A Billion Here, A Billion There

Pretty soon you’re talking real Trudeau;

On Thursday, Parliamentary Budget Officer Yves Giroux released a report into last spring’s purchase of Trans Mountain by Ottawa from its American owners, Kinder Morgan. Giroux calculates the feds spent as much as $1 billion too much.

    1. I believe TM was valued at about 2.25B, before the purchase, but nevertheless Juthin paid too much.

    2. The Parliamentary Budget Officer is wrong, and your estimate is more wrong. The government paid $4.5billion + interest too much. They didn’t have the money, they have to borrow it, and they ought not to have bought the pipeline in any case.

Justin Trudeau is not loyal to Canada.

    3. Amateur hour all around. Justin and Chrystia grate on me so much and I just figured out why. Combined they are Joe Clark. Boy-Scouts.

Even Chrystia’s Toronto neighbours are figuring this out, not her NY neighbors where she lives with her NYTimes husband, but her Rosedale folk such as Margaret Wente who says:

“Canada’s diplomatic troubles aren’t just with China. We’re on the outs with Saudi Arabia, too. This matters to SNC-Lavalin, which revealed huge financial problems with its business there. The reason: Boy Scoutism. A tweet last August by Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland’s office expressed Canada’s support for jailed Saudi dissidents. Then, last month, Ms. Freeland staged a heartwarming, but shameless photo-op with the fleeing Saudi teenager, Rahaf Mohammed. All Canadians can agree with these sentiments, but the Saudis are steaming mad, and they’re showing their displeasure in any way they can.”

      1. The ukerainian sausage queen is perhaps the worst example of a Foreign Affairs minister there is.

As the head of the diplomatic corp you should have some idea of diplomacy. Freeland is a strident ideologue who wants to settle scores.

The country is laughed at throughout the world.

  1. And all of it went to a US company employing US workers to build US pipelines. Paid for by the Canadian taxpayer.
US wins, Canada loses. Thanks, Justin!

  2. On Bloomberg-BNN an analyst complained that there is no available data to judge the value of the pipeline but based on estimates of capacity and oil prices the pipeline could generate $200 million in cash per year giving a valuation of 24-30 times earnings, or roughly 2.0-2.5 times more than other comparable projects. The government likely paid twice what the pipeline is worth on the open market.

  3. And all of it went to a US company to employ US workers to build US pipelines to carry US oil. Paid for by the Canadian taxpayers.
US wins, Canada loses. Again and again and again. Thanks, Justin!

  4. The Parliamentary Budget Officer’s calculations are wrong, and yours more so.

The government paid $4.5 billion + interest too much. $4.5 billion they didn’t have on buying something they ought not to have bought, and they have to borrow the money to pay for it.

Justin Trudeau is not loyal to Canada.

  5. Young Trudeau paid 4.5 Billion too much. Lets not lose sight of the fact that industry was prepared to fund it, with no cost to the overtaxed taxpayer.

  6. And more good news from Groper. CTV reports that the Liberal government is debating whether to have two stat holidays regarding whiny indians instead of one. One stat holiday would be for celebrating indians and the other stat holiday would be for feeling bad about how they have been treated in the past.

  7. All that Ottawa needed to spend on Trans Mountain was the price of however much live ammunition it took to convince Chief Big Screen and his white “allies” to go bother somebody else.

But what does Justin care? It won’t be his little darlings who starve and freeze because the Chinese have repossessed all our arable land along with our oil reserves, and everything worth eating or burning goes over the Pacific.

In the meantime, Chief Big Screen will get to buy the pipeline at a fraction of fair value, and the whole tribe will turn out to vote Liberal.

      1. Indians should be pursuing better dental care, rather than preventing others from seeking prosperity in the important and much-needed oil industry.

You can’t sell enough carvings to feed your tribe there Tonto. You need the oil money from whitey to continue keepin’ on.

  8. Turdhole’s boss Gerry (Heinrich Himmler) Buttface accepted money from American billionaires when he worked for the WWF… Buttface was paid by foreigners to sabotage Alberta Saskatchewan energy sector and he continues that sabotage to this day, but now he does it from inside the PMO, and not one so called “journalist” is interested in that story. Himmler told Turdhole to buy the Pipeline (Nationalize) so that they wouldn’t have to ever build the damn thing, simple as that. Crazy Peeairs experimental country can’t end soon enough for me, before it gets worse.

    1. Sean, you get a huuuge bingo for that comment. You nail exactly what happened. The traitors to Canada bought the line so that it would never get built.

  9. The Big buy was a coverup of a Corrupt Court decision… The law suit by Kinder would have revealed the flawed Canadian judicial system to the world… and triple damages……So the Turd bought out the shareholders and then Trump bent the Turd over and keep the Trade Agreement’s (old NAFTA) punitive conditions… The Socialists hate those rules…

Of course Alberta could “still” use the not withstanding clause to challenge the Court… and all the corruption would see the light of day… All the Court (Fact findings) were feelings of “subjective” blather without any defined substance…

BTW: Now that the Canadian Feds own the pipeline…..Why should BC still own the GAS at the well head?

    JMHO

  10. It’s only worth more if someone would have purchased it and was prepared to finish the project.

I guessing no other buyer would have come forward. So it wasn’t an overpay was it?

  11. In inflation adjusted dollars, the waste of money in buying out Trans Mountain is a mere fraction of the over-payment and loss upon selling of what his father was responsible for with Petrocan. Given that the Spawn is only half of the evil genetic material found in Pierre with the other half, a messed up hippy and Liberal Senator’s princess, he can’t compete, but instead follows his spiritual leader, Bishop Butts.

He never intended to build the expansion. He only bought it to avoid KM declaring Canada toxic by halting construction. His pretense to eventually build it is safe now as the truth won’t come out until he is re-elected, if then.

  12. I’d like to see that be the basis for an election poster. Prinz Dummkopf’s picture with the caption “Would you buy a used pipeline from this man?”

Bernier would likely do something like that. The Dippers might. Scheep? Need I ask?

    1. Andy Scheep? Andy Shear? Andy 2%?

      2% is watered down milk.

He’s docile like a liberal in a blue suite. Docile like he wants a job at the CBC.

It doesn’t matter what a conservative does, the CBC will never say a good word. Just privatize it.

  13. Who gives a fack. The criminal feds pay over 2 billion a month just on debt interest payments. Canadistan is a shithole joke.

  14. Costs and finances dont matter to LIEbrawls but posturing does.

This was all about stopping the pipeline, not saving it, despite the blatherings from Groper, Leisuresuit Larry, and the rest of the LIEbrawl clownshow.

    Election is coming.

        Bingo!

But this idiot thinks it is more important to follow her heart, and we couldn’t deny her self-fulfillment, could we? I mean, all her Liberal homies agree with her, and the interests of all the little people really don’t count, anyway, because she’s enlightened, and they are not.

  15. In the comments of that post,Imagine what they would spend if they really planned to build the expansion.
Paying 2 billion too much ain’t nothing.
These are Liberals they will spend billions more, until we exterminate them.
    Politically of course.
Although I find myself rooting for the Hair Apparent to be reelected with even larger vote counts in the East.
Only some more real pain is going to convince Westerners that Canada has their back..That why there is a big knife sticking out of it.
One more year of Justine ought to do it.

  16. Implement the Leap Manifesto by any means necessary.

    This amateurism reeks of Trudeau.

This waste of taxpayer money reeks of Butts.
