Tell me, all the thinkers on SDA, was the fact that there was no terror attack other than the one in Turkey because ISIS is running out of mental cases willing to kill themselves, or because of heavy police presence?

As Day 1 of the Alberta Carbon Tax darkens I found this gem. Highly recommended as it delves into the history of the Global Warming scare. Approx 36 minutes…
>>A great scientist named Roger Revelle had Al Gore in his class at Harvard and the Global Warming campaign was born. Revelle tried to calm things down years later, but Gore said Revelle was Senile and refused to debate. John Coleman documents the entire story and shows how our tax dollars are perpetuating the Global Warming alarmist campaign even though temperatures have not risen in years and years.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyUDGfCNC-k&feature=youtu.be
If there’s a consensus on anything I think you’ll all agree Mr. Coleman has the greatest voice of anyone discussing this subject.
Enjoy and all the best to everyone in 2017.
Two not enough for you? Let’s not forget about Berlin a mere 8 days ago. Also, if measuring smaller incidents that largely go unreported by MSM it still seems to me like there is a significant problem.
I personally believe that The Donald has them running scared. And while they are running away from The Donald, Putin is waiting for them, just up the road, to quote my late father, with a flashlight in one hand, and a baseball bat in the other. Sooner or later the terrorists will lose, and freedom will flourish. https://youtu.be/hrG0AwUJQDQ

Like most of the readers and commentators here I’ve been watching our Western democracy slip from our fingers over the last quarter century. The war on terror has evidently failed as the terrorists have impacted our way of life to a degree that would have been unimaginable to our grand-parents and parents. I can well imagine the reaction of a D-Day supreme casualty if he were alive today if he was asked to remove his shoes and be frisked before boarding a plane in America in the Twenty-first Century. They did not lay down their lives for the Quisling “peace” that has descended on our society. The atrocities that have been leveled on Europe and America in the last year have pointed out that there can be no security of person or place in the coming years unless we act now. The problem is that we have been inundated with two to three generations of leaders that have been pacified through a failed education system and we have no leaders that are willing to take up the reins and deal firmly with the crisis, and it is a crisis. When newly arrived immigrants and refugees demand that we meet their requirements then we have lost. Like most of you I’m waiting to see which direction the newly elected president will take, but I’m not holding my breathe. Without drastic and I mean truly drastic measures being taken we have less than another quarter century to go. Thoughts are appreciated but don’t come telling me that I’m a racist, misogynist, xenophobe or whatever cause like Pat Condell I no longer give a dam about your labels.

What you do have is an illusion that makes you think your brain has that feature.”
Thanks for the comments, but let me clarify what I meant because it seems a couple of people didn’t realize I was talking about the threats that had been issued for weeks warning the west about the major attacks that would occur on New Year’s Eve.
The major cities took them seriously and acted accordingly.
I didn’t count the attack in Turkey because it is the Western nations they hate.
I really don’t think the kind of people who are motivated by ISIS pay any attention to what Trump has been saying or Putin. Some of them were involved with the brainwashing techniques for only a matter of months.
When a Muslim father will plant explosives on his little daughters, and the mother kiss them as they go off, both understanding full well that they will never be seen again, you know the kind of fanaticism we are dealing with.
Think of the 12th SS-Panzer-Division Hitlerjugend in WWII. That’s the closest I can think of at the moment. Did you know anyone who fought against them?
you know the kind of fanaticism we are dealing with.
The same kind that commits ‘honour’ killings in Canada.
“Inquiring minds would like to know.”
Lets start with the media embargo on reporting attacks.
Last year there were widespread rapes in Cologne. They weren’t reported for days.
Then when they were reported, they said there were 80. Just a few months ago they admitted that there were over 1000.
Some EU nations don’t report their Mohammadan caused rapes and murders to the media at all. Sweden comes to mind.
Okay, let’s segue into the attacks that have been reported over the last dozen years.
Remember how the media turned themselves into pretzels avoiding calling them terror attacks.
Even Obama refused to call the terror attack at Fort Hood a terror attack and wouldn’t pay the survivors compensation until recently.
Maybe there were and maybe there weren’t more attacks than have been reported so far.
We may never know or maybe we’ll know in the coming days and months.
It’s still early, it’s only January 2nd.
I am still waiting for a dirty bomb in a major city like New York. They only have to get it right once.

Robert I see you point but how about looking at it this way. We are at war, and when we are, certain precautions are necessary.
We’re the Germans and Japanese “winning” because we were subject to greater scrutiny, especially in those local communities?
I think not, society and government felt a duty to caution because “loose lips sink ships.”
I think this is more a contemporary societal issue, where many seem to want to assert “their rights” rather than understanding everyone’s inalienable rights to safety, apparently extended to not being inconvenienced, nor having to work for a living, to not being responsible for their actions, or to not having to hear (about) opinions or ideas with which they disagree.
That’s a way bigger problem than someone snooping on our boring lives; for the time being that is.
Yes he is in another country. For fun I searched to find how many personal trips Harper took as PM. He was roundly criticized for the amount spent on official trips, but I only found one trip to a ball game in N Y – in 9 years – for which he was roundly criticized – cost 45,000 . Justin – 2 trips in less than 1.5 years – appears to be about 1/2 million. It doesn’t include the summer ones . It reminds me of an article about Obama – a hero for serving Thanks giving dinner to homeless . You wouldn’t see George Bush doing that . Meanwhile he always spent Christmas at the Whiehouse. That way his security people could spend time with their families.Meanwhile Obama is always in Hawaii . Cost over 2 terms approaching 100 million. Might’ve been able too feed a few homeless for that amount. Community organizer is apparently a pretty good gig .
I think Canadians should be embarrassed about their overall treatment of Harper. Egged on by the left, they were mean spirited and petty. Now there is a price to pay — literally. I think the country is going to “H” in a handbasket — economically and culturally. You won’t recognize Canada by the time Trudeau is through.

The last federal election proves that many voters don’t think.
I would never have voted for the NDP because I’m not a socialist and I didn’t like Mulcair.
After Trudeau became Liberal leader, that party was dead to me, not just because of who his father was (and what PET did), but Potato Head was simply an irresponsible dolt.
I voted Conservative because I realized that the party would have been best for the country, even though I found Harper to be irritating. I thought, at worst, that we’d end up with a minority right wing government.
Unfortunately, many Canadians thought otherwise and likely cast their ballots without considering the consequences.
“What I don’t get is how our “leaders” cannot see that the Islamists are winning, even without an attack.”
Uh, dude. They know. They -like- it this way. That’s how f-ed we are.
That’s because elections are popularity contests not about “considering the consequences”, hells-bells most of them are not “considering the consequences” in their daily lives, why should anyone expect the chattering classes to be different about elections. The conservatives lost because the lieberals conducted a very effective “HateHarper” campaign on social media, while the conservative’s “HateTrudeau” message was beamed to the party-faithful who still watch TV and have land-line phones.
Elections are a lot like any other disputes. Whoever flings the mud first, wins. It doesn’t matter if it hits the target or if there was a legitimate reason for doing so.
