All Shook Up

China and South Korea agreed on Monday to slap tougher sanctions on North Korea if it carries out nuclear or long-range missile tests, a senior official in Seoul said, as a U.S. Navy strike group headed to the region in a show of force.
North Korea marks several major anniversaries this month and often marks the occasions with major tests of military hardware.
The possibility of U.S. military action against North Korea in response to such tests gained traction following last week’s strikes against Syria. Previously, Washington has leaned toward sanctions and pressure to deter North Korea, but comments from U.S. President Donald Trump’s top aides at the weekend suggest that position may be hardening.

And who knows what he’ll do next?

  1. Everyone knew what Obama was going to do. Talk, negotiate, prevaricate, appease, and scold.

  2. Obama was scared of his own shadow, it was Valerie Jarrett who looked for communist connections & Iran banking..
China stopping Coal shipments to NK … Kim better eat an extra bowl of Rice because where he is going the Devil only serves Shit Sandwiches….

  3. In my opinion it is folly to ship a carrier task force like Carl Vinson within range of NorK nuclear tipped missiles.
It is the general consensus that Fatty Whitewalls’ cheese has slipped off his cracker..

  4. “In my opinion it is folly to ship a carrier task force like Carl Vinson within range of NorK nuclear tipped missiles.”
As you say, it is your opinion.

  5. And what is your opinion as to how China would feel about getting the radioactive fallout if Fatty Whitewalls wiped out the carrier task force with a nuke and the U.S. were to nuke the NorKs back in response?
North Korea is a prison state and after all of Fatty’s rhetoric he would be in jeopardy of a coup if he didn’t do something crazy to maintain his “face”.
By the way, keeping face is a very big deal among Orientals. It’s something that Occidentals don’t generally understand.

  6. On one hand it would be truly horrible if the Norks nuked beautiful San Fran and sunny LA but on the other hand the potential effect on the Electoral College would be AWESOME.

  7. Would that be the same task force that has to wait until the NorK missile(s) hits before they could fire their tactical nukes in order to find out what kind of warhead it(they) are carrying?
Anyway, tactical nukes create fallout too, just less because being tactical they’re smaller and meant to be used against armored formations.
You can be sure that Fatty Whitewalls has a nice well appointed shelter that a mere tactical nuke couldn’t crack.
Too bad Jimmy Carter nixed the development of the neutron bomb. Neutron nukes supposedly had less blast, less fallout.

  8. “…By the way, keeping face is a very big deal among Orientals. …”
China is a bit oriental, too, isn’t it? The Chinese government is probably less worried about their puppet losing face than about losing their own. They probably also care more about keeping N.Korea as a buffer between themselves and S. Korea than they care about keeping the Kim dynasty in charge of that buffer.

  9. Killing Krazy Kimmie is not part of the strategy. A Krazy leader is better than a calm, rational, enemy leader. The EMP from a tac-nuke would render all of his retaliatory capability null and void and put the Norks even deeper into the stone age.

  10. Oz,
The rules of engagement have changed. The task force is just a timeline, but Kim will not decide when he dies.. The idea that we will wait until he acts is moronic.. We could hit him in the next nano-sec.. Do all of NK want to join KIM in the after life, they have a choice.. A real War has but ONE result & One winner…Kim is all in

  11. Military equipment is “hardened” against EMP and has been since the ’50s, civilian equipment and infrastructure is not. Don’t confuse the two.
You’ve seen pictures taken from space of North Korea at night. North Korea is blacked out, the surrounding countries are not. Usually some wag says this is evidence of North Korean poverty. It is not.
What it is evidence of, is that North Korea is blacked out at night …on purpose. The NorKs exist in a State of War mentality, just as European nations did during WWII.

  12. Fatty Whitewalls knows that he will die for sure if he loses face and doesn’t live up to his sabre rattling.

  13. “The Chinese government is probably less worried about their puppet losing face than about losing their own.”
Golly! Is that why they let their ‘puppet’ develop nuclear weapons and missiles to carry them?
Gee wiz. So they let the NorKs develop nukes just to keep a buffer between the PRC and the oh-so dangerous South Korea.
I’m so glad you let me in on that secret. I never would have thought of that./
Yowza! Zounds even!! You can tune a banjo, but you can’t tuna fish!!!

  14. …and you think the Nork military equipment is resistant to US EMP technology. You’re a funny dude sometimes.

  15. Can we all agree that Trump is a far better negotiator than the college sophomores who just left office ? Neither Obama, nor HER, or JFK wannabe, or the entire monstrously-sized State Dept. could get China to take ANY actions against N.Korea and its psychopathic dear leader.

  16. Why wouldn’t they be? Give me a reason. Why would the USA have secret sooper dooper EMP technology and not use it as soon as they discovered that they had been giving foodstuffs and fuel oil to the NorK regime on a Treaty the NorKs had signed with Jimmah Carter to specifically NOT develop nuclear weapons technology?
And here the NorKs have developed nukes and even have Hydrogen bomb(2 made even 3 stage atomic weapons) and “W” said they were part of “the Axis of Evil” and the U.S. hasn’t used this amazing EMP Sooper Weapon?
    Wow.
Hey, North of 60? Have you ever heard of a High-Power Microwave weapon?(HPM) Well, anyway, since EMPs can be blocked by lead shielding and even Faraday cages(finely woven) they been working on HPMs, for about 50 years.
    No joy. They remain elusive…dude.

  17. BTW Oz, the world has changed considerably since WWII. Hiding under the covers in the dark doesn’t help much anymore.

  18. Yeah. I’m sure when a battalion of Airbourne are dropped on the NorKs each and every soldier will be wearing night vision goggles as they hang suspended beneath their canopies.
That’s what Fatty Whitewalls fears the most. I just know that that American F16 pilot says to himself every night when he goes to sleep that he wouldn’t have dropped that 1000 bl. bomb on our JST2 group and killed 8 of them in a clearly marked exercise area outside of Kandahar if he had only been wearing his night vision goggles.
    Yup.

  19. The extent of your knowledge and the depth of your modesty about it impress me equally. Thank you for sharing so much of yourself.

  20. Just how many drones going in for a strike at night have 1) night googles or, 2) killed anyone in a JST2 group?
Do you need to wear night googles to use gps at night?

  21. No. But GPS ain’t going to keep you from hitting a tree either.
Security threats aren’t just one-dimensional. Tyrants are probably paranoid.
(remember when the Iranians ‘hacked’ that cutting edge U.S. spy drone? I do. Prolly just used a boosted cellphone type jammer to cut the control link. You can do that kind of thing if you’re a tyrant and the only people who are allowed to transmit are you and your military inside a given zone)
Think about how bin Laden died.(supposedly)
I’ll bet Fatty Whitewalls does. I’ll bet he thinks about what happened to Saddam and Gaddafi too.
(assuming he isn’t just a front for the real power like Zoolander is, Fatty looks kind of dumb and it ain’t just the haircut)

  22. 150,000 Chinese troops on the N. Korean border supposedly to handle refugees if the USA attacks the North. Since Trump recently met with top Chinese I suspect Trump offered North Korea to China. Simply move in and take it over. China still has a hammer over the South and eliminates a nutbar.
In exchange maybe the Chinese back off on some of their South China Sea bases.

  23. “I suspect Trump offered North Korea to China….”
Maybe, but why would China want NK?
Nothing but millions of nutbar mouths to feed. A nation of cutltist moonbat crazy dependants.

  24. The Chicoms are scared of South Korea? Come on! The Chicoms are terrified of US submarines: South Korea doesn’t amount to a loud Boo! as far as scaring the Chicons is concerned.
They view their support of N Korea as a bargaining chip.

  25. UnoMe >
I agree, Japan and South Korea have more than enough resources to take care of themselves.
On the other hand if NK continues to threaten the west with serious and able intent, a few cruise missiles should easily take out the NK leadership at their next public rally.
The US had no business spending billions securing the NK/SK border when those resources could have been protecting the US/ Mexico border for the last 60 years!
