From the paper that buried Spygate;
The “Dry Alabama” Facebook page, illustrated with stark images of car wrecks and videos of families ruined by drink, had a blunt message: Alcohol is the devil’s work, and the state should ban it entirely.
Along with a companion Twitter feed, the Facebook page appeared to be the work of Baptist teetotalers who supported the Republican, Roy S. Moore, in the 2017 Alabama Senate race. “Pray for Roy Moore,” one tweet exhorted.
In fact, the Dry Alabama campaign, not previously reported, was the stealth creation of progressive Democrats who were out to defeat Mr. Moore — the second such secret effort to be unmasked. In a political bank shot made in the last two weeks of the campaign, they thought associating Mr. Moore with calls for a statewide alcohol ban would hurt him with moderate, business-oriented Republicans and assist the Democrat, Doug Jones, who won the special election by a hair-thin margin.
Matt Osborne, a veteran progressive activist who worked on the project, said he hoped that such deceptive tactics would someday be banned from American politics. But in the meantime, he said, he believes that Republicans are using such trickery and that Democrats cannot unilaterally give it up.
“If you don’t do it, you’re fighting with one hand tied behind your back,” said Mr. Osborne, a writer and consultant who lives outside Florence, Ala. “You have a moral imperative to do this — to do whatever it takes.”
The discovery of Dry Alabama, the second so-called false flag operation by Democrats in the fiercely contested Alabama race, underscores how dirty tricks on social media are creeping into American politics. The New York Times reported last month on a separate project that used its own bogus conservative Facebook page and sent a horde of Russian-looking Twitter accounts to follow Mr. Moore’s to make it appear as if he enjoyed Russian support.
More at Daily Caller.

So. Why has the Grey Lady (with the blessing of her creditors) seen fit to print this story now?
That is the right question. Simply put, whenever the NYT’s volunteers information damaging to their chosen agenda and foot soldiers, you can bank on the fact that there is more to the story much more damaging and destructive to that same agenda. This is the tip of the iceberg. The NYT’s can now say, “Old news, we covered that story already.”
I’d guess that the powers that be at Facebook had full knowledge of this little operation.
And, there you go: https://dailycaller.com/2019/01/08/democrat-facebook-campaign-supress/
A Republican group should be formed that reports sexual impropriety on every single Democrat candidate or appointee. The practice would get old quickly. The stupidity with the Kavanaugh appointment was that he is a globalist who Obama might have appointed himself. If Kavanaugh had been turned down, I’m guessing his replacement wouldn’t have been as digestible to Democrats. Bader-Mainhoff’s replacement is going to be a pro-life real conservative church-going woman and commie heads will be exploding.
And she should be dropped with the Nuclear option. Hopefully BEFORE Harry Reid draws his last breath.
I cannot WAIT to hear a dottering ollllllld feeble Dianne Feinstein introducing “evidence” that this female nominee for the SCOTUS diddled one of her young Law Clerks. Great TV!!!
scarp, as long as that ‘church’ is a muzzlamic church, I’m good with that. “church” should stay out of politics, butt absolutely out of the justice system.
If the past two years have proved anything, it is that the USA is just brilliant at conducting investigations, brilliant!
Unfortunately, nothing ever comes of these investigations, no one is ever fired, indicted, or imprisoned. It DOES make great theater for the peasants, and we can all sleep better knowing if there is malfeasance, there WILL be an investigation.
The America system, which I always believed was superior to ours, is nothing more than a facade designed to protect the political classes. It figures, when you have a system designed and tweaked by lawyers and more lawyers at every step of the process, what else can you expect.
One of our conservative websites should start giving out “oskars” for performances in the political realm.
… is nothing more than a facade designed to protect the political classes.
Yep. Nobody ever gets fired. No one serves an appropriate prison sentence. No pensions are ever denied. Kabuki Theatre doesn’t explain the half of it. I am losing confidence that my bomb-throwing VOTE for Trump is going to make a dent in the Swamp.
… and no, Gord … none of the GOPes would have done a quarter of what Trump always has done to clean the Swamp
I have no doubt that Alabama “Law Enforcement” and its “Legal” system, as well as Federal “Law Enforcement” and its “Legal” system, will investigate, charge, arrest, prosecute, convict, and punish appropriately anyone who violated laws during that election. Don’t you agree?
When there is no Rule of Law, it works BOTH ways. “Law Enforcement” and the “Legal” system at all levels – and their families – had better understand this, because they are about to enjoy the fruits of their labors.
Ahhhhh … but when Social Media is weaponized against conservatives … then it should be FREE for all forms of … expression … deception … and be FREE of censorship.
But say something TRUTHFUL about a leftist? And you should be doxxed, banned, and shamed by every SM platform.
There are never any laws broken when doing the “morally-correct” work of Nancy Pelosi and her leftist ilk.
Coming soon, to a Canadian election near you !
Why not, it worked well for the left in the last election in defeating PMSH.
When you’re fighting for what’s “best” for the people (which ones?), it’s best to lie to them, given your higher moral stature.
The DeMarxist Code of Political Irony. Trudeau lied like a rug to the Canadian people and the only “promise” of consequence he kept was to “not buy the CF35.” That’s like promising to not build a car factory and only buggy companies can bid for new stuff.
Cynically though, the Grits continue their CF35 installments, so while they haven’t “signed a contract,” it isn’t cancelled either.
Straddling that political fence is no problem for the political theatre of the absurd types, along with extinguishing military capability while responding to their concocted credibility/commitment gap and buying tired old Aussie F18s.
But they stay in power, so everything is hunky dory.
Oil at $13/bbl. No worries, no social license there and why risk upsetting gender balances?
SCoC says Khadr had no evidence of torture/forced confession, and repatriation was up to the government, so not ordered.
No worries, repatriate him, compensate and apologize to him, thus sealing victory for his appeal for murder, for which he is on bail.
Then blame it all on the SC. Only racists would disagree, like the SC.
There’s enough net votes to win on that, so shredding our system of jurisprudence and enraging Canadians is no problem because “they’re back” into our pocketbooks and our lives.
Trudeau Sr once remarked the state had no place in the bedrooms of the nation; just every other room was a clever retort.
Now Sonny and his consigliere Butts want access to the bedrooms as well, plus the bathrooms.
They.must.go.or.we.are.doomed.as.a.nation state.
Sooo…is this not actually a form of defamation (as is any sort of targeted negative propaganda)? Kinda like creating an electronic Potemkin village. The only question is was it enough to cost Roy the election? Still with the constitutional expectation of fair free elections such actions tilt to the unfair side and therefore should be suable. That would go a ways to stopping such subversive shenanigans.
lying is good right, right?
There is no ‘spygate’. There was nothing wrong with the FBI’s surveillance of its targets. It’s not their fault that Trump associates with scum. Like likes like.
