  1. I believe that this culture should be part of Canada’s rich tapestry and that more of these refugees should be allowed in. We need more Sharia Law!!! And I want a part time drama teacher to run this place in the future.

  2. The Conservatives RCMP tips line is intended to address exactly this kind of family abuse. Leftists seem to want to make light of the initiative. I was very disturbed by some of the comments in the Post after they came up with the misleading headline: Tories promise RCMP tip line for people to report neighbours for ‘barbaric cultural practices. A “tips” line in this context could do much to take action on a much hidden problem. Such a sad story.

  3. Isn’t it all about tolerance?
Whether it is genital mutilation , covering faces or honor killing we must just realize it is their beautiful culture and way of life, we can’t pick and choose, can we ?

  4. Dressing women in sacks is all part of the repression of women. There is no choice. It is all systematic violence against women. Trudeau thinks women are looking to be part of the culture that mutilates and kills them.

  5. Why aren’t feminist women’s groups protesting this type of discrimination, oppression, violence against women??? The real rape culture and slut shaming is on display in stories like this…not on North American college campuses.
This is why the feminist movement has no credibility with me.

  6. The religion of peace.
Where are the lefties? Was this not “rape rape?” Do lefties believe because the rapists were muslim that “she was asking for it?” Or is this just an extension of the right to kill one’s own child, even 20 years post-partum?

  7. I’ve known of honor killings here in British Columbia and I’m surprised that people who commit these honor killings don’t challenge their decision to do so under the “Charter of Rights”…freedom of religion and conscience”… I’m being facetious, but how far will our justice system go to protect the religious rights of minorities. I believe we in Canada are losing our values and what culture we have. Moreover, I give kudos to Quebec for standing up for their values on the niqab issue. The niqab issue is only the beginning and needs to be addressed not because it’s a minor issue which a journalist from the National Post said this am on TV, but because the outcome regarding this issue can set precedents for other decisions regarding religious freedom. This is only the beginning…

  8. Oh, don’t worry, Soozbc. Flaming feminist and Harper-hater Margaret Atwood will soon publish a futuristic distopian novel, titled “The Handmaid’s Tale,” excoriating a brutal patriarchal religion that takes over a country and forces all women to dress alike and be only wives, housekeepers and baby-makers.
    Wait a minute …

  9. You would think an honour killing is a father avenging the rape of his daughter by attacking the perpetrator.

  10. Walter:
Now THAT makes sense: “…an extension of the right to kill one’s own child, even 20 years post-partum?”
OF COURSE Lefties have no problem with honor killing – it’s just logical progression from partial birth abortions:
    “Retroactive Abortions”
… sounds like a basic human right to me!
    (sarcasm off!)

  11. Just wondering how/if Liberals have any Muslim candidates, given their status for on abortion. That would preclude ever having a Muslim run for the party, would it not?

  12. Words fail to express the disgust I have for such a barbarous cruel unevolved culture that can produce these ritualistic killings – if the progs say all cultures are equal the only culture equal to this one is one which permits human sacrifies.

  13. Those Syrians/Muslims enrich our culture one rape and one murder at a time!!! let’s have millions of them immigrate here!!

  14. ” Trudeau thinks women are looking to be part of the culture that mutilates and kills them.”
Bozo grew up in that culture where Pierre took his fists to Margaret with media attempting to sweep it under the rug

  15. Don’t expect things to be any different in Canada. The SCC (primary kangaroo court in the country) has ruled that Canadians have a right to die. Now doctors are supposed to refer on a patient who wishes to avail themselves of that right if they’re not about to get into the business of ensuring the Canadian right to die. Interesting that the same kangaroo court rejected the use of firearms for self defence (there is consistency, though – the right to die was upheld) and ensured that statist darlings are protected from the truth if it might cause them distress.
So, here’s a great opportunity for muslim physicians. Have a family with a daughter who’s dishonored the family, bring her in. On the orders of a physician, she can be committed for involuntary treatment for 24 hours. During that treatment, every family member will be there to witness her say that she wishes to die to expunge the dishonor she has brought on the family. The physician returns, starts an iv of propofol followed by high dose KCl and she peacefully drifts off into oblivion. No-one goes to jail, and it would be another example of Canadians taking advantage of their SCC guaranteed right to die.

  16. And you see, that is the culture of acceptance of the cult of islam. Once you accept the headbags in the citizenship ceremony, you must accept female genital mutilation. Once you accept the FGM, your must accept that male relatives can beat a female relative to death because she disrespected the lunatic bleating’s of a cult prophet. Once a woman’s life becomes worthless at the whim of cult sociopaths, then you must accept the idea that a non-muslim is allowed to live only if he can offer a useful skill or resources to perpetuate the expansion of the cult. Other wise his life is worthless.
But it all starts with the headbags.

  17. I think it’s safe to say that these people are simply not going to fit in here. This is way beyond a head scarf.

  18. Maybe a bit wordy, but here’s what I shared with (or thrust upon) many in my address book. They’re hearing only the apologist, ‘tolerant’ media analysis of the act, so I thought I’d offer a counterweight – including links to support my argument.

In advance of the election, certain political parties are downplaying – in fact, accusing the governing party of being intolerant, divisive and vote-seeking for even discussing the prohibition of wearing the niqab by anyone providing or seeking the services of federal administration. Culture matters, which is why I salute the Conservative party for not being painted into the corner of yielding to “while taking a citizenship oath” only.
Culture matters, which is why the demanding the right to wear a niqab – particularly by one who is not yet a Canadian citizen, is egregious. It is a demand that our own culture – a hundred and fifty years of liberal democratic tradition and 33 million strong – make itself subservient to but a few who self-identify as being so strongly religious, that their own requirement (not that of their religion according to Hadiths and Suras of the book) holds supremacy over the common culture and traditions (but apparently not the law) of the land they seek to be a part of.
Culture matters. Which is why a robust and careful screening of all citizenship and immigration applications must be in place. Note this story from Germany via Britain. A young Syrian woman, raped in her homeland, escapes to Germany. She integrates well, but after two years is (likely) murdered either by or on behalf of her family for the act of having been raped. And she saw it coming.
Can’t happen here? Recall the Kingston Ontario case of Mohammed Shafia, his first wife and his son, who in 2009 murdered four women – three daughters (sisters) and a second wife because they were becoming “too westernized”. They too, feared for their lives.
Now think about whether there is evidence of a real need for a ‘tip line’ by which friends, neighbours, relatives or school authorities might be able to provide advance warning for young women in particular, who may be danger of death or grievous injury due to cultural differences the opposition parties seem not sufficiently opposed to.
    Culture matters.

  19. hmmm. yes. the shafia case. the victims wound up in a car in a body of water or some such thing. ‘honour’ killings. the very phrase reeks of misogyny, hate and intolerance. all this from the religion of ‘peace’.
no, it’s the religion of ‘pieces’.
my theory? their ‘allah’ is none other than satan of the christian faith. Ive been known to tell that to select extreme in-yer-face type muslims.

  20. I agree 100% with your “theory”, and don’t hesitate to speak my opinion openly. I put quotes around the word theory because it is much more of a fact!

  21. the majority of liberal voters won’t even read about this. If it is not on the CBC then in their minds it did not happen. I wonder if these same voters realize that when the muslims take over they will still be considered infidels subject to rape torture and death despite their embracing them now.
