  1. – Or in the words of SJW’s everywhere: “Yes, Yes!, YESSS!!!!!! – only, Not In My Back Yard.”
    Shocked, I tell ya -_-

  2. They should give their homeless a one way bus ticket to Hollywood. Lot’s of homes with spare bedrooms, cooks to prepare nutritious meals, spare baths, and the owners big advocates for the homeless.

  3. Free services to homeless drifters attracts homeless persons like manure attracts flies.

  4. Was anyone else itching to see where Assemblywoman Nora Campo’s house was located in the midst of this? When she gave the city’s citizens a scolding about their aversions, my curiosity piqued even more.

  5. It’s not a tiny house. Its a shack, on a trailer.
They’re not “homeless.” They are untreated schizophrenics and/or drug addicts.
It would be safer to have a wild bear living in the front yard.

  6. I’m not sure what the backlash is all about. Tiny homes are a staple in every 3rd world city and a good way of up-cycling scrap sheet metal, cardboard boxes and old ratty tarps. You can even witness how they are organized in nice neat rows all snugged up like to the fence lines of the more fortunate.

  7. Some idiot councillor referred to them as “our homeless residents”. No, dummy, if they don’t have a home and pay taxes, they are not residents, just parasites.

  8. Seeing all the unused RVs in storage lots everywhere, I’ve often thought that every church, synagogue, mosque, etc. should be required to park at least one RV in their parking lots (say 1 RV per 100 congregants/members) for a homeless person/family to live in. Utilities and services would be the responsibility of the church, synagogue, mosque, etc. There would be an incentive for congregants/members to assist and support the (hopefully) temporary residents. It used to be that religious properties were exempt from property taxes, and assuming this is still the case, then requiring them to provide housing such as this is the least they could do if they want to keep that tax-free status.

  9. Those things are for millennials and hipsters. Homeless people prefer public areas where there are reporters and cameras to record the ramblings of mentally quirky people off their Meds.

  10. F#ck the “homeless”!!
The vast majority are out for a free ride and will take advantage of every freebie that naive idiots give them. These people aren’t looking to improve their lives, they are ALREADY living their lifestyle of choice. Real people in need find help and work to regain their financial independence. Not these lazy lowlifes.
I have a close friend who manages a building chalk full of losers living off the taxpayer. They generally live in filth and will assuredly damage any housing given them. They have respect for nothing because they have lost any concept of EARNING something.
Their priorities when they get up in the morning are simple, but not anywhere near the same as you and me. Cigarettes, booze, meth and/or weed are their MAIN concerns when they face the morning. Food banks, soup kitchens, NGO’s and governments supply the basics and are ALL manipulated to facilitate the buying of these commodities. There are also a fleet of government vehicles, employees and cheques that ensure they NEVER have to have any responsibility for themselves.
You should see the place on Welfare Wednesdays, a non-stop parade of pizza deliveries and CAB RIDES to the liquor store only 4 blocks away. These people are partying 24/7 on the backs of hardworking taxpayers and laughing at you for it.
    F#ck the “homeless”!!

  11. “Seeing all the unused RVs in storage lots everywhere….”
I had a somewhat similar thought. There are probably 1000s of used travel trailers for sale in the U.S. and Canada. Most are in good shape. Most can be had on the cheap….some free if there was a tax write off incentive. Most are as good or better than these “tiny houses”. All are much better than living in a cardboard box under the highway overpass.
This whole California brouhaha is just more posturing about social justice and virtue signaling….. and building tiny houses.
I just checked my compassion gauge and I’m completely out.

  12. When the median Silicon Valley “starter home” … for people who have jobs and don’t walk the streets talking to themselves … is well over $ 1 million dollars … you won’t find many neighborhoods willing to welcome the government to park a homeless trailer out front. No, not even in the urber-liberal Silicon Valley, where tech-Titans are known for buying-out their neighbors multi-million dollar homes … just to tear them down … and create a “buffer zone” between themselves and the other multi-millionaires next door. What’s good-enough for Zuckerberg … is good-enough for every other homeowner in Silicon Valley. They reject the POOR as vigorously as they reject the Alt. Right. And if the POOR are homeless, and probably a little mentally unstable … you will fight to the death to keep some do-gooder politician from relocating his “homeless problem” out in the street … across from your pre-teen daughters bedroom.
And the Marxist Mayor of San Jose is surprised ? He just found out that his leftist constituents aren’t quite as proooo-gresssive as he was told. His leftist constituents are only good at BLAMING “Capitalism” and “Greed” and Trump voters for the “homeless problem” … they don’t actually want to participate in a “solution”. Perhaps they have actually seen, met, and experienced the average “homeless” man or woman on the street ? Perhaps they have practiced walking to the other side of the street to avoid being accosted for “spare change” ? Perhaps they don’t REALLY believe the typical homeless person is “just like themselves” … only unlucky. Perhaps they know that the average “homeless” person is actually a dangerous, unstable, untouchable? But that doesn’t fit the narrative … so they just say “ohhhhhh mammmmma” … “NIMBY”

  13. nimby nimby nimby alive and well in san jose. homeless people have huge disproportionate mental health issues. THATS WHY THEY ARE HOMELESS. they cant get along with others, neglect their grooming, do drugs to escape. etc etc.
this ‘solution’ is treating the symptoms NOT the root problem.
cdn observer makes very astute points. acquiring drugs #1 priority, then maybe food then maybe a place to sleep. all depends on roughly what time it is.

  14. Thank you CO,that’s exactly what I have observed,too.
Even more sickening is when social justice activists start campaigning to “save our heroin addicts”,providing a bunch of worthless junkies with RN’s to oversee their shootup, and paramedics by the score to save their OD’d asses.

Change that from “church, synagogue, mosque” to “Liberal voter’s house” and I’d say its a great idea. 1 RV per Liberal voter in the house. See how quick support for the “homeless” would vanish. It would be faster than the speed of light.

  16. hey Pantom, the “thumpers” are as bad as the libtards, I know, my mother was one of those. Drag some piece of shit homeless home, and stink the place out. My brother and I were pretty good at convincing that garbage to leave chop chop. And many of these “churches” are populated with libtards.
