President Donald Trump accused Twitter on Thursday of “discriminatory and illegal practice,” vowing in a tweet to “look into” the matter.

Investors, already unnerved by Facebook’s plunge, shed Twitter shares. The stock was down 4.3 percent in early trading Thursday, including a 1 percent additional decline immediately after Trump’s comments.

Good.

    1. And while they are at it, someone needs to go after Reddit. I am now banned from four political discussion groups– and I am not rude and have not violated any of their rules. I think the original ban was an attempt to suppress conservative posts. Now it happens so quickly after I post one or two (innocuous) comments on some new group that I think it is being done by computer (or a combined computer and mods). They also do not bother to answer my queries about why I have been banned. Since conservative voices are seldom seen on Reddit, I think the banning must be targeting conservatives.

      1. You seem too affable to be banned from anything. However, my casual observation of Reddit (not much of a consumer of the platform, although my son is …) is that it is a stew of sub-Reddits that are carefully controlled by gatekeepers. I suspect you are simply running into platforms RUN by people like UN-ME … an intolerant leftist who recoils when confronted by TRUTH. Like the TRUTH of how GOOD President Trump has been for America.

      2. Well join the club Linda. I am SUSPENDED from Twitter. 3 weeks now for asking a person why they were obsessed with the issue of ” trans”, questioned their apparent hatred of Christianity & asked if they had been abused by a Catholic Priest….?? That was the essence the “OFFENDING” tweet that was posted near 7 weeks prior to my suspension. As such I fully believe that someone, Gerald Butts comes to mind, was purposely looking for something to use against me….and admittedly, I was never “easy” on that TREASONOUS (_i_)hole…ever nor his pedophile-terrorist loving buddy, Justin. And I dont think I am the only one in this situation….many of my 980 followers complaining of losing followers and being shadow banned for weeks at a time for literally nadda.

I’ve also recently found that i am totally banned from Disqus as well..so no posting on Briebart, Gateway Pundit etc or any other site that uses them as comment host..have made several queries to no avail. Only place not so affected (YET)are those that use FB.

Phuque em….ALL. Communist Censorship is what it is….
About the only bright lights I see is THIS Blog…(Thank you Kate..!!!), & the Donald…I cannot imagine what kind of a world we would be living in had HRC won the election.

I Fully believe there would have been internment camps set up for conservatives for the purpose of RE-Education.
NAZI Bastards the lot of them

        1. Outrageous. One of the editors at Front Page Mag has written a book called “The Marketing of Evil”. That is what we are dealing with here. Too many people may not realize it until it is too late — it is almost too late now!

        2. And I’ll repeat that I was/remain BANNED from the Daily Mail … for questioning why a story about a lesbian soccer star’s kiss of her wife … was more newsworthy than the remainder of the teams heterosexual players kissing their husbands/boyfriends. Nothing rude, crude, or lewd. I didn’t even ask if they would be scissoring-their-timbers later that night. Because I am just too affable for such meanness.

1984 arrived just a few years ago … and yet the News outlets and social media platforms still don’t ‘get it’ … that THEY’RE the DANGER to our Democracy. They honestly ‘believe’ that their FASCIST Marxism … is ‘Democracy’.

      3. Huff post was my censor. Censored a couple of times for a week or so. Your posts just disappear without warning. Guaranteed triggers
        – ‘antifa – antifascists too stupid to know that they are the fascists’ where you point out the similarities in the beliefs of the antifa and Mussolini’s blackshirts
        – and ‘I don’t appreciate being lectured on climate science by english majors’ where you look at the qualifications of the major climate alarmists, this one seems to irritate their overqualified reviewers.

  1. I smell a rat here, makes no sense that google’s ad revenue is up 24% and Facebook missed earnings as badly as they did.

    1. Says more about what is happening in social media versus the Internet in general IMO.

    2. Facebook’s dive was based on their specific numbers. They projected a certain number…they fell short…by a lot. Add to that the departure of quite a few members for various reasons, and you don’t necessarily project consumer confidence for the investors. They are losing quite a few “gamers” to Discord as well.

Personally, I think it was inevitable. They are a big general mass of social media. Now, the start-ups are taking hold and going after select blocs of their membership and providing specialized features. Discord is a great example. It caters to voice/chat overlays in specific video games as well as providing many of the same features Facebook does. Then there is the whole selling of “private” information thing.

    Yesterday – Facebook.
    Today – Twitter.
    Tomorrow – Google.

    _______________________________

GOOGLE is already in trouble. The EU has decided to make them a cash cow. In two years, they have fined them over $6.7 Billion Euros. Add to that …September begins the FTC hearings which have the ultimate goal of breaking up the conglomerates (Alphabet, Inc. / Google is a prime example of one of the targets). Also, Eric Schmidt stepped down not too long ago. The media played this off as no big deal…just a surprise. But, he was the “adult in the room” for the company. He was instrumental in securing contracts (such as the $10 Billion Pentagon contract, which I’m betting won’t be renewed once it plays out). He was, also, a rabid ( and I do mean rabid) Hillary Clinton supporter. The James Damore lawsuit against GOOGLE isn’t going to help their public image, and as we are seeing with Facebook and Twitter…public image and optics are about 50% of the ballgame. Users are particular and moody. Add to that another class action suit of pay discrimination against women which just got new legs when they revised the Summons and Complaint to focus on those supposedly effected.

    1. Just to add an addendum:

The “equal pay” lawsuit and Damore’s discrimination lawsuit will create a Catch 22 situation. In order to defend one, they will have to compromise the defense on the other. My guess is the plaintiffs on both are going to string it out in discovery and continuations for as long as they can, because whoever goes first is not going to possess the ammunition they can get from the defense of the other. But, it will be there on any appeal that might materialize. Damore’s memo provided a very scientific and thoughtful position on the very issue of ‘equal pay.’ They fired him for his reasoning despite the fact that he provided valid references. GOOGLE will have to employ those very same positions to defend against the class action equal pay suit. See what I mean?

  3. jeez Linda; I cannot imagine your style of posting being banned.
thanks for saving me the trouble of signing on that ‘preaching to the converted’ site.

this tactic is straight out of the fascist leftoid playbook.

  4. I imagine that a few investors out there will be making money by shorting these stocks.

  5. Received my first warning from Failbook yesterday, for posting a link to a direct quote from the koran, to the National Post’s Failbook article on the Toronto terrorist attack…
… they said it was hate speech, for which I have no rebuttal.

You can imagine how hurt I am.

    1. Heh, the Rules for Radicals solution would be to get as much publicity as possible with the spin “Facebook declares Koran to be hate speech”, publicly wringing your hands about how they’re Islamophobic for preventing passages from the Koran from being published.

Then enjoy the shadenfraude as they bend over backwards to prove how much they – if you’ll permit me to paraphrase – “Love Islam and muslims and the religion of peace and Mohammad and please don’t behead us because we know how peaceful and peace-loving you are and ohgodpleaseputthemachetedown”.

On a slightly more serious note, I can’t be the only one who’s sick of the leftist western world’s battered wife syndrome relationship with Islam.

“Yes, they raped, tortured, and murdered us, but it’s not their fault – we made them do it!”

  6. Thought experiment for Leftists: If the telephone carriers had a way to monitor your phone conversations and block certain conversations or you altogether, dependent on what you’re saying, would you be comfortable with that? Assuming not, then why are you completely fine with Twitter and Facebook and Google censoring you on their sites?

    1. This is a completely bogus analogy. Facebook/Google/Twitter/etc. are not “the Internet”. They do not have a monopoly, and they cannot prevent you from discussing whatever you want with whomever you want on the Internet.

      1. Portions of the internet not accessed or connected to Twit-face Goo are known as the dark web. The busiest and most cross-connected portions of the internet are tied into Twit-face Goo. Avoiding these three is like avoiding paved roads – it likely will be possible to get to where you want to go, but it will take a long longer and be more difficult to access.

Twit-face Goo does not have a textbook monopoly, but they have more of a monopoly over the readily available content of the internet than Imperial Oil had of the oil market, or indeed than the telephone company did at it’s strongest (there was still the mail service, radio, short-wave, driving across country, and yelling to get your message across so you could still communicate without the telephone).

No analogies are perfect simply because they are analogies. The telephone company as a service provider is the best analogy I know of for Twit-face Goo. If you don’t want us to use it, please provide a better analogy. And I’m sure you realize that pulling a grade-2 “nyah nyah nyah you’re wrong” won’t cut it.

    1. Yes, there it is! Donald Trump is ruining the economy by calling out the purveyors of fake news; flushing their shares down the crapper.
