here, Ken.

      Both women found a ‘home’ at FNC.

And this is why you will be gagged with your own socks, the free internet and free speech have to be stopped because they do not want and will not allow you the citizen to go off the reservation and speak and think for yourself and infect your fellow citizen with what they consider radical views like Freedom and Liberty.
    Freedom and Liberty are very Dangerous to Despots. And in Canada 99% of our Elite Controllers and Managers are Despots. Our Media, Our Politicians our whole undemocratic appointed Democracy are Despotic. They have an agenda for you and you will submit. You will accept the brainwashing or you will be gagged.

    1. Yes, you are free to do what the government says you can. It has been that way for decades in Canada. I have watched as freedom after freedom has been curtailed in the best interest of Canadians. Many people fail to realize that rules and regulations are law and we must follow them.

  3. She’s just wrong. The press, well, it just ain’t never coming back. The US no longer has a “paper of record”; and it never will again.

    Bob Woodward, is only a hero, because it was a Republican president. They say “this isn’t the New York Times of 50 years ago”. Really? Cause weren’t they against Reagan just as much as they are now against Trump? Weren’t they doing to Goldwater what they tried to do to Kavanaugh?

    In my opinion, the NYT of today is EXACTLY the same as the NYT of 50 years ago. The only real change is they have given up the pretense. They no longer lie about or try to hide what they really are.

    1. How many decades has the NYT been running cover for Democrats like Ted Kennedy? The NYT of today, IS, your grandfather’s NYT. Denial doesn’t change that.

      So being subtle about your bias, instead of being heroin addict in withdrawl about it, is the only difference between “good” journalism and what we have today?

      1. This goes beyond the political leanings of journos. The Russia Collusion thing may appear to be a lefty initiative but that’s because the HRC Dems had aligned with the deep state (the Neo-cons went over to the Dems) vs a Trump who was going to clip wings and get out of wars. Was Brennan motivated by lefty ideology? Once the press has been subverted by the deep state (Operation Mockingbird) how can any journalist go about claiming credibility??

        So when it comes to the stuff that really matters, the teams join & close ranks and MSM provides cover. Then after the fact the truth comes out. In the case of Iraq we got some mea culpa’s & never agains from MSM. But not this go over the Russia collusion hoax. The are doubling down with more absurdities.

        After Vietman, they realized they needed to embed journalists with military vs having them run around the countryside and sending home photos of kids getting napalmed. Just the fact that a journ is embedded says the narrative is being controlled. And so the likes of Julian Assange must be silenced.

        Yes the NYT is populated by partisan hacks, but they have actually run good stories too (outed Hillary’s email server).

        The dam of Trump hatred is breaking off, one piece at a time, with his approval rating at 53%, from Rasmussen.

        That’s important because they’re the only pollster to come close to getting the POTUS 2016 election right.

        The momentum, not the number is what’s revealing.

        Maybe you’ve been cleaning your FN in a poorly ventilated room and the oil fumes are affecting you?

        Or do you simply like to complain with your particular brand of cannibal conservatism?

        Anyway, free speech and all that rot; good on you. I wish all the so-called conservative political saboteurs were so honest.

    2. Exactly. If you all recall, Stalin’s buddy, Walter Duranty, was their star reporter and columnist during the 1930s. The NYT is just more open today about being a Democrat water carrier.

    3. They only gave up hiding their deceptions because the internet exposed them and they are much less effective for the loss of their pretence.

    4. The only reason they gave up the pretence was that they were exposed by the internet. They are much less effective propagandists since they lost credible claim to unbiased reportage and they know it. They are grasping desperately at any straw that offers the slightest hope of restoring credibility as they plunge down the cliff face of public opinion. They have not yet realized the full extent of their loss but if there is no unforseeable event they soon shall.
      It is not the fall that kills. It is the sudden stop at the bottom.
      Faster please.

  4. I nodded my head through the entire interview, until the segment she discusses her career as a woman and her views as a successful women in her industry.
    My take away was, she’s not obedient enough to be a feminist. And that is now going to be my pithy acknowledgment when the topic of feminism comes up, I’m not obedient enough to be a feminist!

  5. When I first heard of Lara Logan she had only just escaped the Media Mill and was a little uncertain what it was all aboiut except that something was wrong and she couldn’t abide it. Now, she has developed into a very credible witness.

  6. Kevin; Bang on! Go back even further to what Randolf Hurst had to deal with as the communist moved into his newspapers. I go back to Goldwater as well and I cannot remember a Republican candidate for POTUS, elected ore unelected, who was not to old or a nutcase. If Reagan was too old where does that leave Biden. No debate about that?

    Although Mitt Romney’s credentials as a conservative have been questioned I still believe him to be the best POTUS nominee in many decades. He had the business cred that Trump could only hope for. The fact that a light weight like Obama beat him is the equivalent of Turdeau beating Harper. A sad future is the inevitable result.

  7. The thing is that most people here realize that the discussion speaks to the political corruption of the media cartel.
    The media cartel having virtually monopoly on print, radio and television news will not, as a matter of course, not publicize this.
    The media cartel will scoff and move on.

    It will remain, for the most part, to be heard and read by those that already know that of what was said.
    Perhaps it is up to those that know to spread the word.
    Have personal experience that it is very close to impossible for the believers to accept, it may bring down the house of cards that they built for themselves and to admit to being indoctrinated.
    Being brainwashed means you can’t accept anything that deviates from the doctrines.
    If you say to those that things are actually different, there is slight chance and no chance that they will accept a word of what you say.
    And that’s the way it works.
    It’s been studied and put in practice by the national and other socialists and communists. So far it worked every time it was tried and people died.

  8. Good to hear from a journalist with a backbone who has the courage to blow the whistle on the institutional left that runs the show. George Soros (Media Matters) is to the msm what Butts was to the Spawn.
