  1. Every tide gauge in Florida shows almost exactly the same thing…
…less than 1 inch a decade…and has not changed in over 100 years

  2. This would be perfectly natural. The earth has been much warmer (witness fossil beavers and fossil trees dated to 2 million years ago, which have been found on Ellesmere Island at latitude 78 deg north. Sea levels have also been much higher, so NYC will naturally be flooded.

Also when the ice age eventually returns New York City will no longer be on the ocean:
The last advance reached maximum 22,000 years ago, extending from southeastern Alberta across what are now the Great Lakes to the east coast. Two lobes surged down the Connecticut and Hudson river valleys, sculpting the land and depositing the moraines and outwash that would become Long Island. Sea water was locked up in ice, lowering the sea level by 350 feet compared to today; from Cape Cod southward, the coastal plain jutted out 50 to 100 miles further than the present-day shoreline, almost to the edge of the continental shelf. The Hudson River sluiced through a deep gorge that cut through the plain and emptied into the Atlantic. Glaciers literally created Long Island, and carved out the landscape we know today as the New York City region

  3. so where did all the water come from?
    oh, right, glaciers.
where was the water before it went into the glaciers?
oh, right, in the immense oceans of water covering 4/5ths of the planet.
etc. see where this is leading?
aka gloBULL warming. aka only in certain places. ask the newfies about how warm it is.

  4. What is the sea rising? A meter every thousand years? One would have to move pretty slow to drown.

    1. Actually, I understand it was the draining of Lake Aggasiz (which covered most of Manitoba and probably other parts of the prairies) following the collapse of a seriously high glacial dam which sent all of the waters through Hudson’s Bay out into the Atlantic and – ultimately, around the world. Current geography has essentially been determined by this event, which seriously raised ocean levels worldwide.

Given there are “flood” legends from many cultures, it is evident something fairly catastrophic happened.

Also, given the cost of ocean-side property in most of North America, your wish may be granted. Except there’s not enough land ice to do the job, unless Greenland suddenly sheds its glaciers.

      1. interesting point. there was another one of these in the NW USA eons ago. evidence included holes randomly gouged out of the bedrock until someone clued in it was exactly the same thing seen when deep water pounds against the bottom, as in an enormous sudden flood.
there is definitive proof of the same thing happening in the Niagara River, where the rapids are. the water flow ate thru the limestone and hit an area of sort dirt and WHOOOOSH in a matter of hours.
migawd, to see something like that unfold.

  5. On a dating site a lovely lady told me she wants to visit Alaska soon…why? because she has to visit before the glaciers are all melted away.

She is 60, so for her to believe it is an emergency it means her media ( don t know if it is CNN or CBC or another of the fake ones ) told her the fantastic lie that there is maybe 15 years left, tops.

Actually it will take between 3000 and 15000 years to melt all glaciers, this was in all scientific books printed before the left invented the biggest scam in the history of human kind ; the global warming scare/scam

not 15, not 20 years but 3000 to 15000 years, she has plenty of time to visit Alaska

It should be illegal for politicians and the media to tell such lies to the populace.

  6. https://www.thestar.com/news/world/2018/06/13/antarctic-ice-loss-has-tripled-in-a-decade-if-that-continues-we-are-in-serious-trouble.html

According to canada’s most trusted newspaper, the antarctic is losing 180 billion tons of ice every year and it will cause the seas to rise ONE HALF MILLIMETER per year.

We’re doomed. Run up the credit cards, buy that expensive bottle of Scotch, run off with your neighbor’s 18 year old daughter, it’s all over.

As the scientists say, “we could be in serious trouble”, so what the hell.

    1. Is that land ice or sea ice? If sea ice, will make no difference to sea level. Land ice – could go Biblical.

  7. If only that picture was true! Just think how much better off the world would be…

    1. I have a vision of Chuck Schumer and Bill de Blasio both confused and swimming out to sea never to be seen again.

      1. Maybe Schumer thinks climate change denial is, as they say in Texas apparently, “all cattle and no hat.”

But wouldn’t that would mean Trump and the evil deniers are right? Leave it to Dems to bastardize a saying, reverse its content and meaning, and then claim they were talking about the correct version.

OTOH, where there’s fire there’s smoke, everybody knows that eh? Plus fire doesn’t melt steel.

  8. The imaginary hobgoblins, of course, are intended as a distraction from the real problems created by our betters, either by their incompetence or because they directly profit from them.

The three major threats to western civilization are:

    1. China’s efforts to remove the west as a meaningful rival to its domination of the planet, economically and militarily.

    2. Islam—this is obvious.

    3. Uncontrolled breeding, and migration to the west, of people incapable of contributing anything to industrial civilization but poverty and unrest.

    1. to be honest, I kinda don’t blame the Chirese for their moves in this direction.
some sort of karma thing following the grinding exploitation end of the 19th century, opium wars and all that, allies divvying up ‘sheres of influence’. seriously, WWWWTTTTFFFFF??????? carve up a foreign country like a bunch of hyenas stealing a kill on the serengeti?
britannia, fwance, deutchland, holland, the usual suspects.
no, I kinda dont blame them.

  9. The natural rate of climate change includes sea level change of over 25 metres per century. Can we please stop the demonisation of the life-bringing molecule CO2 and concentrate on something important?

  10. Often when debating climate change alarmists, I will ask them the following question……”If the IPCC believed so strongly in their own hubris on climate change and rising sea levels, why did the UN spend billions of dollars to renovate their headquarters in Manhattan when it is only a 100 feet or so away from the bank of the East River and a few feet above sea level? Wouldn’t they have abandoned it and headed to higher ground?” They never answer the question.

  11. The oceans will begin receding soon (100 to 3000 years from now…give or take) and the UN will be trying to steal every last tax dollar to fight the onslaught of glaciers. (Err, I mean man made climate change)

  12. “…as they say in Texas apparently, ‘all cattle and no hat.’ ”

    It’s the other way around:

A bullsh#t artist is ” all hat and no cattle”.

  13. Driving the length of the Florida Keys, I stopped on one key and soaked my feet in the water… I noticed a worn mark about 3 feet above water level from a prior sea level… cut into the coral that makes the keys…

Not only were they entirely under water in the past, to create them, but later the ocean cut terraces into what is now above sea level.

    https://fcit.usf.edu/florida/lessons/land/land.htm

Throughout most of its history, Florida has been under water. Portions of the Florida peninsula have been above or below sea level at least four times. As glaciers of ice in the north expanded and melted, the Florida peninsula emerged and submerged.

When the sea level was lowest, the land area of Florida was much larger than it is now. The sea level was as much as 100 feet lower than at present. Floridas west coastline was probably 100 miles further out. As the climate warmed, the glaciers melted. This raised the sea level and flooded the Florida peninsula. The sea level stood at least 100 to 150 feet above the present level. Florida probably consisted of islands.

The formation of the Florida Keys occurred when tiny coral created a 150-mile long chain of underwater coral reefs. As the landmass of southern Florida began its slow rise, the reefs also began to emerge.

The Florida peninsula is the emergent portion of the Florida Platform. This is a wide, relatively flat land formation. The Florida Platform lies between the deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean. Florida’s landscape varies widely. Many of Floridas prominent features have resulted from karst, a landscape with a base layer of limestone. Because limestone is porous, freshwater gradually dissolves the rock and forms cracks and passages.

I think my car was not causal then. Or now.
