  1. A ray of sunshine in this interesting video – alumni at Wilfrid Laurier are organizing to withhold donations unless the school gets its act together.
Apparently they will go public soon.

  2. Last night I watched the entire thing straight. Every minute.
This is a huge win for Jordan Peterson and free speech late into 2017!

  3. Rush Limbaugh is on Christmas vacation. So thank you for this Robert
Within the first minute, having mentioned and perhaps thrown down the glove… “we support maximum freedom of expression”
This easily reels me in, we’re off to a great start here…

  4. I expect that will be a symbolic gesture at best. Most Canadian universities don’t live and die by their alumni donations; that money usually goes towards amenities and cosmetic improvements. They’ll still keep getting public subsidy and undergrad tuition funds.
What might have an impact is undergrads staying away in droves a la Mizzou, but WLU is one of Canada’s Last Chance U’s so that seems unlikely.

  5. That is good news. Hurt the Marxists in the pocket book. Starve the snake.
I have just started watching it and so far it is a huuuge like for freedom. But no doubt the Komsomol Red Guard will fight free speech with every evil bone in their bodies.

  6. Want to save some time watching this?
Click on ‘Settings’ (little gear icon at bottom) then on ‘Speed’ then scroll down and select 1.5 or 2.0
Speeds up playback, but still quite understandable. And you can always go back for a review if you feel you have missed something.

  7. Canada is over run with last chance universities.
Who are our Ivy League equivalents, and why are they not being heard from?
    Rhetorical.

  8. That was a fantastic two hours. Worth every minute. It was interesting to hear them say that the appointment of Administrator )Kommissar) Adria Joel was a Ontario provincial government mandatory appointment. Does every province now mandate that this what is in effect a Kommissar of thought and speech be appointed? If so, we are well on the path the Soviets trod.

  9. The administrator was simply there as an enforcer and to make sure that WLU comes out of the meeting looking good.
This kind of rubbish is quite common throughout the post-secondary system.

  10. My opinion of Mr. Peterson is lessened by this video, namely in the fact he cannot speak without swearing. Especially dealing with free speech you don’t lessen the fact there is over 20,000 words in the English language but one has to swear to emphasize a point.

  11. This issue has serious implications for every Canadian, financial implications and for the quality of life.
Huge amounts of monies given Canadian universities is justified. If it transmits the foundational knowledge and values, from which economic growth(wealth/GNP) and our quality of life depend.
The intellectual rot (of cultural Marxism/post-modernism) has reduced economic growth rates to a fraction of what they should be. Now this will accelerate as the Trump administrations tax cuts attract investment away from Canada.
The actual issue Prof. Peterson and the two Wilfred Laurier Profs are tackling is the that of thought police being employed at universities.
This has been followed by provincial and federal government legislation making thought police nation wide.
It will gradually expand to affect all aspects of public and publicly regulated private life!
The Marxists are like religious zealots. Their views mimic the religious police of Saudi Arabia, the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Islamic State.
Remember, all totalitarian ideologies share the same motivation, an insatiable lust for power.
20th Century Soviet Socialism(U.S.S.R.Marxist Leninism,National Socialism(Nazism)and Mao’s China proved no more deadly sin exists. Though 1400 years of Islamic jihad do rival it, hence their axis.
The battle, the good Professors are fighting, is against the thought police. Who are, in effect, a religious police running rampant in higher education.
This has been the resurrection of that aspect of the U.S.S.R. and Mao’s China?
This rot has begun to affect Medicine and Science with Business, Engineering, and Math education soon to follow.
Equity enforcement means no longer will the best minds run Medicine, Business, Science, Engineering and even Math (loved the Orwell quote about freedom being able to say 2+2=4).
Bureaucrats, in all levels of government, are now indoctrinated into this.
No aspect of your public and private life will ever return to normal, unless and until this rot in the university is defeated.
N.B.(This ideological chaos has already infected the legal profession including the judiciary. This is why organized crime, drug and youth gangs now run, for the first time in history, so much of Canada, both urban and rural.)

  12. Speaking of redefining words, he who controls the language controls the culture.
Remember what the original definition of “gay” was before homosexuals got hold of it.

  13. I thought the deconstruction of the Chancellors update on the investigation of the affair was fair and accurate. I hope that the spot light will continue to illuminate this affair and more is communicated about the actual investigation findings and recommendations, what the university actually does to prevent a re-occurrence, how they take the opportunity presented to provide an example to others, what disciplinary action is taken to the organisers of the meeting and hopefully that Lindsay Shepard gets an outcome that is satisfactory to her.
