1. Finally, another description for FAKE NEWS, beyond using that term exclusively to describe an individual story/news report that contains erroneous information or omissions of key facts. Like many words in the dictionary, FAKE NEWS has more than one definition, like the word “extract”.
   There is no such thing as non-partisan news media. Everybody has a bias, everybody has a bent, everybody has a deal. What frustrates me is when CNN, for example, labels FOX NEWS as “conservative-leaning” but does not label itself as liberal-leaning.
   FOX NEWS is conservative, CNN is liberal. That is a fact. But when you ask a liberal, they’ll agree with half that statement, but disagreeing that CNN is liberal, or, in the context of American politics, pro-Democrat. Confirmation bias, as Andrew Klavan states in his video.
   On this subject, the IRONY IMPAIRMENT of a liberal is BREATHTAKING when, on TWITTER, under #fakenews and #mediabias among others, a liberal, while in the process of defending the MSM against having a pro-liberal/pro-Democrat bias, doesn’t seem to care that when MSM critics such as myself visit the very twitter page that he/she maintains, we find that not only are they fans of the MSM but the Democrats too, retweeting both in a naked display of support for each.
   On a 0-10 scale of irony recognition — with 0 representing BASIC irony while 10 represents more ABSTRACT forms — this would be a -1.

3. Todays’ western democracies make Caligula’s Rome look good, indeed one paid much, much less in taxes and had much, much more freedom under Caligula than we do today.

4. Creepy; I must say your comment on the Third Choice is somewhat accurate. It has in the past U.S. presidential elections.
   Recently notably when Perot skived off enough of the disgruntled “right” and arguably when “Bernie” wanters possibly stayed home.
   But there is a Real Possibility for the “Past their Best Use” Date Washington Elite Sewer Sludge; Elected & appointed Bureaucrat, if the Democrat & RINO keep up their Obstruction meme a Kick-Ass-Washington- Elite-Sewer-Sludge Political Party will become the most effective campaigners.
   It seems the practical answer as the Feckless Smearedia fades into the {avoid at all costs Sewer of Advertising} created by the Leftist initiating unforeseen circumstance. Then the K.A.W.A.S.S. political party will get the Internet P.A.C. funding in 2020.
   The sludge smearedia will sink below visibility.

6. CBC ran a piece awhile back on whether the $15/hr minimum wage was a good thing or not. The headline went something like “Study finds $15/hr is good for business”.
   The entire article was based on an interview with someone from nelp.org, a group that is fighting for the $15/hr minimum wage.
   Using such a biased group as the source of your “facts” is fake news.

8. Most news, left, right and center, are given a spin to suit the owners or directors of the media source. The CBC is at the top of the list. Controlled by Trudeau Liberals. The gossip at the Uptown Café on Main Street in Moose Jaw is most likely the only true news source that is reliable.

   You imply that those two are opposites and a “centrist” Could roll back big government. If you were referring to the Libertarians as the third party, it’s the first time I’ve ever heard them called centrist. I would argue that Trump, being neither an ideological conservative nor libertarian, is in reality a centrist (populist). He doesn’t want to address the entitlement time bombs, he wants a health care replacement that can’t be anything but at least 50% single payer. He is a protectionist. His border stance and defense postures could easily be those of JFK which shows the complete leftist slide of the Democratic Party. He will hopefully increase deregulation that he has started and has appointed some good people to key positions. He is, IMHO the ultimate “centrist”. The US leviathan state will still be intact when he leaves office.

It’s the rumor mongering, the anonymous sources, the cherry picking of facts, the weasel words, the tortured parsing, the baiting of public figures, the sky is falling and the crying wolf shtick, the melodrama, the monomania of witch hunts, the blame games, the failure to emphasize exculpatory information. In short the media is like the sneaky, underhanded, deceitful DA in a bad noir film. In fact, it has become theater for the chumps, and I think the chumps have caught on.
