  6. Well… I don’t have a stake in this race, though I’ve yet to hear of the gay people blowing up others they do not like.

    So, it’ll be interesting to see the Canadian Human Rights Commission take this case and try to come to a conclusion that doesn’t alienate their gov’t base.

    1. I think the commissions in Canada are staffed nearly 100% by sharia pushing activists. So I am pretty sure I already know what the ruling will be.

      The same net effect as demanding gay wedding cake from a muslim baker.

  11. Where do these two fall on the scale of intersectionality (aka victimhood)? Cab driver, obviously of a brown skin colour, might be Muslim, lower economic scale. Passenger… might be white, can afford a cab, gay. Hmmm, I put my money on the cabbie. Diversity is our strength.

    anybody see that expose on uber? they have been causing huge problems for passengers and mgmt
    all
    over

    world
    their strategy of overwhelming traditional ‘jump thru all dem loops’ cab drivers, getting all manner of municipal pollllitiSHUNS on board, and voila!! no criminal checks !!! no driving history checks !!! no basic command of english reqd !!!
    etc up the wazoo.
    and yes, that EXACT process happened in my town.
    I have never and will never ride uber.

  16. There was a case a few years past of a gay woman (Edit: “a person”) that went to a muslim barber shop (Edit: “a barber shop owned or employing a man of islamic faith”) and was refused a haircut that would appear to be similar to the style of haircuts men used to routinely get… “whew”
    I may be dating myself but this would be a man’s haircut like what they were like, back in the “only 2 sexes days”. So before Pierre Trudeau’s days.
    I understand this case (from memory of print news coverage that followed…) was settled out of court. When I say “court”, I mean out of the commissar’s meddling ways.

    I think this is quite a bit different from being forced to bake a cake. It’s a matter of public safety as well. Would the taxi driver have done the same if 2 women started necking in the back seat, like they were necking in the front row of the comedian Guy Earle when he heckled back at them, and that led him to be fined $15k … note that this was upheld by the Supreme Court of BC.

    Perhaps a blog will hold a contest as to who will the “winner” of this be, and what is the fine, who pays the tribunal costs… It’s by no means settled yet. It’s not over until the fat lady on the SCOC sings.

  18. I put my money on the deeper-melanin-content, foreign-accented, Muslim taxi driver. Since the precedent (for what that’s worth in these kangaroo-court human “rights” commissions) allows a Muslim taxi driver to deny a ride to a blind man standing in the rain because he has a guide dog, Muslim trumps gay on the perpetual victimhood hierarchy. Probably the court will rule against the owners of the cab company for failing to provide a transgendered, Asian, Taoist to respond to the call in the first place and demand restitution be paid to both parties by the nearest Baptist church.

        P.s. if I was a cab driver and a guy got into my cab and immediately informed me he was gay,I’d ask him why the hell I should care about HIS sexual preferences, and frankly, I’d be creeped out. I think most people would be.

      once in a while when the opp presents itself, ie out for a walk with the canine in the presence of the esteemed sinless muzzie clan, moi will in an exaggerated fashion plant a ‘big wet one’ right on the mouth of said canine.

      also, any time moi and the canine are headed out in a cab, first, FIRST thing I tell the dispatcher, DONT SEND A MUZZIE, I GOT A DOG WITH ME. ya ya I know, not all of them apply the ‘dogs unclean’ rule. SO WHAT. the snide comments and disdainful looks only had to happen a couple times. anything else WILL result in a highly detailed official complaint with the municipal licensing authorities, not that there are any guarantees with that ‘route’ (pun intended).

      the whole thing is a gold mine of entertainment.

  26. I foresee a whole new industry emerging from this.

    One could have umbrage brokers who, for a fee, will arrange for their clients to become a member of whichever oppressed group receives the most money for being offended. Those clients could become professional victims by switching from one group to another on a regular basis just like one can trade shares. Such memberships could be bought and sold on an umbrage exchange.

    All that would mean that this will all be subject to government regulation to ensure that those oppressed groups are not only suitably offended and that there are standards for memberships in such groups. That would be a suitable ministry for, say, Climate Barbie, who seems to be perpetually offended whenever her competence, let alone intelligence, is questioned.
