Family of Miss Iraq flee country after photo posted with Miss Israel
The family of Iraq’s contestant in the Miss Universe Pageant have left the country due to threats to their lives over her modeling in a bikini and posting on social media photos taken with Miss Israel.
Miss Iraq, Sarah Idan, lives in the United States and the rest of her family has now fled the country, Miss Israel, Adar Gandelsman, told Hadashot news. Gandelsman said she has been in touch with Idan since the pageant and that the two women have a special relationship.

I was actually expecting a similar reaction by her / or her family. I hope someone is able to point out that it isn’t the Israelis or their newly recognised capital of Jerusalem that has done this, it is those that were left in charge of Iraq, and the basic tenets of their so called religion…

There is a VERY important fact missing. The family is fleeing from WHAT COUNTRY???? They could have gotten death threats in Iran, Israel or the U.S.
“I want to stress that the purpose of the picture was only to express hope and desire for peace between the two countries,” she wrote in the post. She said the photo does not signal support for the Israeli government and apologized if the photo was harmful to the Palestinian cause. – Doing that would no doubt elevate the threat to Fatwa status. … or France, England, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Sweden … Canada … yep, there are LOTS of countries where a Muslim woman fraternizing with with an Israeli can get her kilt deadt … along with her whole extended family and friends.

Yes, of course duke is being ridiculous. I doubt very much he seriously thinks “the country” is anywhere else but Iraq.
But just to quibble, unfortunately perhaps in the not too distant future, you could no longer ironically say what you said about France, England, Germany, Sweden, and perhaps even Canada. It might be the truth then.
