Wonder if Justin Turdeau will resign. He (or is it zhe?) is a great example of “white privilege”.
There’s a name for that: extortion. I saw that while I was teaching. Many of my students would fake being disadvantaged or victimized in order to weasel marks that they didn’t otherwise deserve or extra exam time when they clearly hadn’t learned the material.
Regrettably, my superiors almost always went along with that. In addition, calling those students on their BS excuses often created headaches for me as they, along with those administrators who supported those actions, played lawyer.
It was usually quicker and easier for me to give the twerps what they wanted. I suspect that the same applies to what’s going on in post-secondary institutions nowadays.
The best term I’ve heard for these types of passive/aggressive a-holes is CRYBULLIES.
I’ve always wondered what the snowflake response would be to a hearty “F— OFF!!!” from the podium, and getting ejected from the venue by the football team. After the first three times that happened, would they learn manners?
Ladies and gentlemen, for those “victims”, it’s just another method of their gaining and keeping power, wealth, control, position, and influence off the backs of other people.

In brief, starting this fall, all faculty applicants to UCLA must document their contributions to “equity, diversity, and inclusion.”
That is, ALL faculty applicants, even if applying for a STEM position.
For various reasons, the primary and secondary schools I attended have fallen from grace, from prestigious schools having competitive enrollment and high standards, to the usual malaise of a public (in the U.S. sense) school. With this policy, and with already non-competitive salaries in STEM fields, I fear that UCLA is headed towards the same fate.
I noticed that sort of waffle when I was looking for another post-secondary position after quitting the one I had for several years. It was bad enough when I saw ads that essentially said “White heterosexual men need not apply”. Now it’s come to this.
Many people give me strange looks when I tell them that I’m not a professor after they find out that I have a Ph. D. Considering the nonsense that one has to contend with, I’m glad I never became one.
This is simply another manifestation of these schools “affirmative action” student admissions policies. Since affirmative action is no longer a Federal mandate … these institutions of lower living have done an end run around State prohibitions against arbitrary racial quotas. Done so by inventing targeted arbitrary “standards” for applicants. Completely subjective “standards”. It is so blatantly discriminatory against Asians, high-scoring applicants, … and … conservative faculty as to be laughable. I doubt these neo-firmative-actions would stand up in Court. In fact, the Asian kid currently challenging Harvard’s neo-firmative-action admissions discrimination has already won Justice Dept. support.
