When I tried to give a talk at the University of Ottawa in March of last year on the presumed “rape culture” of university campuses, to argue that it is a paranoid fantasy to pretend that our culture condones rape, a group of students took it upon themselves to prevent me from speaking by blowing horns and banging drums and singing the communist Internationale. Why? Because these students believe they have the right to silence me, because what I had to say – though I never got to say it – created an “unsafe space” by denying a bedrock belief of feminism. If that kind of craziness in the name of protecting women sounds like a weird, isolated phenomenon, unfortunately it isn’t.
Janice Fiamengo explains why she’s happy to be called an “anti-feminist.”

The U of Zero, Allen Rock, Prop., busy producing the little mindless
leftist drones every government needs to hire for purposes unknown.
Future youth Brownshirts in the making rude and without any sign of ever being civilized Why dont they go live in the European(Soviet Union)but then thats what the Unoted Nations wants for all of North America

Sgt and Harkov, exactly.
“and singing the communist Internationale.”
This is not surprising as our universities have been churning out good little komsomol members for quite some time.
The future of Western Society – from laments for Cecil the Lion King, shrines for Lady Di, and now “safe spaces”. The mindless melodrama is the message.
Anti-feminist!
It’s like calling someone anti-fascist and thinking you’ve hurled a great insult.
“This is not surprising as our universities have been churning out good little komsomol members for quite some time.”
It’s the same method that Campbell’s Soup makes Mushroom Soup.., They are sorted, cooked & Canned… Sold to anyone
The code words that communists use to tailor their revolutionary propaganda…..Stalin deemed “America exceptionalism” make them immune to the standard communist methods.
When Obama says American exceptionalism does not exist.. he is saying Americans have been successfully educated to forget their History..Gone battle flag… ETC ETC
“However, American Communists started using the English term “American exceptionalism” in factional fights. It then moved into general use among intellectuals.[9][10] In 1989, Scottish political scientist Richard Rose noted that most American historians endorse exceptionalism. He suggests that these historians reason as follows:
America marches to a different drummer. Its uniqueness is explained by any or all of a variety of reasons: history, size, geography, political institutions, and culture. Explanations of the growth of government in Europe are not expected to fit American experience, and vice versa.[11]”

The university was once our main institution devoted to the ideals of thought—to knowledge, truth and understanding; the institution to which we would send our aspiring young adults to have their intellectual horizons broadened; where they would learn what knowledge is and how to acquire it; where they would discover the highest intellectual standards and have themselves judged by those standards; where their assumptions and prejudices would be identified and challenged.
In Upside-down World, where you live, the university has been transformed into an institution dedicated, not to the ideals of thought, but to its corruption; where, its inmates are protected from anything that may challenge what their “culture” and grade-schools have carefully inculcated in them. That is, the university has become the institution devoted to the fallacy that C.S. Lewis dubbed “Bulverism”. Bulversim is a compound fallacy comprised of (at least) two others: first, the rejection, without argument, of some claim—the fallacy of begging the question; and second, an explanation of why the proponent of the allegedly false claim could believe such a thing by appeal to something wrong with the proponent himself, rather than with the claim—a genetic fallacy, such as ad hominem, or “poisoning the well.
Here’s an example Lewis used to explain what he meant by ‘Bulverism’: A father is explaining to his son a fundamental truth of geometry—that two sides of a triangle are together longer than the third. The wife replies to this outrage with: “Oh, you say that because you are a man.” Her clear implication (implicature, actually) is that what the old man says is false, and that he is wrong because he is a man; probably white too, heaven forfend, and, worse still, not quite dead!
I submit that it is unmistakably clear that promoting Bulverism has become the goal of the Academy. The Academcy has, in large part, been taken over by the enemies of thought—feminists, Social Justice warriors, and the rest of postmodern horde. (There are, of course, exceptions.) That Bulverism also characterizes most of public discourse in Upside-down World is testament to the success of these Cultural Marxists.
Therefore, in the interest of honesty, I modestly propose that we alter the names of our universities to include this fact. Thus, The University of Bulver at Toronto, Bulver University at Harvard Yard, The London School of Bulverism. Likewise, our government offices and agents: The Minister of Bulverism at the Ministry of Higher Bulverism.
(Hat tip to someone … at Ace of Spades, I think, for reminding me recently of Bulverism.)
Oh my friends… let us not speak of “Political Correctness”, because that door swings both ways. Conservatives just pooped their pants because a (former) NDP candidate once said on his private Facebook page that he thought Israel is practicing ethnic cleansing. The right and Israel lobby naturally erupted, indicating that this is not even something we are allowed to talk about. Even though hundreds of thousands of Palestinians were forced from their homes and into camps.
So political correctness isn’t just about things on the Left, which I agree, can be silly. It’s about anybody who refuses to have a conversation without getting all blustery.
Blowing horns and banning people from speaking isn’t blustery. It’s fascist.
There’s a vast difference between censoring speech and responding to speech in a “blustery” manner.
