  1. Just like the new law that says you have to give a cop pulled over to the side of the road an entire empty lane of traffic next to them.
Useless gubmint union grunts with guns.

  2. OMG the police are not here to protect us, what oh what will we do?
Too bad that if we protect ourselves the police will be there to arrest us.

  3. I do not know what laws and precedents are in Canada, but in the US the Police have no duty to protect citizens.
There have been multiple cases appealed all the way to the US Supreme Court where people were robbed, raped, and murdered due to police inaction, and the police were held blameless. One case was Castle Rock v. Gonzales, No. 04-278. Three dead children, but the Castle Rock police did nothing to prevent it.

Another is Warren v. District of Columbia (444 A.2d. 1, D.C. Ct. of Ap. 1981)
Another was an unarmed man on a NYC subway fought and subdued a crazed knife-wielding murderer while the ARMED police cowered in the motorman’s cab and watched the fight.
Remember, You are on your own.

  4. Actually, this law is in response to the serious lack of common sense on the part of too many motorists. It’s not just the police: it’s the road workers and the AMA tow truck driver and the EMS paramedics who have had far too many close calls, not mentioning injuries and deaths, from inconsiderate idiots whose only objective was to get from Point A to Point B as quickly as possible, damn any obstacles. Me, I tend to move over for ANYTHING going on in the far right lane. Were I there myself, would appreciate a similar courtesy from other drivers.

  5. Actually, this law is a part of continuing politically correct assault on drivers it is also another step towards creation of a privileged class of below average IQ government goons.

  6. Knowing a young officer, father of four daughters (one of whom was born while he was in a coma)who died of injuries 37 days after being struck while directing traffic around an accident means we always pulled over – way over. It’s courtesy and possibly a life.

  7. Recently a woman in Vancouver was stabbed several times while the Vancouver police attempted to subdue the guy with the knife with a bean bag. That video exists today in Canada.

  8. overpaid nannystate tax collectors! Shootings in Surrey between the curry gangs, hey, no problem, what to do, what to do?
Cell phone drivers? Hang’em high, lots of staff to slow down traffic and collect more taxes for their masters…..

  9. My condolences to, and prayers for. the family of that young man. Sadly” Colonsita”, this is – seriously and unfortunately – what happens when the laws one would think were “common sense” would work. Gave obeyed traffic signs too often, only too be passed by scofflaws, to realize that there is a problem.

  10. never miding the efects of allowing abunch of uncivilzed african brutes to riot.loot and burn and prohiting the police from arresting the thugs Baltimores mayor needs to resign or be recalled

  11. Get your own gun. Whatever kind you want.
Then shut up about it. Till you REALLY need it.

  12. Cops are very good at doing their jobs but they are not stupid.
Now that everyone is falling over themselves to become a victim of something or other–
Cops are going to forced to just help people that appreciate them.

  13. I knew lots of people killed in traffic.
Your chances of dieing on the job are much greater being a garbage man than a cop.
Plus garbage men don’t set up traps…
We’re the prey they’re the predators.

  14. Get you own gun very soon, because if Canadian voters are as stupid as we believe, we very well could have a federal government that is opposed to private ownership of firearms.
The NDP has been opposed to guns in civilian hands since the 70’s, Liberals since the 90’s.

  15. Kinda like sending a 110 pound woman firefighter up a ladder to rescue a 210 pound victim from the second floor of a burning building.
    Nothing makes sense anymore.

  16. Tell me about it. I use to work with a 5.2 female firefighter/medic. She could hardly lift a person now to the gurney using two or more people. I knew if I went down during a fire in a building. I was on my own.
Nuts. She endangers herself and others who work with her.

  17. Dwarf firefighters. When the RCMP started hiring women and dwarves, they took the fistfight out their arsenal. Now instead of beating the crap out of a carload of Indians, a Mountie is more likely to shoot one or two of them till the rest settle down.
I am not going to win a gold medal in rhythmic gymnastics, nor is a girl going to beat up a carload of Indians but we can all pretend.
