“we would of course line up all kinds of people to write op-eds saying that what she was doing is proper”

February 28: UNPOSSIBLE!

March 1: DON’T WORRY! BE HAPPY!

March 3: “THERE’S NO SCANDAL HERE!

That didn’t take long.

  1. Nothing to see here folks ….now just move along . Bought and paid for media …………

  2. Kate, you should read the new Paul Wells column Mar 4th.

    “Justin Trudeau, the Imposter”
    https://www.macleans.ca/politics/ottawa/justin-trudeau-imposter/

He eviscerates Trudeau to the point where one begins to think, that there might be another whole layer underneath the SNC story. These comment from Wells are friendly fire, they may also be trying to cut down the posse at the pass. Give up one of their guys, to save it all.

The whole new magazine is full of disparaging articles against Trudeau and his administration.

    1. Must be an ulterior motive, either that or Macleans know this is a real scandal and don’t want to lose any more credibility by supporting what would be considered corruption immediately if this were a Conservative administration. No doubt they’d like to up their readership too and that doesn’t happen as long as they’re an arm of Liberals at all levels.

      1. I, too, am wondering what happened with Mr Wells. Absent any indication of something nefarious, my working assumption is that he just got tired of being continually disappointed by Junior’s actions and their indefensibility.

        1. Paul Wells, long-time Liberal Apologist Extraordinaire, would only recant if there was something huge!

          And there is!

          With very incriminating film footage!

He has discovered that Trudeau realized that getting out of Dodge is his best option.

To that end, the photogenic Trudeau family left 2 days ago for a European Tour; where surely, the sophisticated, along with a extremely helpful Canadian Op-Ed Regime can restore the tragically missing eximious lustre of yesterday.

Unfortunately, things have not gone quite as well as they were hoping:

          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbF_7TiG5bg

“See the old country while there is still something left”.

Any verisimilitude to reality is bang on!

    2. The opening of Well’s piece confirms something if its understood that he is quoting those unnamed liberals, that was the open secret.

“The whole point of amending the Criminal Code to provide for deferred prosecution agreements (DPAs) was to make that option—a sort of negotiated fine in lieu of a trial for fraud and bribery—available to SNC-Lavalin.”

So then it was expected that the outcome was that when the law came into effect, (90 days after royal assent of the budget omnibus bill) SNC would be getting that plan for DPA. The 90 day mark by the way was the same day the Sockmonkey had his meeting with JWR.
Just guessing that if there where leaks coming out of the Department of Public Prosecutions then there would be leakage coming to that office that the fix was in the day the budget bill was tabled.

  3. Rob Silver, started showing up again on P&P at the beginning of Jan, likely ready to start massaging the narrative on SNC and Raybould. The guy is one creepy mfer. But never was there any disclosure about his incestuous relationship with the Trudeau government on the State Funded Broadcaster. No different than media in the USA, their full of former Democrats, or have arms length relationships with Democrats,,,,,,,and Democrats have many undisclosed incestuous relationships with media in high and low places.

    1. All of the corporate and State Media operating in this diseased State are whole owned subsidiary’s of the Liberal Party and they do as the Libranos demand they do… it has been this way since Peeair imposed his CRTC thought police as guardians of the Trudopian ideology… alternate voices to the Liberal ideology are strictly verbotten… anyone who follows politics in this e-nazi State knows that… ask Sun News… The PMO derived term, “Irregular migrants” is a prime example of the Liberal/Media incestuous relationship … a mendacious Liberal Party narrative dutifully and unquestionably regurgitated by all corporate and State Media. The Media and the feckless turds employed within are scum-bags through and through, they haven’t an ounce of integrity or character, none of them…. the Media’s agenda largely remains the same as it was when the Libranos appointed Turdhole emperor… protect the figure head with the empty head at all costs.

  4. Every Op-ed that supports the government is now tainted with suspicion of collusion.
    Serves them right.

Download the dissenter extension, and you can comment on any op-ed, even those without a comments section.

  5. Our Governments, Supreme Courts Justices and media are against ordinary joe and Joanne fly over Canadians for the large leftist Globalist cities in Canada help keep Canadians hostage in this Globalist leftist socialist nightmare.

Time for all us normal regular day folks to take back our country from the corrupt power in our country.

Can we really trust any of the current political parties?

    They are all corrupt…

    Everything is corrupt…

    We need a new beginning…

    We need a miracle…

      1. Harper and the conservatives had their chance…

        They kept the CBC…

Proof they are just like the Liberals and the same party same corruption just the other side of the same coin is that con?

        1. One of my biggest disappointments with Harper was not scrapping the CBC. He should have defunded it on the first day of his majority.

          1. Dont worry Sheer wont do it either…

The powers that control Canada the corrupt Globalist and Media Presstitutes will never allow it.

We are Not Strong and Free!

  6. Telford keeps a low profile.
    Harder to scalp.
The Liberals have circled the wagons.
Buttsplug is coming to the rescue.

  7. …And polls. The PMO is lining up supportive polls too.

I’d imagine Abacus is already manufacturing poll results that support the narrative of the op-eds, which support the narrative of Trudeau’s PMO, which supports the narrative of Quebec inc.

The daughter of Abacus’ boss Bruce Anderson is Trudeau’s Dirr of Comms. Abacus isn’t the only liberal friendly polling firm. The Liberal friends and family network is pretty extensive or just old fashioned paying for supportive op-eds and polls.

Does anyone think that pollsters and media minions have not already been given advance reports of Gerald Butts testimony? There’ll be a flood of support after his visit to the justice committee. Probably also the usual suspects of academics and retired political hacks. Quite a few #justinjornos have already started prep work this with variations of “Canadians must wait to hear the other side”

    1. LC Bennett: EXACTLY…you must hire the people you need to keep yourself in good POLL standing Bruce Anderson is Lie-bral through and through and will lie like the rest. Silver of Creative Strategies is managing Gerry Butts strategy….this could bring the rest of JWR testimony out along with more proof of the corruption the LIE-BRALS do…do so well!!! We need to hear JWR rest of the story from when she was asked to step down as AG, Trudeau has bar her from speaking. I do believe she can do so in Committee or the House of Commons. Maybe it is time!

  8. Trudeau’s $575 million gift to the liberal media, predominately, could not have come at a better time; seeing as how he’s being investigated for collusion on another front. This just adds to the Justin ‘mystique’.

  9. The Canadian Media don’t mention who’s MONEY was used by SNC to bribe Libya. It was not Libyan money… It sounds like the OLD Canadian template used by that defunct phone Company.. chasing US foreign aid to Shithole Countries….How many similar scams are in play?

Obstruction of justice took place when Turdo wanted to turn the SNC file over to a third party….That was a threat!

BTW: Does some hidden Canadian God Father have to OK an investigation, or are they just lazy & Stupid…

    JMHO

  10. The CBC is, by far, the largest and most powerful news media organization in the country. I have listened to numerous CBC radio reports over several days on Jody Wilson-Raybould’s testimony before the parliamentary committee. It is consistent, and persistent, messaging with two main themes:
    1) the prime minister and the PMO staffers were simply concerned about preserving Canadian jobs – nothing wrong with that;
    2) Jody Wilson-Raybould herself said there was nothing illegal in the behaviour of the PM and the PMO staffers – so what is all the fuss about?
No mention ever of whether a criminal offense (obstruction of justice ) was committed. No mention of the PM and his staffers continuing their efforts to overturn JWB’s decision even after the matter was before the court (SNC-Lavalin filed an action in court in October asking the court to grant it a deferred prosecution agreement). No mention of whether the RCMP should investigate.

The CBC’s coverage of the SNC-Lavalin scandal is dramatically different from its approach to the Mike Duffy affair, where it relentlessly pursued the matter over many months, all in thinly veiled effort to discredit Stephen Harper who had cut funding to the CBC. Justin Trudeau campaigned on increasing funding to the CBC and did so shortly after he was elected. Does money talk?

    1. Just because the CBC wastes a lot of money does not mean they are relevant. Look at their tv and radio ratings. Nobody gives a sh!t about the CBC. Perhaps with the exception of the Ottawa market.

      1. “so what”: I wish what you said were true, but unfortunately it is not. If you check the radio ratings, you will find that CBC Radio One is typically at the top, or near the top, in every market area in Canada. That means a lot of listeners to its left-wing, pro-Liberal Party propaganda.

        1. Radio market is too fractured. At most they have 7 to 9 % of the total audience. They are near the top only because they command a sticky demographic share of old geriatrics that have not migrated to new platforms. And the ratings don’t include people listening to satellite radio which is what I listen to. So the stats themselves aren’t even valid. Rigged numbers to get dwindling set of advertisers which continue to abandon old media platforms.

        2. We listen to the local broadcasts on Radio One which are reasonably good and certainly better than anything else on the dial here. Also listen to Radio Two when the classics are on; otherwise switch to CKUA. And we are definitely NOT left-wing people.

          1. I stopped listening to CKUA when it started running ads by Red Rachel. I always suspected the station of being left-leaning, but that did it for me.

  11. When it comes to turdo and our media, there is that old quote variously (mis)attributed to Shaw, Churchill, or Russell.

“Madame, we have already established what you are. We are now merely haggling over the price.”

And that was recently established at $598,000,000.00.

  12. I think “we can line up supportive op-eds” will damage Liberals as much as “beer and popcorn”. Maybe more damaging if you include the media’s damaged credibility.

“They’re “lining up supportive op-eds” right now” can and should be repeated by the opposition parties everytime there is a Liberal controversy, after the budget, during the election, etc….make the Liberals and #justinjournos wear those words forever. Hopefully voters will eventually question all news supporting the Liberals, not knowing which are authentic and which were ordered up by Trudeau’s PMO.

  13. That piece of journalistic fluff has all the hallmarks of Liberal talking points, including smearing the former A-G:

“Yes, Ms. Wilson-Raybould has lost her dream portfolio but why should that be a scandal? She provoked the PM with her decision, showed herself to not be a team player (a notion robustly reaffirmed by her committee testimony against the Liberals last week) and caused Mr. Trudeau a potential political problem – and yes, Virginia, political factors do tend to influence politicians.”

    1. Only a Liberal could be so obtuse that they think “being a team player” trumps everything. Party loyalty trumps integrity. Absolute compliance trumps personal conscience. Grubby electoral politics trumps the rule of law. Quebec interests, jobs and votes trumps all other Canadian interests, jobs and votes.

This really tells you all you need to know about the character of the Liberal Party and their supporters.

      1. Actually, in party politics, “being a team player” knows no exclusions. I remember the same criticism of Mad Max before I resigned from the local Conservative EDA.

The difference with the LPC is that their ownership of the media entitles them to corruption on a scale no Conservative government could ever survive.

  14. I think a coupla things have happened here.

    1. The librano announcement that 600 million is going to ‘media’. This announcement immediately compromised the independence of the journo crowd. They may have secretly been cheering but they had to put on a brave public face and denounce the government by writing articles that proved their independence.

    2. The ‘wickedly smart’ katie telford further impinged their moral character by suggesting the libranos could summons up a cabal of compliant scribes to write fawning articles in support of librano malfeasance.

Maybe Wells and Macleans have decided to go ‘old school’ and not acquiesce to the libranos on every issue?

Who is the editor of Macleans these days? I don’t think Ken Whyte is still there. He came out of Alberta Report and was the first editor of the Nat Post. A solid guy.

One more point. The cbc pimping Rod Silver is standard practice at the Corpse. Why bother disclosing ‘all’ his credentials? The audience is stupid and don’t need the details – they wouldn’t make the connection to telford anyway.
The Corpse star bingo caller Rosie O’Barton has a kid with a librano insider. Does that compromise her authority??? Apparently not.

    1. The CBC is bought and paid for by Liberal power-brokers. They long ago lost any objectivity they may have once had.

  15. The last article was highly disappointing, notwithstanding the political sycophantry.

So you can let a business get away with fraud to “protect jobs,” itself a bogus issue and threatened before by SNC Lavalin.

They wanted to let them off and that’s their problem, because the public will not support that nonsense.

Are Canadians supposed to subsidize or support poorly run, indeed corrupt business like GM, Bombardier and SNC?

Either way, we’re ponying up the cash to businesses that misuse our resources and our trust, who’s only real forte is siphoning taxpayer dollars into their coffers to buy hookers or produce low quality overpriced products.

ITrudeau and the Grit grifters don’t understand this political salting is unacceptable, along with their poor results elsewhere, the free ride is over.

The millennials are set to desert him this October because he got them their pot and nobody wants to take it away.

If the right was actually united under one leader, then I’d say we have a chance. Imported Dem radical racist cum moderate sliming has already begun. Remember Scheer, and Bernier in Quebec are alt-rights who one hand want to throw you to the wolves and the other hand tell you what to do, depending on the issue. The Grits say that’s too confusing and it’s better to be told what to do on all the issues. That’s “easier.” Escape From Freedom. The Road to Serfdom. The Fatal Conceit.

Now our boy blunder cabin boy says forget about this scandal and move onto more pressing issues – like climate change.

Works for me. As Napoleon said, “never interfere with your enemy when he is making a mistake.”

  16. I have to chuckle at the current theme in the msm, that Trudeau’s “gender balanced Cabinet” was a wonderful thing, admirable beyond words. So, JWR got HER position due to the balanced Cabinet and Trudeau got caught by his own lack of reasoning ability, a condition which seems to affect all progressives.
In the Chretien era Our Jean would NEVER have put anyone but a person with clear understanding of “our thing” into such an important Cabinet position. He must have cringed when he saw Trudeau’s shiny new GB Cabinet.

Idealists make poor leaders unless their idealism is balanced by a high level of intellect, and I don’t need to state the obvious here. So, we have an eminently under qualified woman in Environment, and another one in Foreign Affairs, another in Indian Affairs, but they ARE women and they balanced the Cabinet, and that’s all that counted to our juvenile PM.

  17. You know the media are in the last stages of cancer when the best they can come up with is something akin to: Fraud isn’t that bad, and it’s not a real crime to lie steal and cheat people? They sicken me, it’s clear our justice system is up for sale, when the rich can pay a fine but the peasants are sent to jail for the same crime well it’s known as a corrupt justice system. The media can spin those facts all they want but they now reek of corruption. Any journalist’s paid to write positive op-eds on Justine should be forced to state that in the first sentence of said op-ed.

  18. The Gropenfeuhrer has a history of using indigenous folks as props. Thus we saw his use of Patrick Brazeau who “fit the narrative” so he could try and look tough to prop up his image. Thus we see how he appointed Jody Wilson-Raybould as AG in order to fit his diversity/feminist facade. When he no longer needed to do so, he jettisoned her. This man is a vile hypocrite…..how anyone with any sense of morality can support him is beyond me.

  19. Funny, what no one, that I have seen, anyway, has written that the big surprise here to the Liberal elites was that there was one amongst them with an actual conscience, one who couldn’t be bought.

That I believe is the BIG STORY here. Liberals should try and look at this as a complimentary and positive story about their party, ….that there is actually one person at a high level who actually believes in those lofty principles that the others are usually so outwardly sanctimonious about, but which they seldom observe.

Now, if the Liberals are banished to the political wilderness, as they so justly deserve, there will at least be a Moses who can lead them back to respectability.

  20. If the media aren’t covering for him why don’t they question his ridiculous claims about protecting Canadian jobs?
If SNC can’t bid on Canadian government contracts some other Canadian company will.
Trudeau said it may affect 9000 jobs all across Canada.
    How?

    1. Those 9000 jobs have an employer that readily employs kickback schemes.
It’s easier to get work if palms are greased.
SNC Lavlin is one of the non political wings of the Libranos.
Even The Sopranos had legitimate businesses like waste management and Bada Bing

  21. Being long of tooth and short of hair this “scandal” does not surprise me, nor should it surprise any in my demographic. Having said that it has occurred to me that in the distant past some editor boasted that the opinion writers in the press could make or break a politician. My memory doesn’t remember the details but I believe it was a topic here at SDA in the day. Perhaps some of the commentators here could find it and give it a posting to enlighten those Canadians that are still being led around by the nose.

  22. Ah yes, the “firewall” of Liberal friendly editors would surely block any Liberal friendly defense of the PM’s actions. The MSM would have more credibility if the did not try to suppress opinions coming from The Rebel — the only alternative media voice in Canada. Instead, they remain silent when the Rebel is blocked from such things as the signing of the migration pact. Conservative journalists are blackmailed if they contribute to the Rebel and politicians shunned when they agree to a Rebel interview. There simply is no free press when public voices all say the same thing — news becomes propaganda. That is what we have.

Barbara Yaffe should have stayed retired. As for insignificant “scandals” she has overlooked Bev Oda’s, “who wrote the Not?”, and of course the media pile on over the ultimately insignificant Duffygate”. During Harper’s tenure, there was a constant parade of non-scandals routinely pushed by the Liberal friendly media. Barbara forgets.

    1. “Trudeau in Toronto to launch climate campaign, challenge Ford government’s carbon tax resistance…”

And Dougie is trying to win green brownie points by NOT cancelling some of those wind farms he said he was going to deep six.

  23. Can we stop the deference implied by usage of the terms “media” “journalists” “msm” “editors” and call them what they are. PRESSTITUTES, bought-and-paid-for.

They hate that term as much as FAKE NEWS, thats why you should use it as frequently as possible.

Ezra got libranos to stick to the lieberals, with a bit of effort presstitute can do the same.

  24. Maybe Justin will stay over in Europe. I hear they are running out of feminists, something to do with climate change or maybe just bad luck.

  25. So, they dig up the corpse of Babs Yappy? Really, that’s the best they can do? Crimes, they really are desperate! She was a real comedian back in the day, everything she wrote was pure nonsense, nothing much has changed!

  26. The CBC, etc, don’t care if Trudeau is dirty as filth itself, they have absolutely bullshitted themselves into believing that Conservatives and our common values are evil, intolerant and cruel. I believe the left are actually becoming phobic of the idea of Conservatives regaining power in this country. If you have spent any time listening to the CBC, then you know they are as rabid a group of Trump/Deplorables-haters as any CNN or MSNBC devotees.

I’ll bet the reaction to seeing Scheer by the average CBC viewer is…. “I’ve seen that guy before, he’s the one who keeps standing up in Parliament and lying about Justin.”
