Oh, Shiny Pony!

Politicizing the blood supply:

The ban on gay and bisexual men donating blood is set to be lifted if one of the promises by the incoming Liberal Party of Canada majority federal government comes to fruition.
“The current situation discriminates automatically against men who have sex with men,” said Dr. Hedy Fry, Liberal MP for Vancouver Centre.
[…] “There could definitely be queer blood drives,” said Rose.

What could go wrong?

  1. Surely the unelected Supreme Court Judges can find something in the Trudeau Charter to fix this, save the Dauphin a lot of hassles when he has so many priorities, so many promises to keep. We’d hate to see his greatest asset, that marvelous mop of hair, turn grey from the stress.

  2. The Canadian blood donor system’s new mandate is to become an opportunity for gay men to increase their self-esteem, with a just a small side business providing occasionally tainted blood transfusions for the sick and injured.
“Dr.” Hedy Fry (“crosses are being burned on our lawns!!!!”) is our new world-renowned authority on HIV transmission.

  3. It adds a certain kind of creepiness to the Canadian Blood Services slogan:
    ‘It’s in you to give’

  4. It now makes it easier for you to be infected by HIS blood.
If you or your relative are infected I suggest that Turdo and Ms. Fried be personally named in your lawsuit.
Far-left twits that show total disregard for human safety need to be called to account. For too long these idiots are allowed to sleep easy while ruining people in the name of progress.

  5. Exactly. Let her be first in line followed by all her family should they need transfusions.
Hopefully politicians do not have the final word over the medical experts in the field, this is not a political matter, it’s a matter of life and death. Politicians can kill our economy, tax us to death, exhibition ‘A’,Ontario’s Wynne, but this is not something they can be allowed to legislate.
What we are seeing is political activism stemming from an obvious agenda.

  6. If any Canadian is infected as a result of such a policy, a law suit should be the least of the politicians worries. Pitch folks and tar and feathers come to mind. It will not matter how many idiots voted for them they will be removed from office.

  7. Sigh… it seems like a very long time since I’ve had to listen to this type of nonsense. But really, I read the current policy on MSM… it’s even more stupid… ‘you can donate blood if it’s been 5 years since your last MSM encounter…’ Really?
But hearing that Hedy Fry is still an MP is by far the most depressing.
I can see I’m going to have to mentally prepare myself because the hits are going to keep coming and coming.

  8. Justin ?
    PCPrincipal?
(Meet the new man in charge: PC Principal, a jacked-up fratboy activist who’s part motivational speaker and part thought-police stormtrooper.
What the f— is this? Are you f—ing kidding me? I’m telling you all, this is done. Like it or not, PC is back, and it’s bigger than ever! That’s the sound of 2015 pulling you over, people! Suck it!
There’s a simple joke at play with PC Principal: He’s the anti-bully bully, a white cisgender alpha male establishment figure who’s stated mission in life is to tear down the white cisgender alpha male establishment.)
    Can you tell the difference?

    oh, you knuckle-dragging tea-partying homophobes… what could possibly go… wait a minute
“Medical errors killing up to 24,000 Canadians a year … medical errors contribute to between 9,000 and 24,000 deaths in Canada a year.”
    ps… that’s the cbc speaking.

  10. Memories are short, remember the 1980’s blood scandal at the CRC? I wouldn’t want to have a transfusion from someone else, you can give an autologous donation for yourself, before the surgery, at least you know it is safe!

  11. Yeah this will work out. Considering the blood test has so many false positives makes you wonder how many false negatives are out there. As well, consider the Church street village here in Toronto. They have an Hiv/AIDS memorial to all the “victims”. As well a few years ago I was reading in the NOW rag that a few of the members would have “bareback” parties where one of the goers would be HIV + and they would play Russian Roulette. Problem is that so many in that community look at the HIV hospice as a lottery win. Great care, and they are looked upon with courage and respect for “living” with such a horrible disease.
Remember when people were infected with other STD’s? How many memorials are there out there for that?

  12. But the good news is that if you do contract something nasty through the blood system, we’ll soon have doctor-assisted suicide* to help ease your suffering.
    “O wonder!
How many goodly creatures are there here!
How beauteous mankind is! O brave new world
    That has such people in’t!”
    * Or, to give it its euphemism-free name: death by physician.

  13. Pssshaaaaaw! Watching his hair turn grey is going to be one of the few benefits of having to live through Le Petit Dauphin’s tenure.

  14. Given the demonstarted politicization of “scientific data” in the field of “climate change”, Ms Fry’s promise to use same to maintain the safety of the CBS is worrisome. Science has become a political plaything and it should not be used by politicians for anything until it is returned to its rightful owner – the truth.

  15. Next on the lists of liberal paniewastes will be rights for illegal aliens to tresspass on your property like their doing in europe

  16. I lived in the U.K. from 1983 to 1999 and when beef prices crashed because of the Mad Cow frenzy I went on a tear. Steak for dinner more often than not. Because of that I don’t donate blood, but I’ll make an exception and give some for Hedy Fry so she can set an example of tolerance and acceptance for us all.

  17. Policy=based science. Some may be turning over in their graves, Lysenko is nodding and smiling in his.

  18. “…gay men make up 49 per cent of new HIV cases in Canada”
Yet, only about 1% of Canadians are gay men.
    This discriminatory practice must end!
The LPC will “reconfigure the system” to make it more … inclusive.

  19. They stopped wanting my blood when I had one stent put in back in 2002 when one artery was 70% blocked. They have lost 13 years of donations from me. My thought was that blood donation got your blood tested thoroughly 3 times a year.

  20. Boy you Cons are so “heartless”! This is what the Dauphin told us what was going to happen remember when he said that we were going to “grow the economy from the heart”. Besides that we wouldn’t want all the new refugees coming over to feel slighted now they can contribute to the healthcare program by donating blood. If you look at what has happened in Europe over the last year they are also going to bring in a whole lot of new diseases that our doctors aren’t familiar with. So it’ll be a win/win situation. More blood donators, more communicable diseases and more “teachable opportunities”.

  21. Having paid no attention to any Trudeau announcements, I am astonished by the number of promises he did make. In LPC tradition, he should simply discard the vast majority of these, but with him one never knows. Saner heads pulling the puppet strings may force some restraint, otherwise we are in for some incredible deficit financing. So many of these promises are juvenile initiatives to do something different, or contrary to PM Stephen Harper.

  22. What would be the point of giving Mad Cow disease to Hedy Fry? Isn’t that pretty much hauling coals to Newcastle?

  23. We just had an election so obviously the voters are OK with this. After all there was a thorough discussion of this issue and the Liberals included this in their platform right?
Oh but the fact some disloyal idiot refuses to show her face at the very time she is offered full membership in Canadian society is an issue of greater gravity eh?
I told a friend that all the counterproductive, silly and plain dangerous actions he can dream up for this administration as it goes forward for THE NEXT FOUR YEARS, he can assume them all happening, plus plenty more. Like this one. I’m making a list just for the “fun” of it, kind of like the evil twin of “100 reasons to re-elect the Conservatives.
Anyway in their “take a little from the few to give a lot to the many so we can keep every stupid, expensive promise we made” platform, I can’t seem to find it. Can anyone “help?”

Number 2 on my no doubt growing list, the rude insult of the POTUS starting off things.

  24. I absolutely guarantee you that Justine, his wife and his little children will never receive blood from any homosexual sources.
    Absolutely guaranteed!!!

  25. Over 80 % of people with HIV/AIDS are homosexual men.
I suppose the liberal’s idea of equality is to spread HIV/AIDS among the heterosexual population.
    Justin Trudeau will destroy Canada.

  26. As a life-long blood-donor who just dropped his 175th pint (far less than an average adult’s lifetime of beer consumed) the other night, I concur that if “it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Canadian Blood Services has been doing an admirably air-tight job running their efficient and comprehensively thorough blood collection program, subsequent to the Canadian Red Cross’s eye-popping and costly AIDS contamination scandal several years ago. I’m happy to answer the same boring questions every two months, forsaking my idea of an express lane for we frequent flyers. I’m always satisfied to acknowledge that my blood is my personal best, with no possible side-effects derived from the handling of monkey fluids or even a one-time random interaction with a member of the same sex. The self-disclosure questions as well as the inside cubicle query conducted by a nurse are all pertinent, and cover a wide spectrum of lifestyle activity and choices, to verify the quality of the blood pool is as pure as it can possibly be to ably supply the many needs for transfusions. Perhaps there should indeed be “gay blood drives”, as suggested, with medical personnel and donors uniformly of that orientation. It would be a lot less scary to have to be a blood recipient, if one had some reassurance of the source. Gays can stick with their own blood pool, and thereby keep their prideful side-effects to themselves. Speaking of scary, I’m in disagreement with some people’s conception of what comprises it. I am a lot more apprehensive looking at our future in Canada than ever before…http://niagaraatlarge.com/2015/10/31/harpers-defeat-has-taken-some-of-the-scare-out-of-halloween/

March 10, 2010 CDC press release:
The data, presented at CDC’s 2010 National STD Prevention Conference, finds that the rate of new HIV diagnoses among men who have sex with men (MSM) is more than 44 times that of other men and more than 40 times that of women….The rate of primary and secondary syphilis among MSM is more than 46 times that of other men and more than 71 times that of women, the analysis says. The range was 91-173 cases per 100,000 MSM vs. 2 per 100,000 other men and 1 per 100,000 women.
Randy Shiltz, author of “And The Band Played On” made the assertion that the death of actor Rock Hudson was the great moment of AIDS public awareness. This is not true. A glance at periodical indexes from that time will show you that a massive explosion of literature occurred when it was proven that HIV had hit the blood bank.
The idea that a homosexual male has a right to donate blood to the public supply is equivalent to allowing drunk driving and making the public assume the shared risk.
There are no “rights” involved here. Pressure from the LGBT community along this avenue should be suicidal politically because it is homicidal in reality. I suspect the LBGT lobbyists are fully aware of the latter, and have what they consider “fairness” in mind. That, and the potential for more money to be driven towards AIDS research as a result of greater public concern. Blood-bank blackmail.
The decision to make this consideration in light of the massive statistical difference in infection rates is pure insanity. It is a demonstration of both the twisted nature of the radical left and the depth of their infiltration into the government and scientific communities. I can chuckle when the moon-bats suggest taxing cows based on their flatulence, but this is a lunacy too far.

  28. Of all the things to run a political campaign on! Promising to reduce the safety levels of tainted blood is what it all works out to in exchange for votes!! So what next! Mr. Trudeau will do away with brakes on cars and trucks because the ”tail” lights offend the gay community?? Vote Liberal!
Seriously–I do believe health and safety id a provincial matter!

  29. Opps sorry–that last line should read ”I do believe health and safety issues are a provincial matter!
