The Saudis team up with Israel
The reason? Iran. The Israelis and the Saudis have a common enemy in Tehran, and they’re increasingly relying on each other now that the United States, contrary to the interests of both, might ease sanctions if a nuclear deal gets hammered out later this year.
Retired Saudi general Anwar Majed Eshki and Israeli diplomat Dore Gold shook hands in front of the cameras during their announcement at the Council on Foreign Relations–a bigger deal than it seems. Not because it suddenly means that Israel and Saudi Arabia are best friends forever–fat chance of that ever happening–but because shaking hands with or even saying hello to an Israeli is a crime in some Arab countries, even in Lebanon which is more open-minded and cosmopolitan than the lot of them.
But bigotries can fade in even the most reactionary countries over time and under the right circumstances, and it’s actually happening in Saudi Arabia.
Does that mean the Israelis will fight Saudi wars now rather than the USA?
In all Tottens years in the middle east, he doesn’t seem to have learned a damn thing about Islam. Lucky America with all its Muslim friends.

There was an attack a month or so ago on a a border post with Iraq. ISIS. The Saudi’s are quite at ease with ISIS, so why the attack? The eponymous House of Saud would not survive if ISIS took over. So, basically, the only major adjacent country not threatening them is Israel.

Actually BL@KBIRD has an advantage….philosophically when yer in among the trees it is difficult to see the forest….then there is that “Stockholm syndrome” aspect.
I among others have suspected that the Saudi’s have been seeking nukes to counter Iran…..so this is logical and pragmatic for both Israel and Saudi….I among others have suspected that, there has been much dialogue occurring covertly between the Israeli’s and the Saudi’s for some time.
Both have been fence sitting for some time now.
This open contact/photo op is for Iran’s benefit.
Now that Israel and the Saudis have nuclear weapons,
Will it will make the earth a more safe place?
I do not believe in the prophecies of men, Y2k, Mayan Calendar, etc. etc.
But I do believe we shall see a nuke explosion in our lifetimes.

Monday’s National Post reported rumours that Ayatollah Khamenei might be on his last legs, and that there is some sort of crackdown on “moderate” mullahs going on. It would be nice if the West could encourage some protests in the Iranian streets, if only the U. S. had a president who cared about freedom.

A study was made, where weapons of mass destruction (not just nukes) were deployed in such a manner to maximize damage and eliminate fratricide…..but it was estimated that most of humanity would probably survive……with spectacular sunsets….
