Anyone who thinks things will be better under the PCs has not been paying attention. Patrick Brown did not become PC Party leader by accident. Now that he’s been taken out, the next guy will be more of the same.
I’m going to vote PC anyway. But I do not hold out any hope that the Ontario economy will improve if they win. The deep corruption in this province won’t be rooted out with an election.
I want to see a draft Doug Ford movement in the PC leadership race. He can carry the Toronto suburbs and pleanty of support from Ontario’s rural and smaller communities. Doug could be Ontario’s Trump. Ontario needs an outsider. I suddenly do not trust any of the named leadership candidates.

Ontario is doomed. Getting out from under the capricious boot of Ontario and Quebec by leaving Canada, could possibly mean that a province could save itself. No guarantees, but Canada is surely doomed, and anyone who decides to stay on the Titanic is, well, you get the idea.

The fact that someone as morally reprehensible as Wynne was able to become premier of Canada’s largest province AND win re-election, shows the depths to which “Canadian values” have sunk.

I think the thing to take home here is that Doug Ford may be a good guy, and he may even be the guy we all want. But the truth is that one guy is not going to get this done.
Remember how Rob Ford was going to save Toronto, and then couldn’t? Not because he didn’t try, and not because he wasn’t right, but because the whole machinery of city government defied him.
The truth is there are two classes in Ontario now. There is the Toronto Elite, what I like to call the Granite Club set, and then there is the Rest Of Us.
They do not share our beliefs, values or morals. They run the machinery of government, not the Parliament.
There is no man on a white horse going to save us. We are stuck doing it. That was always true anyway, as men on white horses are historically unreliable, but twice as much now.
There is a way, of course. Tax cuts and time will do it. Convince your neighbors first. That’s how this works.

Because of it’s untouchable status from rogue states due to our proximity to the USA, this let Canada drift towards socialism so Canadians are immensely spoiled.(Canada needs no Defense spending)
The decline is inevitable. Watch for Canada going into massive debt and become slave, like Greece and others to the IMF.
The best scenario for the future will be annexation to the US.

Have spoken to Doug Ford. Very sharp and just a nice person who really knows what is needed without the baggage of his brother. Mike Harris was the best premier for Ontario in my lifetime but IMHO the only reason he got elected was that Rae pissed off the left with his budget cuts and Rae Days so they either didn’t vote or following their unions advise they voted for Harris. He is hated, hated by the left to this day. Wish Doug well.
Can we be honest here. Every party has been willing and able to borrow & spend as much as their little pea sized brains desired. Why do you think the public doen’t believe there’s no money for every other hare-brained scheme when there’s plenty of money for every other hare-brained scheme (Khadr, Aga Khan, Clinton Foundation etc, etc, etc, etc. Billions are available for FNs, gender causes, importing terrorists etc.
Now you want cut funding and reduce taxes! Why? it’s always been possible. So the public thinks miserable conservatives want to deprive them of their entitlements.
You cannot walk this one back so easily. We must wait for the inevitable crash before the public will be convinced that there is no free lunch.
