  2. Trudeau government has put out a budget proving they have no clue about the Middle class he spouted so much about helping during his campaign.

  3. So today the PM will attend a doxology and a parade. The other day it was a technology demonstration, and a roof top garden. A few days before that, it was something at a community college. Hey — isn’t this what Duffy did? Romping around the country at taxpayer’s expense and socializing to garner support for his party? Actually, it is worse than Duffy since as PM you would expect he has serious work to do, (while part of a Senator’s role at that time was schmoozing.) I guess not.

  4. To clarify the previous rather mystic post by minuteman’s wife (who is currently making minuteman his morning coffee), She meant to say, why are they going after the buyer when the capital gains tax is paid by the seller?
From the article – “The landmark B.C. decision requires notary public Tony Liu to pay his client more than $600,000 because Liu failed to adequately determine whether the Vancouver house his client was buying for $5.5 million had been owned by a tax resident of Canada.”

“Jon Miltimore argues that Yale is becoming a kind of jail which hands out professional credentials to those hardy enough to serve out their term. Until then its inmates should be careful not to make waves.
The wardens in Miltmore’s story are college administrators who’ve created a kind of politically correct kingdom where they — not the professors — are the rulers; where conformity not inquiry, is the most highly valued virtue.
It’s hard to watch the documentary without recalling Mao’s Red Guards, a parallel which Roger Simon already noticed more than a year ago. He should know.
“I got a personal look at the remnants of the Cultural Revolution in 1979 when on an ‘activist’s’ tour of China.” Simon writes:
So you will excuse me if, from the outset, when I heard how our college campuses were being overtaken with these new-fangled “trigger warnings” and “microagressions,” perfect Maoist terminology for our computerized times, it immediately gave me the heebie-jeebies.
Thought control, via political correctness, had come to America in the very spot it had begun in China — the schools.
The Chinese Cultural Revolution is now forgotten history. Yet important thing about the “Red Guard” movement was how artificial it was. It was astroturf all the way. Behind the youthful Chinese faces was the aged figure of Mao Tse Tung and his political cabal.”

    “THE 10 COMMANDMENTS
The real reason that we can’t have the Ten Commandments posted in a courthouse is this.
    — you cannot post ‘Thou Shalt Not Steal’ ‘Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery’ and ‘Thou Shall Not Lie’ in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians … it creates a hostile work environment”

  7. So Earth Hour has come and gone with hardly a peep from our moral and intellectual superiors. Maybe they are finally realizing how pointless the exercise is and that we will never wrest the crown from North Korea. Toronto went from a 103 MW drop in 2015. to 89 in 2016 to 77 this year.
Earth Hour is bad for the poor: Bjorn Lomborg
Earth Hour is largely celebrated in rich, urban areas. Around the world, there are around 1.3 billion people living in the developing world who will not get a choice whether to participate or not. That’s because they will be living without reliable electricity on Saturday night, just like they do every other night.
Increasingly, the world’s rich nations insist that these people — the world’s poor — should have no new fossil fuel access. Foreign aid is increasingly tied to renewable energy projects such as building solar and wind power capacity, or tiny “off-grid” energy generators. This has a real cost — and it’s the world’s worst-off who pay.

  9. When Tom Waits played in Toronto he wouldn’t stay at the hotel the promoters gave him and my buddy Russ drove him around to find a more suitable place. They found Empire Rooms which had a great neon sign around the corner from where I lived. The went in and offered a guy cash and a night at the Chelsea if Tom could stay there.

  13. Imam calling for Jews to be killed in sermon at Montreal mosque draws police complaint.
I could not find the following link myself, even on CBC’s Montreal page, but Breitbart had it…
    CBC LINK ALERT: http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/imam-sermon-montreal-mosque-1.4037397
“Levine said this is the second complaint against a Montreal-area mosque filed with the Montreal police’s hate crime unit in just over 40 days. He said the police are still investigating that first instance but says they are not taking action soon enough.”
Gee, where is the outrage from those so-called haters of intolerance…. the entire left? Two-faced cowards.

  14. I celebrated earth hour by firing up the F150 and going over to visit some trapper buds. 100 liters of fuel consumed. Rachael got $4.50 in carbon tax. Trappers did a little drinking and left every lite on (3)
Nobody knew it was Earth day. Oh well maybe next year

  15. The CBC actually posted this article that speaks to the projection hypocrisy of the Trump haters. Has Trump given us all hope?
“After eight years of trashing a rather docile President George W. Bush – who stated in his book Decision Points that he felt mixing it up with the media was beneath the office of the president – the media slipped a little too comfortably into the role of cheerleader for the Obama administration. Indeed, when the Obama administration – like administrations before it – conducted off-the-record gaggles and backgrounds with hand-picked media, there was hardly a peep from journalists.”
And when the Obama administration named journalist James Rosen as a criminal co-conspirator in an investigation into State Department leaks about North Korea, and used the Espionage Act to obtain warrants for Rosen’s phone records and those of his parents, the broader press reaction was muted, at best.”
But when Trump sends out a mean tweet about CNN? Suddenly the very foundation of the First Amendment is under siege. With the furor surrounding Trump’s decision to break tradition and not call on the AP first at press conferences, one would think he had just subpoenaed two months’ worth of the AP’s phone records.”

Considering all the staff that have been hired and the extra bureaucracy that’s been created to cater to all those thin-skinned snowflakes, is it any wonder that tuition keeps going up? Who’s going to pay for soothing those narcissists?

  19. That’s sound reasoning!!
Reminds me of a front door sign I saw when I was visiting the Sixth Floor Museum in Dallas, Tx. many years ago. What used to be the Texas School Depository.
It read: ”All Firearms Must Be Deposited at Front Door.”
At first, I thought it was someone’s idea of a sick joke, later realizing that wearing a firearm is legal in Texas.
