letter? Personally I think it could have been planted by a lefty or maybe the Times dreamed up a plot on their own. It wouldn’t be hard to do because there are no new tales being revealed by “Anonymous” so why not make up something that it really isn’t in the first place and just publish it as was done by the NY Times. It’s the type of thing the Dems excell at.

“Politics is downstream of culture” and the culture has moved left since Nixon’s time. Left-leaning in politics means more inclined to see government as the answer to everything, and thus more inclined to seek a career in government service. Over time the civil service becomes more hostile to conservative and/or libertarian ideas and more inclined to make democracy just a facade. Elect whichever party, you still end up with the government.
It has long been my belief that everyone in government employment should be entered in a lottery annually. A few names are drawn at random and those individuals are let go and prohibited from ever being employed in government again. I know it will be said that some people are irreplaceable. And I’ll answer, then how can they ever be promoted? Or even allowed to go on vacations? They eventually retire or they die in service, they must be replaced.

It’s all about the narrative, and I’m surprised how few have picked this up. NYT writes a piece of fiction, and hopes to inflame the President. The President being forced to react to possible public treason starts demanding the name and details of the source. NYT defends their source, and the President is forced to either back down, which shows a weakness, or tramples over the freedom of the press and looks a like a tyrant. It was a win win move for the left. The fault in planning was not being able to control the other media who called them out. The mid terms are nearing and it’s going to get worse. Look for more of the same sort of antics.
