    Does express much of what many normal people think.
    The mass hysteria created by mass media is something to behold.
    Apparently it is generated in the “news” rooms of the media political complex.
    These characters talking to themselves back and forth is like, if you can imagine laser being generated, into a frenzy.
    This must be primeval instinct from the cave dwellers when they could not get out of the cave. These people went to school for a long time learning nothing but empty rhetoric. Now they are applying the nonsense to their “reportage” that has little to do with reality and a lot with fiction.
    This is not shocking anymore since over past few years, the plebeians got so used to bullshit that they recognize it as reality.
    Freedom seem to be on the losing side of history, wonder what the future generations will classify this madness as.

  10. Posted elsewhere where it was probably going to get lost, so I am reposting here. Many people will likely agree with the overall observation that the CBC is dumbing down Canadians.
    Last night the 5th Estate had a program on Muslim immigrants. I tuned in because I thought I would learn something. What a huge disappointment. It featured well known stories, like the Mosque killing in Quebec (with the usual trite explanations — he was a loner, bullied, blah, blah). Next it was vilifying Trump for his TEMPORARY ban on Muslims. The lawyers countering the ban were heros, plus several interviews with Muslim “saints” who had to temporarily forego their mother visiting. Finally, the happy Syrian stories with shout outs on how wonderful Canada is for taking in the refugees. I don’t have a problem with the Syrians or most Muslims, but this program was such apparent propaganda,it was very off-putting. They made no attempt to analyze why many people have concerns or the difficulties refugees have finding work. I learned absolutely nothing and felt insulted by the adolescent effort to manipulate the audience. I know — it’s the CBC. I should have known better.

    Depraved…The leftist bought-and-paid-for media are destroying the concept of the Will of The People by having undermined this presidency right out of the gate. If they succeed, this will spell the death of the Republic and has a good chance of inciting increasing disregard for the rule of law and the promotion of Civil War. It is not as though Trump has been challenged on one or two points of his policy, he was condemned for anything he did, no matter how credible or rational.
    Trump may not be presidential material but he is the president. The media had an opportunity to discredit him before he was elected but their bias for a continuing Obama style socialism, personified by that evil woman, has created this fiasco. They should live with it until the next election.
    The media will be largely responsible for destroying the country. The scariest thing is…what will replace it?

  14. We should start a list of stupid things about the eclipse. So far this morning I have read that I should not go outside because the eclipse will affect my aura. Also I should keep pets inside. I guess cats and dogs aren’t smart enough to take precautions before looking at the sun. Not sure what horses, cows and sheep will do.

  20. I set up my telescope just outside the entrance to my apartment building and put a solar filter over the end. I also had a #14 welder glass with me for looking directly at the sun.
    The apartment manager happened to be walking by just as I was trying to align the telescope. She scolded me for doing that as looking at the sun would damage my eyes. (Only if I don’t use proper precautions.) She wasn’t convinced when I told her that I was an occasional amateur astronomer and that I also have regular eye exams as, at my age, I wear glasses.
    On the other hand, there were a lot of people who passed by and who were better informed about such things. I invited them over to take a look and those who accepted my offer were happy for having done so.

    I don’t think I will bother to suffer through it again. Their programming is simple-minded and predictable. Same goes for their news reports, and of course their political reporting is completely unbalanced. CBC TV gets very little audience share (6 or 7 percent in peak time if I remember correctly.) People should be aware of this when they are looking at funding for the CBC. Now I know there are some die hard loyalists, but I think they are mostly aging radio listeners. Radio is easy to maintain for minimal cost. It’s TV production that is expensive and that is where they are not reaching Canadians. CBC is loosing its impact and should have reduced funding accordingly.
